1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of all airline & flight ticket sites that accept bitcoin on: June 29, 2019, 07:00:10 AM
Added Travelbybit.com.

They are also the payment processor for Brisbane Airport (and other AUS) merchants that accept crypto (even LN.) And they got some investors like Binance, so not some random new company. They also don't use a third-party for payments, so that is always a plus.
2  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit The original crash game on: June 21, 2019, 12:01:49 PM
You registered here 2 years ago to cry about "bustabit being a scam" and yet 2 years later they are still running perfectly fine. Maybe time to consider that you are wrong lol.
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SafeDice admin missing on: June 12, 2019, 06:22:12 AM
Mm yeah true, could be considered written contract. But overall, the warning sign is there and the details are available.. so should be fine :p
4  Other / Meta / Re: Trust flags on: June 12, 2019, 05:19:50 AM
I wonder can the user that received the Flag can counter it themselves?
Yes, it is possible: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=32 but if user not in DT (well your trust network).. I guess it's equal to a new account opposing it.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Trust flags on: June 12, 2019, 04:49:01 AM
The other issue is that there is no good way to link to a specific flag from an accusation thread saying "if you want to support this accusation, go here". You can link to the inactive flag list or to the trust page, but the actual flag could be there or not, depending on viewing person's trust list. And if the scammer has multiple flags then extra steps will be needed to verify which one is the one you want to support.

I'm sure we'll figure it out but it seems a bit clunky and error-prone.

I actually did link to the flag in my SafeDice thread because when you create the flag you go to something like: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=30 (eg a direct link.)

If you want to get it from the trust page, you would have to figure out the ID by hovering support/oppose/delete and make the link - but not that easy.

edit: actually that link is also the reference link for "(Created flag)" at "Sent feedback" - so easy to get there.
6  Other / Meta / Re: Trust flags on: June 12, 2019, 04:31:16 AM
As I've seen some of the users that commited scams doesn't have any Red as of now, and from ehat I'm seeing is that once they have also got a few positive feedbacks they'll have green ones.

Huh
All in all, I just still like the previous one  Undecided
Now -9999 Trust Scores won't be seen anymore

With an active flag it becomes a bit more clear: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=396610

Curious indeed how it looks if flag but still few (old) positives.

Basically it will take some time for all flags to be made, but should be fine in long-run.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Trust flags on: June 12, 2019, 04:28:25 AM
Here someone created a contract-violation flag:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=9
Since that's clearly a test account, feel free to support it or oppose it as a test.

I wonder which wannabe hacker tried to test some stuff Roll Eyes

Seems all good, lol.
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / SafeDice admin missing on: June 12, 2019, 04:09:37 AM
The new "flag" system says:
Quote
You must create a topic describing the specific acts which damaged you. It must not be self-moderated.
So figured I would make a topic since people should be warned about SafeDice.

TLDR: SafeDice is an investment dice site where the admin/owner is missing for almost a year and people with stuck funds, including myself, can't withdraw.

Scammers Profile Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=396610
Flag: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=30

I will just leave the message I made last April here as it sums up the situation:

I say the above based on personal experience.  If you have a disagreeing opinion based on something other than personal experience, I wouldn't consider it relevant.  The problem here is that one person says something without a basis in fact, and then a hundred other BCT.org users repeat it as fact, and so on and so on.  I'm not saying this guy isn't in prison.  I have no idea.  I'm not saying Monero withdrawals work.  What I AM saying is that Bitcoin withdrawals from this site are working.

My own feedback was the following:

Quote
There are rumors that the owner is in prison (for unrelated things.) I do not know if this is true, but I do know the owner has not been active for a long time. Therefor I would stay away from SafeDice.

It seems like the BCH/XMR is stuck and BTC depends on the hot wallet. It is unclear whether a trusted third party (who is close to the owner) is still available to top up the hot wallet or what's going on. I hope anyone who knows more can post in the topic.

Of course this is a pity, because SafeDice has been around for a long time and was legit so far. So I do hope (and TBH expect) the owner will come back and I will be happy to remove my negative trust by that time.

As you can see, it says "BTC depends on the hot wallet". XMR/BCH both had hard forks, so they really don't work any more, but the BTC hot wallet is still functional. So yes, if you are lucky enough, the BTC withdrawals could work.

Naturally more players lose money than win money. And there are still people depositing/playing (see charts.) So this means the hot wallet still goes up from time to time with funds. You can actually follow the hot wallet here: https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/SafeDice.com (it has a delay - so your 0.5 BTC WD will be there tomorrow Wink) Still looks like there are ~5 BTC in it (so any investor with stuck BTC could withdraw a bit now.) Specifically someone deposited 3x 1 BTC on different accounts and lost all 3 BTC at March 26-30, this can be seen both in the hot wallet and profit charts.

Overall a few points:
- Several of us (including myself) has been emailing the admin (both emails) since ~Sep 2018 without any reply
- Cold wallet funds haven't moved since ~Aug 2018: https://btc.com/1SD1ciWyeDNf26YoAUjSsifQZK1ShFJ2s - even at times when the hot wallet was empty for a long time
- XMR and BCH has been broken since they had hard forks
- SafeDice bitcointalk account hasn't been active since Mar 2018: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=396610
- Domain will expire at Sep 2019 - let's hope he has funds in Namecheap account (obviously the same question can be asked about the server.)
- From my view, the BTC hot wallet is only topped up by players
- Hunterd63 claims a previous staff member helped him with a withdrawal (for a reward.) In SafeDice chat, Hunterd63 said the previous staff member said the owner was in prison. This is where the rumor comes from. TBH I don't really care about this rumor, the point is that the admin is inactive.
- The admin has been gone for weeks/months in past too (which is why I still have hope), but this gotta be a new record

So should you deposit/play at SafeDice? Obviously not. It's fine that you share your experience, but we are not making things up. The prison part is speculation, the rest are facts. It is extremely risky to deposit/play at SafeDice (the hot wallet can get empty and/or be less than your winnings, the site can go down all of the sudden, no support whatsoever, etc.) and all the warnings in this topic are justified.

..which is much better than having a single point of failure without any real accountability.

In the past I have considered whether having the same hosting provider, same programming language, etc. is still "single point of failure" in this perspective though. But that is probably being extremely paranoid (and I obv don't know details here anyway.) But sure, on any other invest site (without "audit server") I would withdraw my funds right away now lol. Those bets are pretty sick lol, not the profit itself, but 1.01x the whole time and then the timing of switching to this huge target, damn. But congrats Smiley until otherwise proven I guess.
11  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of all airline & flight ticket sites that accept bitcoin on: April 16, 2019, 05:13:40 AM
- Added American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines to Bitrefill.
- Added Bidali giftcards.
- Added xceltrip.

I do not know Bidali nor xceltrip, so do your own research.

I am pretty sure it took a week or longer after my reports, but the mods did an impressive job by deleting hundreds(?) of posts. So make sure to report the posts as well Smiley

AFAIK the "max leverage ratio" was lowered once, so that could cause an error for you now.

A leverage of up to 3:1 is supported, which means that Ƀ 1 invested onsite can support up to Ƀ 2 offsite for a total of Ƀ 3 invested.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ETH-Jackpot.com | Ethereum Jackpots all day, every day on: January 28, 2019, 04:04:05 AM
Quote
When the maximum number of bets is reached, players are assigned tickets numbered 1 - 10000 based on their bet values.

Your algorithm is not provably fair. You, as the site owner, could be the last player. As last player, you will know all the previous bet amounts and the random seed (= result.) Therefor you could make exactly a bet with the exact bet amount that will be the winner. You could win every jackpot.

I am not saying you are doing this, but just saying it is not provably fair.

One solution could be to use those seeds in combination with a future ETH blockhash. So if we are at block 7137321 right now, you say we use hash from block 7137336 and we stop betting at block 7137331. So we have 10 blocks to bet. Then some delay till the result otherwise "the site" could still make a last-minute bet after the block already (as the bets are not on-chain) - so the result 5 blocks later. This only makes sense if the prizes are not too big (compared to miner block reward), otherwise you and a miner could still collude to withhold blocks. Also this will make the game obviously slower.

Another solution is to make it on-chain, especially with a smart contract, but as you state in your FAQ, this does cost TX gas.

Overall combining "jackpot games" and provably fair algorithms are unfortunately not ideal (typically slow especially if you want to have bigger prizes as you would need to use bitcoin blockhashes or even some heavy-calculating hash from the blockhash like PevPot did.)

No.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Using an offline designated MacBook as an offline wallet in 2019? Is it safe? on: January 18, 2019, 06:27:33 AM
I'm talking about ONLY plugging in the ethernet cable when going into the wallet
That is not an offline computer.

One option is to use Electrum. Put wallet on this offline Macbook (that is ALWAYS offline) and watch-only wallet on normal computer, then sign transactions with a transaction file through USB stick. See docs for better explanation: http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/coldstorage.html One could argue putting USB in offline Macbook is still a risk, but IMO a smaller risk than your solution for an "offline wallet".

edit: of course your solution is still more secure than average wallet out there.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Famous Dice Sites Losses on: January 17, 2019, 03:12:21 PM
Just-Dice. 7016 BTC at $137/BTC = $961k

Pretty sure this is the most famous dice site player's loss :x

No.
19  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: January 07, 2019, 12:14:39 PM
Ugh, time for negative trust which hopefully can be a warning. Clearly the owner is not active anymore. There is a rumor that he is in prison (for unrelated things.) I have no idea if that is true (only read it in SafeDice chat) but I hope someone who knows more details can speak up. For now I would stay away from SafeDice.

Personally, I also still got some investments locked up and TBH I am not even too worried (I expect the owner to come back at some point), but it is an unfortunate situation.

The last time there was movement in cold storage was August (4 months 2 weeks ago), so presumably the owner was still active by that time. Curious if anyone ever heard from him after that?

Reported 13 accounts.

The vegascasino spam is getting a bit ridiculous. Frequently their longer posts are copy-paste from old posts or other sites. I hope all the newbies will be nuked+banned and all (IMO sold) accounts banned + vegas-posts removed.

Anyone who sees more of this spam in future from other accounts, please report to mods as well Smiley
