21  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Cryptopia Judge: "1. Crypto is property 2. Even w/o keys, crypto remains yours" on: January 05, 2022, 05:24:45 PM
There ya go again. Reports are currently published only every 6 months.

Most recent report: here.

In a nutshell:

- Cryptopia Rescue case: data abuser has been found and sentenced; the fine and all costs have been paid.
- ex-employee theft: the assets stolen by an ex-employee have been recovered; the ex-employee will be sentenced soon.
- after having sent ID requests (check out my last update a few posts higher), these IDs are currently being verified. Next step will be verification of the claims of every identified user, which is scheduled for the next few months. Last step obviously will be payday. No date set yet, though.
- also reported in the previous report and still on-going: daily management investigation. No formal info yet.

So not that much new stuff to report for now.

Next report in June.
22  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cryptopia Rescue - warning Cryptopia liquidation - user information leaked on: January 05, 2022, 05:09:04 PM
Time flies, doesn't it.

This case has been settled and the person who abused the data has been convicted. Fine and costs have been settled.

As previous reported due to an error by court staff at the Christchurch High Court, information containing certain customer
data had been provided to an unauthorised third party. Orders were obtained from the High Court requiring the return and
deletion of the material provided in error. Those orders were not complied with and enforcement proceedings were filed.
In July 2021, by consent, the individual concerned admitted being in contempt of Court, and agreed to ongoing orders
designed to protect customer data. As part of this admission of contempt he incurred a fine of $7,500 of and agreed to pay
costs of $50,000. This receipt is reflected in the Receipts and Payments section of this report.

I talked to 15 billionaires last week.

Every one of them asked about #Bitcoin

Not a single one asked about Cardano, Ripple, Hex, Doge, or NFTs

2:44 AM · Jan 3, 2022·Twitter for Android

Now that I think about it, I might be talking to 15 billionaires, right here on this thread !

Sure, and what were these 15 billionaires asking about before 2021? So from now on, I am supposed to support BTC even more, because of these billionaires' topic of conversation?

Am I really the only one on these boards who doesn't give a shit about what these 15 billionaires asked about?

Seriously, what a lame tweet Roll Eyes

edit: probably the first time EVER that I used the word 'lame' on these boards. #nohomo tho

This is a bitcoin forum that just happens to have an altcoin section

Yes. How about getting rid of the altcoin section? Smiley

Indeed I used report to admin and it did not have any (visible) consequences. Smiley

In that case, the admins did not conclude that it was something that was punishable, although I understood from your post that it could be a death threat to you and your family. As far as I know, such things are punished with a permanent ban, although it all depends on how someone interprets such threats.

Unfortunately, everyone who does a lot of reports accepts the risk that they themselves will become targets of attacks on a personal level. Luckily I see that such things have not affected you too much and that you will make even more effort to thank all these spammers for their kind words Wink

Indeed. Cool The messages did not contain death threats, only sexually explicit stuff. So in a way, I was rather disappointed it was only a threat.

Jokes aside, the best way of getting these guys out is by taking a list of participants of a random signature campaign and checking their history one by one. Report the shitposters until they give up. The only way of getting them to realize their behavior is unacceptable, is by hitting them where it hurts: in their wallet. In general, they will leave the forum, because being a part of this community or trying to learn more about crypto is absolutely not what they are here for.

FYI I have nothing against signature campaigns. Only against shitposters.

(...) Some forum members live in the delusion that they can send PM with any content and that it will not have any consequences.

Indeed I used report to admin and it did not have any (visible) consequences. Smiley
27  Other / Meta / Re: Top reporters on: November 14, 2021, 12:01:56 PM

Only noticed this thread today and completely surprised to be so high in the list. I do take some pride in my 99% accuracy rating (with almost all of the 1% being due to double reporting......  Cool ), as it confirms my "firm but fair" policy. Smiley

Bringing this gang of 13 shitposters down was great. They haven't been back since June.

Also, the fact that I'm openly pointing fingers to certain campaigns packed with shitposters, has made me receive plenty of fan mail by PM, from people who explain to me in colorful terms several things they'd like to do to me and to my mother. Such nice people. Cool

Some extra help in the non-English threads might be welcome. I'm quite sure they're full of shitposters but it's difficult to prove if you don't speak their language.

Further on: let's keep it up.

I seriously consider buying more around 20,000 dollar.

Sure, if you had a time machine you could do that.

That aged well  Wink

It seems we've reached the point where WO's so bored with ATHs, they all got out and invested their BTC back into stonks.

They all were so bored
From looking at all time highs
Thus got back to stonks

Als ze daarna de rekening afsluiten, so be it.

Not sure if this has been explained clearly enough to some of you, but it's BTC that's currently at $66,000, not Merit.

I'd say we'll have a laugh about this in a few months, but in truth, we probably won't, because by then, we'll probably have forgotten completely about this "just another FUD".

^ ^ ^ Don't tell me we're talking about that Tesla guy again...
