962  Other / Meta / Re: Point of view needed on discussion mega threads on: November 03, 2019, 01:48:09 PM
Necroposting  can be easily stopped if there a rule that a thread gets automatically locked if there is no post in a month time.
This should be easy to implement in order to stop the Necroposting thing.

I don't think that's the topic of this thread. But since you asked, I prefer one thread per topic than 37 different threads about the same topic.

That said, the original post is completely useless spam. Point of view needed? Roll Eyes Stop kidding me.
963  Other / Off-topic / Re: BurguerShop - Burgers Franchise on: November 02, 2019, 12:51:14 PM
Looks like I won't find anyone qualified here, I'll do it myself

Dozens of the members of this forum community are leading a daily fight against the spam that has been polluting this legendary forum.

Coming here as a Newbie, going straight to the off-topic forum without any input whatsoever to the value of these boards, whining about "I'll do it myself then".

Piss off mate. If you can do it yourself, why search an investor? Out of charity? Don't make us laugh.

WATCH OUT PEOPLE, THIS REEKS OF SCAM.

"Burguer" Roll Eyes looks like you're not very qualified either.
964  Local / Meetings (Nederlands) / Re: Maandelijkse sociale gathering in Arnhem Bitcoinstad on: November 02, 2019, 12:45:20 PM

Cool)
965  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Thorough analysis: Terms&Conditions & Privacy on crypto exchanges !BE WARNED! on: November 02, 2019, 12:27:23 PM
* COINEXCHANGE:

COINEXCHANGE CLOSES DOWN VERY SOON. CHECK THEIR WEBSITE.

1. Terms of Use:

I think they invented or copy-pasted most of this stuff themselves. I'll remain polite and say it sounds pseudo-legal. It's some kind of legally-sounding text, formulated in a bit of an amateurish way, sometimes even contradicting themselves, probably in an effort to try to dismiss as much liability as possible. Wink Or maybe they were afraid of copyright claims for copying other people's Terms of Use. Cool

I did some cursory investigation of Coinexchange's T&C and the same text (in various forms) appears over several different sites: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1532173.msg52742077#msg52742077

Doesn't really matter now, of course.

For a while, Novaexchange had T&Cs which were copy-pasted from Cryptopia. The most damning thing was that they forgot to remove references to the Cryptopia Marketplace (which Novaexchange did not have).

Well, it does matter for the other exchanges that still exist. If the T&Cs sound as if they've been written by amateurs, the exchange is probably led by amateurs.

NovaExchange closed down last week, so it's just another huge warning sign. READ THE T&Cs.
966  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Thorough analysis: Terms&Conditions & Privacy on crypto exchanges !BE WARNED! on: November 01, 2019, 03:45:00 PM
Spring cleaning in Exchange land. Embarrassed I'd dare to say that the warnings I expressed in the OP, more than a year ago, were sadly completely justified. Cryptopia went bankrupt. CoinExchange is closing down. Nauticus still hasn't restarted its activities.

Should you have any coins left on Cryptopia, consider filling in a claim. You will need evidence of your claims, and you will not be surprised that KYC (or rather ID) will naturally be necessary. In any case, I hope you didn't lose a lot...

As for CoinExchange, withdraw your coins before 1st of December 2019.

Make sure you don't need to learn this lesson in a hard way: don't leave your coins longer than necessary on an exchange and never invest more than you can afford to lose.
967  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers for more than a year. on: November 01, 2019, 02:49:16 PM
So you're saying you expected bounty spammers to actually read? You bumped the thread, that's enough to trigger new posts Tongue

The fact that these projects are long gone from our boards (even for important news like the news I posted), but that spammers are still there, makes my heart bleed. BTCtalk is clearly not the main source for crypto stuff anymore and that's a sad thing. But this is just a personal remark on the side.

NB: And again, why aren't these posters banned forever? Maybe serious projects would consider staying in our boards then.

Proof of participation in a bounty campaign that finished a year ago... Angry really, such posters should get banned forever, if this isn't pure spam, I don't know what is.

They said exended was something regarding bounty and will be paid soon so lets wait for team steps this week.

Bounty has been paid out. I hope you were on time because it's too late now. I've posted all info in the Bounty thread a few days ago, so you can check it out over there and maybe still contact them to get your tokens.

So the swap vote has opened a few weeks ago. More information on this link: https://blog.getchange.com/all-you-need-to-know-about-cag-token-swap/

What's your opinion on this swap? Sadly, I seem to be banned from their Telegram channel so I can't follow up on the news and opinions... Embarrassed
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN|ICO] Nauticus - Better Banking & E-Commerce using Blockchain Technology on: November 01, 2019, 11:37:42 AM
Looks like you haven't been on Telegram for a long time. The Telegram channel is suspended. It's impossible to ask questions. There is no news at all.

I am quite shocked about the fact that people don't continue to discuss these projects (and recent evolution) in the BTCtalk boards.

FYI, one of the people in the Unofficial Nauticus Telegram channel claims to have been to Nauticus HQ in Australia. He says there's still activity in their offices.

(...)

This is a dead coin and proven scam there is no talented dev involve in this project. It was being created just to scam the people but big players always trying to create fake hype and this time no money left to make it pump again so be careful and stay away from this.

It did start out well though. Remember the time they sponsored a soccer match? And look at the number of pages in this thread. Support was huge. However, I don't see a lot of community supported projects which are successful. Another one was/is B3 coin (or KB3 coin), which is rumored to still be under further development, but most of the time it simply looks dead.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DID I MAKE A MISTAKE INVESTING IN BITCOIN? on: October 31, 2019, 05:33:47 PM
You know this question is unavoidable...

DID I MAKE A MISTAKE INVESTING IN BITCOIN?

(...)
What will be your response to this question?

You ask people on a Bitcoin supporters forum if you made a mistake by buying Bitcoin. What the hell do you think the response will be???

What would people on a BMW drivers forum reply if you asked them if you made a mistake investing in a BMW?

My response is: your post is spam.

Just read the rubbish that the mass media prints, and you will realise how stupid remainers are

Hear hear. The New York Times, CNN and The Daily Mirror are my most trusted sources: if you read the exact opposite of what they write, they're always right. 100% success rating guaranteed.
975  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: October 31, 2019, 05:14:08 PM
Having read most of the ban appeal and unban begging threads in the Meta thread, I can officially confirm that most of them are so bad they are actually funny. I'll spare you the efforts of copypasting them all and let you search yourself. (hint: go to the Meta forum, close your eyes and click anywhere, big chance you've clicked on one of them...)
976  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns causing lifeless posts in Gambling section on: October 31, 2019, 05:08:15 PM
Let me remind you of this post I've written months ago: bounty managers should be held responsible for their participants.

I've also tried warning several managers about the spammers in their campaign. Some clearly told me to mind my own business or never replied.

There's plenty of reasons to support this point of view: it's a way of getting rid of spam without having to get rid of the concept of signature campaigns. Also, the gains would be higher for honest participants, since the spammers would lose their part of the bounty, thus making the total amount available per (honest) participant.

The only way of finding a solution is by contacting the bounty manager and urging him to keep his threads and campaigns clean, by reporting spam posts and by kicking spammers immediately out of the campaign.

However, you risk getting kicked out of the campaign yourself, so most participants - spammer or not - just keep their mouths shut, thus keeping the current situation alive...
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eBTC | The New (ERC20) Bitcoin on: October 29, 2019, 09:22:24 PM
Launch of the portal beta is open since yesterday. This is the last message posted on the telegram. I'm quite impressed for the beginning of a beta. the ambition is there. mix Ebay and kucoin for example so great potential if it works, especially since they are able to rebound with the problems of the past.

Not much left of their ambition now, right? Making a new account to shill a coin, is really a bit too easy, mate. Look where the beta by which you were quite impressed, is standing now. I bet we won't hear a lot from your account anymore either.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Borocoin (BORO) on: October 29, 2019, 08:36:52 PM
Hello Everyone! I am Borocoin(BORO)  CEO!

What is this, 2017? Your lack of content and your horrible logo made me believe this was actually a joke, but it looks like you're really trying to sell this stuff. Which makes it actually even funnier.

Honestly, do you really think anyone would take this seriously?

Just to make sure no-one does: watch out for this project, people. Several threads opened by OP.
979  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: New ICO - 2019 on: October 29, 2019, 08:26:23 PM

FYI, the bounties are being distributed as we speak: check out the official FANCHAIN page to get your bounties!

Update: I confirm I've received my tokens in only a few hours of time, and they are being distributed right now - this is the address where the tokens are sent from (Etherscan link).
