901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How CloudMining is Profitable ? on: June 04, 2015, 02:18:14 PM
Basically there are 2 types of cloud mining sites:

1. Sites where you seem to be able to get profits, however they are actually not mining and just running a ponzi scam.
2. Sites where they do really mine, however you will (most likely) not be able to get profits with the increasing difficulty.

Conclusion: pretty risky "investment".

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0 seems decent basic information too.
902  Economy / Gambling / Re: Provably Fair Technology on: June 04, 2015, 01:14:53 PM
I made an article/page that should make it easy for anyone to learn the basics of the provably fair mechanism:

Quote
Players always fear to be cheated on an online casino. This is understandable because it is technically very easy for an online casino to just make you lose. In the Bitcoin gambling community we have a solution for this called "provably fair". Provably fair is a tool that enables you (the player) to verify each roll result and make sure you are not being cheated!

903  Economy / Gambling / Re: Reworking provably fair system on: June 04, 2015, 09:34:00 AM
Ah you are correct. Although that link is very small lol, I would probably display it slightly different. Anyway, seems technically okay then, although I didn't actually calculate the results and didn't check the details (just had quick look only.) But yeh, nice job improving it already.
904  Economy / Gambling / Re: Reworking provably fair system on: June 04, 2015, 02:24:48 AM
After over 4 hours of non-stop programming Quincunx provably fair system with nonce is finished.
Please verify our implementation (only Quincunx game), its based on primedice system.

If verification will be positive, we will implement it also in poker.

It seems like the idea is good now. But unfortunately there is still a mistake and the site is still not provably fair Tongue

When a player changes the clientseed, you give a new serverseed. This means you could calculate bad results based on these seeds. The idea of a clientseed is that there is a variable in the calculation which the site doesn't know in advance and therefor cannot predict the results in advance. 2 options:

1.  When someone sets the clientseed, you should keep the same hash (and don't reset the nonce or else player can cheat.) And then there should be a separate button to "request new serverseed" that also resets the nonce.

2. OR show the "next serverseed hash" already when setting the new clientseed (that is actually what PD does.)

Truthfully I didn't fully test the provably fair method but this is what I saw already.
905  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CloudThink.IO removed management pictures after being caught with stealing on: June 03, 2015, 04:04:35 PM
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:  My affiliate reports show a total of around $1.200 earned by referrals made only from Bitcointalk in the past 2 days! Don't forget to add your affiliate link from here: https://cloudthink.io/idevaffiliate/   and earn much more!

I ask all users who received commissions to post a confirmation to this thread, I don't want to make this information public if you don't want it to be public. Thank you!
So, he claiming $24,000 (100+ btc) "investments" in a few days just from Bitcointalk signatures? Lol.

(Although I know people who had a lot of coins in PBMining too, guess some are naive, but 24k in few days seems bit ambitious.)
906  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for Legitimate Investing Services on: June 03, 2015, 01:04:43 PM
My math is very right and obviously at 100% compounding. My point was not from an investors perspective but from a company that supposed to have a "daily 5% profit magic formula".

If you can make 5% profit, you will have after x days:

Day 1: 100*1.05 = $105
Day 2: 105*1.05 = $110.25
Day 3: 110.25*1.05 = $115.76
Day 4: 115.76*1.05 = $121.55
Day 5: 121.55*1.05 = $127.63
Day 6: 127.63*1.05 = $134.01

So if you, as the company, start with $100 and keep investing your own profits too. You will have $5,421,184,158 after a year. Please don't tell me that this is not realistic, that is my whole point.

Also their own site has a calculator too https://bitcoin-income.com/?a=cust&page=plans Fill in 100 BTC and 100% compounding at the "Day 180 plan". You will see the return is exactly as the result I got at "Day 180" even with my wrong math. Dude.

Third one, i can't wrap head around how it is faster to verify this than second method. After thinking a while its because you need to only copy one value from game (nonced client seed) while you always have (untill you change it) nonced server seed in script already.

Yes. Let's do 10 bets w/o and w/ nonce:

Serverseed per roll without nonce
1. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
2. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
3. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
4. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
5. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
6. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
7. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
8. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
9. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
10. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
11. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
12. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
13. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
14. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
15. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
16. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
17. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
18. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.
19. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
20. Verify if hash was really correct and check bet result.

Serverseed with nonce
1. Click to see serverseed hash & copy it, change clientseed, make bet.
2. Make bet.
3. Make bet.
4. Make bet.
5. Make bet.
6. Make bet.
7. Make bet.
8. Make bet.
9. Make bet.
10. Make bet.
11. Get new serverseed hash to reveal old serverseed, verify hash and check bet results.

I didn't look much into your provably fair method yet, but basically you should use the "serverseed, clientseed, nonce" method used by all popular dice sites since this is considered the technically most solid implementation and is most easy for the user to verify their results.
So from what i understand, correct me if im wrong, diffirence between our current secret_key and nonce is that user don't need to wait until midnight to verify bet.
Yes and no. I guess you can have:

- serverseed, clientseed, secret (you have this now?)
- serverseed, clientseed
- serverseed, clientseed, nonce

The first one is bad because people need to wait. The second one is bad because it requires the seeds to be different each roll you make, which makes verifying much more difficult and time consuming - even though it is instant. The third one is the most popular and best way, the same seeds are used over many many rolls until the player decides to reset the serverseed and see the revealed unhashed seed to verify _all_ the previous rolls in 1 time.

"We are provably fair. Trust us. You can validate it "in a few days". In the meantime, bet all you want, you can trust us. Oh, and by the way, ignore all the contradictory 'this is how you verify' on the website, because in a forum thread we posted the real method. Which, you know, you can use in "a few days"".
You laugh same way on luckyb.it? They are doing same thing. Revealing salt after X period of time.
A daily secret should be only used in blockchain games - because they cannot have user-specific serverseeds (most don't require any account.) Luckyb.it is a blockchain game. Your site is not a blockchain game. Therefor it should be very easy to just let players reset/reveal the serverseed on their convenience - and not let them wait.

I didn't look much into your provably fair method yet, but basically you should use the "serverseed, clientseed, nonce" method used by all popular dice sites since this is considered the technically most solid implementation and is most easy for the user to verify their results.

edit: had a quick look at Quincunx thing and couldn't change client seed + was serverside made. So yeh this site is not provably fair AT ALL and the site can generate all results of a player. So definitely agree with "keepinquiet" and people shouldn't be playing here at least until the provably fair implementation is fixed. I see you are working on it, so GL.
911  Economy / Gambling / Re: sawdice the New Age of Dice - Let's play a game. on: June 03, 2015, 04:47:02 AM
Just FYI I am planning to do exactly that (rating provably fair implementations in transparent way) for dice sites. I really do hate the average review/overview site too since I know for a fact several sites even charge a fee for a (good) review and all reviews are very subjective anyway. That's also the reason why I started my site since it's completely based on numbers/stats and facts. The only thing I am planning to review is the provably fair implementation of all sites and truthfully I expect to have criticism for all sites, even popular ones (JD/PD and such are close to perfect tho :p but still got some small things :x)

I will probably not look at casino sites though TBH.

Hehe thanks, I guess spotting alt accounts will never be more easy... just follow the neg trusts on my account the following days lol.

But seriously, I was definitely still willing to change my trust in case he would have been just a bit more transparent. The latest "answer" he gave was one of the worst possible replies, basically:

"All our information on our site is wrong because of my staff.. whoops! But it isn't cloudmining even though the whole website says that. Just other things that makes us very profitable. We have really a great business model. Big Investors have invested large sums in the last years but still we are asking for your money."

Sounds great man.

So just got a request, or actually more like a threat, that I must remove the negative trust or else he will request a ban and force other users to give me negative feedback.

Hello,

Please remove the negative feedback from my profile, none of it is true. You are hurting the credibility of my campaign, please remove the feedback immediately. I will confirm your account ban request and instruct users to give you negative feedback for posting false feedback about campaign.

Thank you!

I still fully stand behind the following and I also agree with all other questions raised by others in the above posts. The lack of answering these questions or giving some transparency - but instead - threatening me, is very concerning for any potential customer you might have.

First of all got 2 PMs during my sleep, so for full transparancy:
Hello,

Please read my long post from the CloudThink Signature Campaign Thread as it explains a lot of your accusations. Please understand that my user has been purchased so we do not have any affiliation to its activity prior to the purchase. I hate that I have to do this because we already know about your intentions, but I can give you the proof needed to confirm that the account was purchased. Do you want me to provide it to you? I will also post it to the official thread and inform everyone about what this.

Thank you!
Due to recent developments and at the recommendation the moderators, I formally request you to remove your negative feedback immediately or we must confirm our request to ban your user indefinitely. We strongly request you remove the feedback voluntarily and avoid this kind of things. I and also CloudThink as whole hate being forced to send this kind of messages to someone, we would never want this kind of behaviour to be in our company's profile.
Please do not take this as a threat. We are trying to be as respectful and diplomatic as possible but your actions and feedback has done damage to our business which we can not recover from you.

I apologize if my words have offended you in any way, we are only starting to understand how this community has been hit with companies which stole money from the community or from their clients. It is very disappointing that this kind of bad image has been attributed to CloudThink. We really hoped to give the community a image of trust and much more. I am sure time will convince you eventually, even if we'll have to wait an year.

Separated from my request above, can you please tell me if my mistakes on this forum, attitude or anything else I have done or said has given you any encouragements to think that CloudThink has any wrong intentions? My superiors will want some kind of explanation why I had to dedicate this kind of ugly action against you and maybe other users. They might see your point as I also see it after reading some horrible threads about thefts at a grand scale, but I hope they see mine also, I have no other option than to think of every fair way to delay this kind of far-fetched accusations until the company can gain true respect from the public.
This company is also the best thing that has ever happened to me and I must protect it, even if I know your suspicions are somewhat founded due to all the bad history which is plaguing this forum and the Bitcoin community in general.

I hope our next messages can be somewhat nice-intended, I am growing sick of having to be on the defensive side of this community, it is causing me some serious distress.

Secondly, CloudThink, I am not on a witch-hunt. This only cost time for me and there is no personal benefit. Quite literally the only reason why I am doing this is because I have seen too many (cloudmining) scams before and "CloudThink" gives me a lot of reason to think your site is very likely a scam in the making. And I do think it benefits the community to prevent scams. In my previous post I said I was hoping you would reply, because I very much like to be convinced that you are not a scam (so I would remove my negative trust.) So far your reply did not convince me.

1. For users asking for mining address, mining pool and other mining information:

How in the hell did you arrive at the conclusion that we are offering cloud mining? Did you even bother to READ OUR WEBSITE? Someone starting asking questions like: "where's the mining address?" "show us the mining address" and then others with NO RESEARCH WHATSOEVER have started to ask these questions and calling us a scam or ponzy because we don't want to provide this information.

THIS SHOULD BE VERY CLEAR IF YOU DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO READ OUR WEBSITE: https://cloudthink.io

..

WE DO NOT SELL CLOUD MINING CONTRACTS, CLOUD MINING HASHING POWER or anything like this.
We do not offer users mining power or mine in to their address. We do not give any public access to our mining farm.
We didn't say anything about cloud mining or offering hashing power to our users. This is NOT our business plan, this would be very a inefficient plan in comparison to what we do.

This and many other details about our business plan and services are available on our website.

Did you bother to read at least the first part of our posts? What about this one: Please note that we do not offer cloud mining contracts. I explained this to Muhammed Zakir over and over again but his lasts posts say: mirjangka couldn't provide me mining details.
I have read your site very well. Here are some quotes from your own site:

Quote
Our facilities in Taiwan are mining Bitcoins at a steady rate, and best of all, at great value. Initially, our cloud mining packages were only available to certain invite-only investors. We have since moved forward. Our current public offering is limited and represents our confident step towards building the future of Bitcoin together.
How does this not imply that you are "now" offering your mining power to the public?

Pretty clear you are offering cloud mining...

Actually you have a whole page dedicated to cloud mining "Cloud Mining 101" and saying how good your cloud mining platform is.

I agree with tmfp.... What is it you do again?!

I will do anything in my power to provide the community with documents, explanations, technical data about our mining farm but it would be perfect if you could at least read our website and talk about our Strategy or Investment Plans, not this useless information.
Okay, looking forward, also include some photos and signed bitcoin addresses please. This kind of transparency is exactly what I am asking for.

The user which started the post in Scam Accusations (ReckLess.6) is in fact NLNico which is on a personal vendettap
This is incorrect. I agree it would be better if those newbie accounts wouldn't join the discussion or just on their main accounts. But I do not have any alt account except for unused "DiceSites". Since I am in fact posting my own accusations on my own account, I do not see any reason for me to be posting under newbie accounts.

He is acting like we deleted his posts or other to cover or tracks (really???)
I never said this. I replied to this topic because it seems fair to me to keep it out of the signature campaign topic. If this topic didn't exist yet, I would have made a new one.

Due to recent developments and at the recommendation the moderators, I formally request you to remove your negative feedback immediately or we must confirm our request to ban your user indefinitely. We strongly request you remove the feedback voluntarily and avoid this kind of things.

I think there is still enough reason to think your site is a scam in the making because of the following points:

- You claim to offer no cloud mining at all and even imply that you are insulted that we say this. Even though your site is full of information about you offering cloud mining.
- If you are offering cloud mining, I think it is fair to ask for some kind of proof and transparency considering all the scams we have seen in the "cloudmining industry".
- If you are a manufacturer of, I quote: "we are always trying our best to develop the best mining hardware in the world", you should give some transparency about that. This is a pretty big statement.
- I think the faking of the employees photos is still notable. Sure you can give a reason about "security", but I cannot imagine a legitimate company doing this.

Overall the contradictions in your statements about cloud mining are very concerning. You are basically saying "give us some money and we give 3%-80% profit with mining stuff and we guarantee profits", then wrap it all up in some "nice information" of how you have the best mining equipment in the world and how great your cloud mining platform is. For me this is still a clear sign of the typical "cloudmining" scam and therefor I am keeping my negative trust. You are free to request a ban for me, in my opinion my arguments are fair.

My conclusion is still exactly the same with your latest reply in this topic. So good luck with pursuing your threat.

BET ID is a randomly generated number which is our 'variable' in the provably fair concept.
Are you sure? So this isn't the bet ID that increases just with 1? If so do we get a hash of this in advance? TBH the whole implementation seems strange, I would assume PvP just works like this:

- Player 1 makes random seed that is long enough to not be bruteforced (is made by default randomly in browser - not on server.) Sends hash to site (not the actual seed yet!) together with amount, Hi/Lo choice.
- Player 2 does the same.
- Both players see each others hash and have few seconds to note it down.
- Both players send the actual seeds to server (only now!) and result is calculated just based on these seeds together.

This way neither the players or site knows the outcome in advance, even if the site + one of the players collude together (eg house cheating by faking a player.)

0.01% of $1,000 is $10
Uhm no. You might be confused with the difference in showing fractional numbers with percentage vs decimals.

amount = fraction by using percentage = simple fraction (fraction by using decimals)
$1,000 = 100% = 1/1 (1)
$100 = 10% = 1/10 (0.1)
$10 = 1% = 1/100 (0.01)
$1 = 0.1% = 1/1000 (0.001)
$0.1 = 0.01% = 1/10000 (0.0001)
$0.01 = 0.001% = 1/100000 (0.00001)
$0.001 = 0.0001% = 1/1000000 (0.000001)

I would like to try your site, but it seems no one is online. Sad

Please note there is a 0.001% fee to all CashOuts by PvPDice.com, this is equivalent to $1 fee for a $1,000 deposit.

Is the fee 0.001% (you take $1 for a $100,000 deposit) or 0.1% (you take $1 for a $1,000 deposit)?

The fee for both is 0.001%

As noted the site says: $1 fee for a $1,000 deposit. That is 0.1% not 0.001%. So which one is it? Just a fee on wagered/profit amount would be better IMO.

To obtain the result, you need four things:

1) BetID: You can obtain this from your "My Bets" column.

2) No. of challenges: Number of challenges issued to opponent.

3) Total Bets: This is the total PVP games played by user, this can be obtained from the "Profile Settings" page on the top left corner of the page. Please note this must be your total bets at the time of the game; not to be confused with your current Total Bets.

4) SEED: This is automatically generated by the server, although you may change it whenever you like; found on the top left corner of the page next to the logout button.

Steps to obtain a user's roll number:

1) Combine (1#2#3#4) in sequence.

I don't understand your provably fair method at all. It seems the 4 variables to calculate the roll outcome are known to the player in advance. This would mean the player can generate their own results in advance and therefor cheat.
917  Economy / Gambling / Re: (Popular) betting strategies that aren't Martingale? on: June 02, 2015, 09:41:37 AM
So anyway, I was thinking about making a series of blog posts where I try out a number of popular betting strategies on various dice sites to compare the results of different strategies and techniques.
TBH that sounds pretty bad and useless because of variance.

Better run millions of simulation bets in own script with the several strategies and make some cool analysis based on that.

I suppose that would be the best thing to do. But since all betting patterns and strategies will be losing over those million rolls, I would only expect to see things like which strategy starts to fail first. Some of them may fail faster than the other, and some will fail in a matter of a few hundred rolls.

Yeh, perhaps more like simulate 100,000 players with 1,000 rolls each for each strategy. I meant more like simulate bigger numbers to see if there is something interesting Tongue

919  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question/opinions on pocketdice's claim of provably fair. on: June 02, 2015, 04:50:22 AM
Correct, nice found again. To be provably fair it should generate the number sets based on both the server- and clientseed[1]. Actually it will be easier to just generate 2 numbers 1-6. Ideally it will not be "per roll" anyway, but just the "nonce way". There are several problems with "per roll" even in a perfect technical implementation, for example: the player has to write down each seed between each roll and verify per roll (instead of just copying 1 seed for hundreds of rolls.)

Again, I agree that, in theory, currently it is too easy for Pocket Dice to cheat with the current provably fair implementation. The client's seed is not really used to generate the random result. But I can still imagine it is not wrong on purpose - it should be changed though.

Possible better way: Basically any dice site calculates a number between 0-100. And it is very easy for them to generate 2 numbers between 0-100 from 1 "result hash" (they actually do this already if the result is more than 100.) Then just make 0-16.6666=1,16.6666-33.3333=2, ....., 83.3333-100=6. So the "normal" provably fair method with "nonce method", used on all popular dice sites, can definitely be implemented here and that would be much better.

Or just take set of 12 numbers and do the Fisher-Yates shuffle with the sha2 of server+clientseed+nonce (and delimiters in between) as Mersenne Twister seed, I guess.

1. And ideally the client seed is not made with Math.random() like it is now.
920  Economy / Gambling / Re: PSA: dicebits.com lying about being provably fair. on: June 02, 2015, 04:11:48 AM
First of all, nice found.

The owners account was stolen (doesn't seem like his fault but I didn't read much of it): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=964525.180;topicseen This seems like the new account but no real posts yet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=515105 If he would post a new thread I will check their provably fair system a bit more and leave negative trust if needed. But at this point I cannot imagine people going to their site (and account "yussuf89" seems to be back to previous owner.)

Also no one should trust any of those CoinDice script sites! Their provably fair implementation is the worst anyway and cannot really be called provably fair, even if the server hash works out. See my post and dooglus' post for details. And they have several accusations of having serious vulnerabilities in their script that will get the site hacked - so no trusted site should use this script imo.
