Not sure it's been mentioned here before. If it has, I'll lock the thread. I haven't really been following the whole story (I don't care about this project) so I'll let you make your own conclusions. Some guy on reddit was the first to talk about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/aimysg/the_apollo_currency_team_apl_just_engaged_in_a/Pump n' dump Updates 7:10 AM update: APL Telegram Channel put on read-only mode for 10 minutes 7:25 AM update: Re-enabled, the admins are now threatening to mute anyone who mentions anything about the dump and encouraging people to "buy cheap": https://imgur.com/a/xyptHBp8:05 AM update: They are BANNING everyone from the telegram who tries to talk about the situation in a negative light, asks a question about what happened, or tries to ask any of these questions over PM to another member: https://imgur.com/a/kWx3ULe8:07 PM update: Bitmart's entire exchange has went completely offline as well (the main exchange for trading APL). APL is now only actively trading on Coinbene. To Check Statuses: Link to Bitmart. Link to Coinbene. 9:10 AM update: APL Telegram is saying everyone is buying APL on Coinbene (only active APL exchange left right now) to get back in. However, every one of these "buy" trades is actually just a wash trade and never actually appears on the exchange - it's conducted between the highest bid and lowest ask. You can watch the order book for 30 seconds and look at the prices of the last "buy orders" to confirm that this is wash trading. 9:14 AM update: The APL founder Steve McCullah is finally in the Telegram, he has not acknowledged the situation yet and has said "everything is great": https://imgur.com/a/idnE6wH9:18 AM update: Steve confirms everything will be fine and includes rocket ship emoji's in his post to ensure his loyal telegram followers that this coin is still going to the moon: https://imgur.com/a/BkjA0MA9:35 AM update: I'm seriously having issues not typing anything in the Telegram so I can continue to provide updates. It's getting tough watching Steve continue to ignore the situation, using rocket ship emoji's, and acting like everything is just perfect after (allegedly) dumping a ton of coins earlier this morning on investors. All opposition or people speaking out in the group have already been banned and messaging has slowed down a lot. Steve is telling people not to worry about anything as there will be a big announcement today or tomorrow: https://imgur.com/a/NKFTkM39:53 PM update: Steve is has just continuing on with the "everything is fine" narrative and not acknowledging anything. 9:55 PM update: I just want to make people aware that this could be happening but by no means definitely is (this is theory, not fact, but should be considered given the situation): MASSIVE buying up of all the sell orders just appeared in the order books on Bitmart, the main exchange for APL and the place where Steve or the team deposited the majority of their APL: https://imgur.com/a/LrhNnQnSteve starts talking about the APL price and how it's going back up again RIGHT as these buys happened: https://imgur.com/a/gobtQUfIt seems very obvious to anyone watching the Telegram that he is trying to cover his tracks by buying up back to a reasonable price so the price of APL dropping 78% in 1 minute earlier doesn't seem apparent. Like I said, it's what it looked like but there's no way to confirm that's actually what just happened.

Last night, Drouet published an open letter addressed to Macron : Basically, he says that the movement will intensify, that the coming weeks are gonna be tough for the country, that the GJs will find new ways to get their message heard. He asks Macron to listen to the people, he says he's the one who has the power to stop the violence but if he keeps refusing to listen, the people will take back what's theirs, the power. He ends the letter by asking Macron to meet the Gilets Jaunes (he hasn't done it yet, he sent others to represent him). Of course, all the media here are talking about threats. Personally, I think Drouet is just saying that the one in charge (the President) is the one who can stop this nonsense. So why not do it ?

France is a monarchy and Macron is a king. He has such a high opinion of himself you wouldn't believe. The arrest of Drouet ? In France, we would say it's just adding oil onto fire. But I actually think he doesn't care about the protests, he thinks he's way above that. You can see it in the decisions he takes, one step forward (probably because someone told him he should do something to calm the public), two steps backwards (because he really doesn't give a f...).
In France, there is what we call "l'Affaire Benalla" right now, a real mess that could cause Macron lots of problems but he doesn't care !! He thinks he's above the law. When the scandal came out, his exact words were "Come and get me !" Who says that ? Seriously !
It's a shame most of you don't speak French because there are a lot of videos of him showing contempt for the people. His personality is one of the reasons why people are in so much anger right now, those protests could have happened years ago but his attitude has been the trigger.

I suspect that the movement will lose size and popularity over time as Macron both cracks down and gives some concessions, until the remnants can be safely wiped out.
That's not the case right now. People have been in the streets during Christmas time, with low temperatures, they're not gonna stop now especially since every action taken by Macron is another insult to them. Right now, his great new idea is supposed to be a national debate... well it's a joke. There is no debate, only him imposing his ideas (he "talks" with French mayors... they listen). European elections are coming and he's trying to buy some time. At the end of this debate, he will make a few proposals (he already knows which ones lol)... it will take a few days for people (and the media) to realize they're useless... nothing will have changed. To avoid this I think you'd need to create a sort of parallel government which can claim widespread support from the movement as a whole, and then compete with Macron's regime either within the current framework, or compete with the entire old government for legitimacy. Seems to be the only way out, some kind of apolitical movement who would interfere with the current government decisions. The Gilets Jaunes agree on the most important proposals : -a fairer tax system -a better control on state expenses -the RIC (the referendum you probably heard about) -a higher minimum wage And probably a few other things but these don't seem undoable right ? P.S : what's more violent ? Physical violence ? Like punching someone in the face ? Psychological violence ? Like making someone unable to provide for his family ?

Two major executives of Komid, a cryptocurrency exchange platform based in South Korea, have been sentenced to prison, according to a report by local Korean news outlet Blockinpress.
The two individuals were convicted of falsifying trading volumes on the exchange. Choi Hyunsuk, CEO of Komid, is one of the indicted individuals. He was given a three-year sentence for his role in the scam, while the other executive, In-House Director Park Mo, is set to be jailed for two years as well. https://www.ccn.com/korean-crypto-exchange-executives-fake-trading-volumes-earn-prison-sentences/Guys whats going on? How the Coming Flood Season Helps Cryptocurrency Mining in China https://www.asiacryptotoday.com/how-the-coming-flood-season-helps-cryptocurrency-mining-in-china/"there may be hope for those miners in the middle kingdom in the form of a gift from nature. The present falls in the province of Sichuan and is in reference to the 1,419 rivers that run through the area which are connected to the Yangtze River, the third longest river in the world. These rivers are the force that powers the electricity for the nation and drives the 3,267 large and small hydropower stations in the country. During the months of April and May, there are usually flood seasons, prompting the energy power to rise and with it electricity prices to fall in the following months. This has prompted some to speculate that this could cause a reemergence in mining in the province and a battle for supremacy of the region between mining groups, as cheap electricity prices tempt them to resume or increase business. " “Assuming that the difficulty of mining the whole network is constant, the electricity bill has a serious negative correlation with the mining revenue. For every 1% increase in the electricity bill, the mining revenue will be reduced by 15%. When the electricity fee reaches 0.42 yuan/KWh, the mining revenue is 0.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7pJnTgnorg

So I don't bet on sports anymore. I used to, 15 years ago or something. At the time, the betting sites were PaddyPower, Gamebookers, Betoto, Interwetten and I was registered on all of them or almost. Why ? To get the better odds and to have more opportunities of sure bets. I would bet on every thing and I mean everything. There were sports I knew a lot about (basketball, soccer...) and others I knew zero about (cricket, bowls, darts...) . My strategy wasn't based on logics but for the most part on stats and probabilities. Exemple ? Betting on the number of goals in the Dutch soccer championships. It was a very offensive championship with lots of goals scored and dominant teams (az alkmaar, ajax, feyenoord, psv...). Anyway, what I did was pick a high scoring team and wait for it to have a few consecutive games with a total of goals scored under3. And then I'd bet on 3 over. I made a lot of money like this. Probabilities : same things with odd or even results... like at the roulette table. Of course, I would lose at times but if I did, I would make the exact same bet the next time and make sure to get at least my money back. Ex: I'd bet 2 on an over 3 and lose... next week I'd bet 3... and if I lost again I'd bet 6 the next time etc, etc... Everything was recorded on my own sportsbook so I wouldn't lose track.
I would spend my entire day betting, following games and betting on them live. Live betting is the easiest and most secure way to make surebets. I'd pick games with the most chances to have odds reversed (volleyball is great for that... sets are always tight).
I also would bet on baseball, waiting for a strike or a hit, on darts (odd or even number)... stats and probabilities again.
And I was good at it, I would have lots of positive days... But I was also very bad at it at the same time. Why ? Because I would bet way too much and even though I would win 90% of the time, the 10% of losses were done with a much higher amount. I was the kind of guy who would bet 1000 euros on a 1.01 and lose my bet on a live game (ever seen Federer up two sets to nil , 5-3 in the third set and end up losing ? Well I have and it hurt!).
I don't know how you guys bet today as I completely lost touch with all of this. But if I may give some advice, whatever your strategy is, don't bet too much (I mean, just place a few easy bets here and there, don't bet 100 times a day), don't be too greedy and be patient. Fix yourself a limit for each bet (losing 1000 euros in one bet is not easy to fix... you'll have to take more risks to get them back and will probably lose even more).
Just thought I'd share. I recently found out about this part of the forum because of the signature campaigns I'm doing and it reminded me of that time. I don't know if you guys will read this and care or not. But I'm curious to read about how you guys bet today, what your strategies are and all...
Good luck to all of you !
