Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is one of the saviors.

I believe that bitcoin is one of the saviors technology when created and properly shortened can have a profound positive impact on humanity and improve human life. Bitcoins are what provide people with the basic necessities of life with the global epidemic it has become even clearer that we have been able to play an important role for communities around the world and help them feel safe at an uncertain time by providing them with the things they need at their doorsteps. Bitcoin is helping people in their daily lives.
I agree with the impact, I would be a bum right now if it weren't for bitcoin, the financial freedom that bitcoin has given me is something that couldn't have happened if I didn't take the leap and tried bitcoin in the first place.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Afghanistan replace afghan currency with Bitcoin?
|
on: September 03, 2021, 10:49:34 AM
|
I think that there is real potential there.
Can't happen, there's just too many people in Afghanistan for bitcoin to cater even if they use the smallest denominations and even keep on dividing it to smaller units, it would be unfair to other countries in my opinion. Plus, I am sure that not even half of the population probably knows about bitcoin or how to use it.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MrBeast now teaming with Coinbase to give away $100,000 in Bitcoin on Twitter!
|
on: September 03, 2021, 09:50:04 AM

I thought that those giveaways were like just staged back in the days. I guess it is MrBeast being MrBeast. I first knew that guy when there was like that Pewdiepie trend back in the day and Mr Beast like advertised him really hard. Let's see how these goes though.
If you were to say that thing without saying "back in the days", I would be insulted as a supporter of Mr. Beast because I have been on supporting that channel since the days of reading a dictionary in one sitting but it's understandable that you'll think that, charity and poverty porn content are great at gathering audiences. Never in my long time in that channel watching each video would I ever think that anything crypto related will sponsor Mr. Beast.

Economy / Speculation / Re: Do Not Sell! Don't Let The Whales Get Your Precious BTC!
|
on: September 03, 2021, 07:48:48 AM
|
This is absolutely not the right time to sell our "precious" Bitcoins, yeah. This is the right time to buy rather than to sell. Even if Bitcoin price reaches at least $60k, we'd make an incredible profit. And I believe that the price won't just make do with $60k. I believe that it's possible to see a level near $100k in this year if everything goes right. I feel like the only time that we should sell is when we feel like it's right to sell, and always try to go by the guidelines that we should be fearful when everyone is greedy and be greedy when everyone is fearful. To me, 100k isn't the right price for me so I will be a bit more greedy this time.

There's still a lot of time so I think we can still hold on to that hope that it will go up to a 100k before or by the end of the year. Although we have to be careful not to be too hyped up by this hope because things might happen and might not until it finally happens.

Totally agree, bitcoin is a decade old already so I don't think that it's still in the early stages of adoption. We're more like at the middle ages of the adoption since the adoption is already fairly known but not fairly large yet.

Economy / Economics / Re: What could make a hacker return stolen $600m crypto
|
on: September 03, 2021, 04:48:56 AM

Probably morals or just the thrill of solving a complex puzzle which is represented by the company of Poly Network. There are other reasons but most of them are financials, not to mention that the hacker wanted to demonstrate his power to the company and directly telling them that they can't do anything if he finds sone vulnerabilities and probably the dudes too scared of going to jail knowing how deplorable going to that is.

What are they gonna do? Raise their canes and rally in the streets with their crutches? These people don't know what they're talking about, the money laundering angle has been used already but they still use that card? It's like bitcoin started the business of laundering money. Just so you know people who still believes that bitcoin can be used for laundering money, there's an advancement in cyber crime prevention where they can track the suspicious transactions and bitcoin makes their job much more easier.

For now it's a bit nuts to think that bitcoin in 2035 will be a hundred million apiece. It's not that I don't believe that it will go to that point but because of the time that they've predicted, it's just too short of a timespan for bitcoin to reach that point.

I don't know the guy but I feel like this candidate isn't going to win, not because of a fair fight but because some companies that's going to be affected by crypto directly will be using every connection that they have for this candidate to not win. That's just my hunch though because I know how politics work even just a little.

I don't think you've caught some malware somewhere but not the airport, you connecting to the airport Wi-Fi has nothing to do with you being hacked, the VPN ads lies about that part, I think the abuse has been obsolete because the Wi-Fi tech was changed. Maybe the people behind that hack was biding their time.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The more popular Bitcoin is, the more valuable it is?
|
on: September 02, 2021, 05:26:03 PM
|
It is really something that we need to ponder upon. How something that cannot be touched, seen, or perceived as real, is having a value that is worth more than gold. Much like the governments of the world giving value to fiat currency, so are the people that gives value to crypto especially Bitcoin. I think, the more people think of it as true, real, and valuable, then the more valuable it becomes. Not to mention of course market forces that would give Bitcoin a very high price due to high demand.
You've answered it already, it's because of the people that believes and perceives that there's value in it. I think that it's the ultimate truth in regards to the reason why bitcoin has a value like fiat, their both backed by faith of the people and that it can be used to trade goods and stuff.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to answer when asked "Can I make money mining bitcoin?"

on: September 02, 2021, 04:41:15 PM

My answer would probably be, yes you can if you can factor the electricity cost, the rigs and other expenses and see that you still be able to make a profit then probably you're going to make money mining bitcoin but right now, I feel like no individual is mining bitcoin already, most of it are taken over by the farms.

Probably in first world countries but I don't think a corrupt third world would have that, remember that election is always being cheated in those countries so removing that opportunity for corrupt candidate will definitely make things difficult for them so they will do whatever it takes for that to not happen.

On the one hand, I feel very sorry for him, but on the other, I am to blame. It is better to keep such data well.
Why would you be blamed though? Do you know the guy? The problem with keeping data right now is that it's really hard to be consistent, one second this is safe and then the next one it isn't, you really don't know how to keep it consistent because technology keeps on changing and everyone wants to make money.

Africans sees any glooming opportunity as a source of investment this has made crypto currency use in Africa a means of passive income for Africans other than a means of transaction for which it was meant for this is solely due to poor economic growth of this African countries so people device alternative means to survive. But in all it's good to note Africans aren't left behind in this era of digital monetary transactions disregarding how it's been spent or use provided the essence of it's development is not abused
I'm happy that they're getting the benefits too, out of all the continents there is, they have the most problem, with some countries in the continent having different problems and a lot of problem with resources. They're the people that needs this the most.

That's actually pretty good because the more people using bitcoin, the higher the demand for it, and the more demand for it, the more the prices go up so yeah I welcome them using bitcoin for something that they want to add to their website.

Now I prefer to trade crypto and make a profit. But it is difficult to predict what will happen next.
That's normal that it's difficult, if that's not the case then trading won't exist because IPO and public companies won't exist because the investors know when and where the market's going to go.
