2041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 22, 2019, 07:39:56 AM

Just wanted to mention that PSG's Marco Verratti is supposed to be out for 3 weeks. He could miss the first leg against MU.
And since PSG desperately need to sign (even more now) a midfielder, this could be a big advantage for MU.

If you asked me 4-5 weeks ago I’d say PSG would humiliate United over 2 legs. Now Jose has gone the whole club has been given a big lift. It could be a lot closer now.

I don't know. I mean they got a great boost from Mou's sacking but a season is about ups and downs and though right now they're euphoric, all this energy spent might come back to bite them in the ass.
There's a reason why they played so terribly in the beginning of the season and it's not just the manager. They're not that good a team, especially defensively. I believe that in big games, the best teams on paper usually prevail and on paper, PSG is definitely a better team. When you got a trio like Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani against you, you better have a solid defense.
Anyway, a lot can happen in 3 weeks.
But yeah, it's definitely a closer game now than it was a few weeks ago.

Anyone knows why the Champions League thread is locked ?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1155775.0
Good question... Probably only mod hilariousandco can asnwer why this thread is locked. Maybe he will unlock it in February few days before round of 16 games.

Most likely exactly why hilarious has locked it. Sig spammers posting nonsense in there to reach their weekly quotas.

Like you say, the last 16 games aren’t until Feb so lots of time for shit to get posted in there.

Germany and France advance to the semis.
It looks like France / Denmark for us. I don't like that!

Good luck guys !  Wink

Personnally, I'd bet on Croatia now and wait for the odds to reverse and make it a surebet.
Hmmm...already too late, or not.

There will be no chance for surebet :-)
Cro can win this is all in their heads, arms and legs.

18-18 there it is.

EDIT : croatia up by 1

Since the fight is now over, I will just give few more days to this thread to be active and will now be locked "unless" some interesting event will happen along the way.

2,000 Ethereum wallets and $46k in Ether remain at risk.

We count about 2,000 remaining Cryptopia wallets holding a combined balance of ~380 ETH (about $46k). Most of these funds were deposited by Cryptopia users after the initial hack took place, apparently unaware of the security breach."

Sorry for quoting myself but that part really sucks.

How much have the thieves attempted to cash-out at exchanges?

...

Of the $16m that was stolen, the vast majority (~$15m) remains in two wallets controlled by the thieves:

0xaa923cd02364bb8a4c3d6f894178d2e12231655c)

...

The hack continued for days after Cryptopia discovered the breach.

...

After Cryptopia discovered the hack, they watched the funds continue to flow out of their wallets for four more days, seemingly powerless to stop it. As these wallets were not smart contracts, there should have been no technical complications preventing Cryptopia from securing the funds.

The only plausible explanation for Cryptopia's inaction is that they no longer had access to their own wallets.

It seems Cryptopia not only lost their funds, they also lost access to all, or nearly all, of their 76k+ Ethereum wallets.

One possible explanation is that Cryptopia had their private keys stored in a single server with no redundancy. If the thieves managed to gain access to this server, they could have downloaded the private keys before wiping them from the server, leaving Cryptopia unable to access their own wallets.

Mayweather is most likely the favorite but Pacquaio

For most people yes, not for me.
Did you see this weekend's fight ? Pacquiao was in great shape and he's still crazy fast, so explosive.
On the other hand, Mayweather hasn't had a real fight for a while and I suspect that if this ever happens, Pacquiao will want it more. I believe he'll be much more aggressive than he was in the first bout... plus there should be no shoulder issue this time.
2055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 143: Dillashaw vs Cejudo Prediction and Info Thread on: January 21, 2019, 04:23:26 PM
Pffft...  There was nothing more Dillashaw could do even if the ref gave him a couple of minutes more.  He'd just be eating 4 - 5 more punches before getting KO'd anyway imho.

You don't know that. Look at Cerrone who was very close to being stopped also. He came back and won.
It's probable that Dillashaw wouldn't have lasted much longer but you can't be 100% sure.

Virus Targeting Bitcoin Miners Spreading in China

https://www.trustnodes.com/2019/01/21/virus-targeting-bitcoin-miners-spreading-in-china

"A virus targeting bitcoin miners is apparently spreading in China with tens of thousands of dollars lost according to local media.

The virus appears to be targeting Bitmain’s antminers specifically with the hacker demanding 10 btc or the mining gear would be overheated.

The virus, however, can be eliminated by formatting the SD card of the infected miners which is somewhat similar to re-installing an operating system.

Yet that process can take four days during which an entire farm might be down as once a miner is affected, then it quickly spreads to all other miners."

Rakuten is actually international. They're big here in France.
