1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKingdom Uncensored on: September 22, 2021, 02:58:32 AM
Well, looks like the first quasi-crypto quasi-NFT will remain dead in the water... Cry

If anyone has any interest in tokenizing the items at least from Crypto Kingdom on XRP's Flare network, please let me know. Flare's Songbird test/canary network is releasing September 27.

I mean, come on: CryptoPunk alien images are going for $4.20mil... Angry

Good idea!!

The historical significance of CK is beyond doubt, shame it ended the way it did, still a great idea!

XEM back over 10c and showing proper signs of life for the first time in a long, long, long time. Between now and December it might actually be worth paying attention.

Shifting fluids in a corpse can look like signs of life too, but I am paying attention!!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: August 17, 2020, 01:56:48 AM

SIA has been around since 2014, "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger", SIA has survived, it is strong, it is very well regarded, and the tech is fantastic.

Of course Sia already survive till today, but community and miners also need something good from Sia as part of their innovation. From their public feature roadmap, i don't see any good improvement to help Sia get their more demand. If its happen for a long time, what Litcoingva says will increased and the community lost in faith for this project. Decreasing and losing community and miners will be hard for the team to fixed it.

I forgot about SIA price years ago, I believe decentralized storage will become very important tech for the future Internet, the only issue is if the devs have enough funds to stick around until the inevitable (viral) adoption happens. I'm betting the devs will stick around, so I'm buying more SIA when I can.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: August 16, 2020, 02:20:31 AM
Looking at the statistics it looks like the network capacity is decreasing... host are decreasing too... difficulty is decreasing too, after so many years there is no company involved in siacoin... I think 2017 hype around cloud was a good marketing... but today after so many years there is still nothing big around. It only a storage cloud, no website can be build on sianetwork... bitcointalk is dead... no official ledger nano app... siacoin push all their effort to create and sell mining rig... hashrate down,...used storage is going down too... with this network you can store few movies (netflix or such companies will never use sianetwork) coin supply is so big for a so tiny demand (in the burn wallet you have less than 1000siacoin since 2016 lol...) ... siafund are so expensive that there is no interest too... being a host you will loose money becose energyis not free, mining is not profitable.... siacoin is dumping since 2017.... after 1 year we are still bellow 30 sat.... i dont think its accumulation.... its dominated by some whales who have no more interest to pump siacoin becose all other coin have more community involved... 51 active hosts and 318 online host... just looking at statistics you understand that this project is decreasing in interest... nobody talk about siacoin in twitter. 0CHAIN DIDX10 SINCE JANUARY and siacoin did 0x.... is 0CHAIN THE REAL CLOUD STORAGE ? RIP SIACOIN

Giving up hope at the beginning of the next crypto hype cycle will cost you a lot of $$, even for those who think of nothing else but "price"

SIA has been around since 2014, "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger", SIA has survived, it is strong, it is very well regarded, and the tech is fantastic.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qortal Genesis - The Infrastructure for the Internet of the Future on: June 30, 2020, 01:14:41 PM

Crowetic has been working on this project for +4 years, paying the devs out of his own pocket afaik too, I think it's fair to say he's balls deep on this project - financially, time commitment, emotionally - the genesis was literally today, it's a really promising project, one of the best I've followed since I started with crypto in 2013. If he sounded a bit prickly about your feedback on the announcement, try and cut him some slack, this is a BIG moment in his life, a significant achievement to get this far and launch a genuinely innovative new platform, I think he will take any help he can get with marketing & communication in the future, Qortal is very community focused, core principles of decentralization, the stuff that excited most of us that got into crypto in 2012-14.

yes I agree to all what you mention, so I'll be quiet. I understand the sensitivity, what I wrote was meant to be constructive criticism.

Good Luck with the project, maybe I'll get to run a node also!

Yes, consider running a node, unlike PoS & PoW it doesn't require anything more than a commitment to run the software, no need to buy expensive mining hardware or a stack of coins to stake, you just get sponsored to start as a Minter (by someone over level 5), then everyone in a particular level shares a set % of the block reward, which increases as you move up through the levels, from continuing to run your node and passing uptime milestones. It's very fair, and the platform feature set is impressive!

If you READ, you might be able to figure out the answers you seek... as they are ALL There.

Apologies if the 'olympic-wallpaper' (as if that's actually a thing) size OP is 'too many words' for your brain to comprehend... I will spell it out for you...

Well, since you clearly need things spelled out specifically for you, here goes...

You see? There is no way I can give you whether we are PoW or PoS, since we are NEITHER. If you READ, you will see that. IF you refuse to read, you may interject with comments like this, and prepare for my responses. Wink

<3

Here is some expose:

I am not even questioning the technical validity of the project- it seems interesting to me, and I have seen a lot over the last 7 years I have been in the crypto space (incl. the original QORA and its decline) - how could I, I haven't looked unde rthe hood, but on first impression it looks like worth watching.

Neither am I in principal not willing to get into the technical nitty gritty of things.

My point is the style of presentation which is not done in a very comprehensible manner even for those skilled in the art (and don't reduce it to PoW vs PoS)

And, on inquiry, your response, which displays a scathing l33t-Geek arrogance of tech dudes so much in love with their own competence on their high horse that they expect everybdoy else to simply .. get it, or else be deemed of inferiour mental capacities..

Again, nothing about tech, but of presentation and style of community building, many a good tech has failed for not good community culture.

Still early, so you might want to reconsider your attitudes  Wink

Oh, come to think of it: I started looking for a whitepaper in the OP, and the longer I scrolled the more I felt being swamped with not very well structured minutiae and detail, so I did indeed not read the whole OP from first to last line, as you correctly assumed, because I was looking for a WP and a few concise points describing the whole thing.

Can someone be honest and diligent and say what is truly happening with QORA?  Is QORA back on point or are there scammers trying to trick people into sending their QORA away?  Please advice with facts and proofs.  Thanks

DYOR, be honest and diligent to your own investments,  follow discord , make up your own mind.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: June 14, 2020, 01:26:27 AM

This leads me to the reason I came here to post today... QORA FINAL BURN DATE - JUNE 6, 2020

We realize that we have changed the date a few times, but that was only because people had pushed me to set a launch date when I didn't really want to, as I knew that it probably wouldn't be exact... as this is how totally new prototype development goes...

Regardless, I set dates (that were missed)...

Great timing. Announcement unbelievable 4 days before deadline. You could do it better announcing it 4 hours or 4 minutes before. Respect.

The original deadline was 1 Jan 2020, so to be fair the dev gave the Qora community a 5 month extension for the coin burn.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: March 06, 2020, 01:41:23 PM
IOTA is still in beta development and will be for quite a while, the vast majority of investors understand this, so the recent problems with the trinity wallet doesn't really change the future outlook of the project.
This is a lie. IOTA is a proven scam.
IOTA is a long term cutting edge project in beta development since 2015, I don't expect mainstream machine economy IOT apps until 2022, everything so far doesn't rate as a proof of concept even, most holders understand the timeframe involved, and understand all the criticism over the coordinator,  some speculators will get nervous and dump, haters will do their thing. The thread you linked to has no new allegations, and no evidence, and less than 25% of the mud slung at IOTA over the years. Can't you even bother to catalogue all the conspiracies in one place?
Are you trying to tell me that you are willing to shill this scam despite warnings from major cryptographers to stay away from it? QFR.

Look at the quantity and quality of people in the IF, their backgrounds, skills and experience, the partnerships the IF has made - so you think all these people and companies and academics and organisatjons are scammers, or being fooled? Your claims are not credible, IOTA project has faced many challenges, and mistakes have been made, but the future is still very optimistic. Iota succeeding is threatening to a lot of people, so there are loads of haters.

I am shocked that IOTA has not lost more of its value.  The MAINET has been turned off by a small centralized crew and they aren't turning it on again for weeks.  That should absolutely destroy a networks value, right?

Are there no applications running?  This is supposed to be for functioning applications right, not just coin exchange.

I must be missing something.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin HEX [by Richard Heart] unofficial on: February 23, 2020, 05:25:36 AM
From what I am reading, ETH is being recycled by Richard Heart into his AA system and on exchanges. Is this true?

I hear serious discussion of a HEX reboot without the origin address and ETH recycling, RH designed a pretty cool project in HEX, but the ETH recycling is driving away supporters.

And what would happen with ETH that goes in to such a construction?

It would be sent to another contract that provides liquidity on Uniswap, so in theory no single entity would control the ETH, and everyone could verify the contract before contributing.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: February 17, 2020, 09:20:50 AM
TCP/IP was funded by government (universities and  military ), the IOTA protocol is being funded by the token, and it's basically done the job well to date. Speculators and investors needed a wallet so Trinity was developed, but none of this has much relevance to the internet of things machine economy. IOTA is in beta, it's not a human based digital currency.

The IF has done a good job, the companies considering using the IOTA protocol and making it a global standard for machines on the internet don't care about trinity.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: February 16, 2020, 10:24:27 PM
IOTA is a data transfer protocol for machines, the project is in beta, and will be for a few years yet. The IOTA token is important for initial funding, but won't be used by machines as intended for quite a while, and for many use cases the token won't be used at all.

It's unfortunate that a few human users of the Trinity wallet had funds hacked, but it has zero impact on the ultimate roadmap for the IOTA project. Yes, it looks bad that a third party software provider created an attack vulnerability for the wallet provided for humans to use, and obviously some human investors and speculators are going to get upset and abandon the project in the short term, but, the machines using IOTA in the future won't care.
