This story reminds me of a conversation I had with a guy at the HackerDojo a couple years back...

Are you able to get camel blacks or kamel reds?
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying, Mining and Storing Bitcoin on: September 12, 2016, 01:43:01 AM
I would strongly suggest avoiding cloud mining at this time.
1665  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: September 12, 2016, 01:18:47 AM
First off...In the true spirit of bitcoin...I would order a pizza to be delivered to your location or a location of your choosing.   Cheesy

I would then place everything into storage until we know what the Avalon7's deal is.

After the Avalon7's release or lack of release then no more than half of them would be re-invested into mining equipment.

A couple of them would go into permanent cold storage. (for that inevitable retirement yeah?)

1 of them would be exchanged for it's cash value.

1 of them would go into a wallet for loans.

And the remaining dust would go into my warm wallet for emergency spending/equipment repairs.
1666  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin investing? on: September 12, 2016, 12:17:21 AM

well today i read about this new exchange liqui.io that uses the trading fees to pay users interest rate if they keep money on the exchange. i suggest u keep a low amount though to be safe.

vircurex.com does the same thing, pays you a few times a day for holding a minimum balance of PPC LTC and BTC. "Interest" payments are a percent of trading fees.

...IIRC it's the oldest established exchange that hasn't gone under.

so there's that...
1667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Ethereum takeover Bitcoin? on: September 12, 2016, 12:00:27 AM
In theory any coin could over take any other coin.

So the answer is yes...it could.

Will it do this today or tomorrow? I highly doubt it.
1668  Other / Off-topic / Re: When was the first time you bought bitcoin? on: September 11, 2016, 11:48:41 PM
nice to hear that your friend helped you in a write way.. this is how we can help others to get involve in bitcoin. giving them bitcoin is not important. but we can describe bitcoin to our friends and family members that they can join here and earn with their own hard work..

I'm almost to the point of just buying a few of my friends a bitcoin miner so they'll actually understand whats going on here.
1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: wtf is happening? btc drop on: September 11, 2016, 11:30:25 PM
Simple...

It was pumped by a large transaction the other day.

And dumped by another large transaction.

Quite possibly the same entity.

You've got to move millions of USD in coins to change the price that much.

1672  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 16nm miner to be for sale in this September on: September 11, 2016, 10:34:06 PM
I think we're all pretty burnt on the concept of pre-ordering.
1673  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 16nm miner to be for sale in this September on: September 11, 2016, 01:06:10 PM
Based on previous recent Avalon, the 6 will cost a little more/MH than the S9 but will be a more robust (in most ways, their CONTROL stuff always left me very uncomfortable) and possibly more configurable design.

I wouldn't count on them being actual competition in a way that would push S9 pricing down.

As long as it doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner I'm sold.
1674  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is The Best site to buy BitCoin? on: September 11, 2016, 12:50:32 PM
I only ever use Coinbase and Cex.io for the purchase of btc.

Many people use localbitcoins.com and I have heard of some success using Ebay...but that's an over priced/high risk option.

Well... once upon a time I used mtgox but we'll save the horror stories for when you are older.

Honestly I prefer to "buy" bitcoins through ROI on the purchase of miners.
1675  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: September 11, 2016, 04:12:08 AM
True, not enough services accepting bitcoin.

At least we can re-invest them for better mining equipment. Cheesy
1676  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Which online wallet do you use? on: September 11, 2016, 04:02:03 AM
It's not free money, it's a percentage of transaction fees.
1677  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: September 11, 2016, 02:25:49 AM
While holding bitcoins allows you to sell them at an increase in value. I feel that it is important to remember that making purchases with bitcoin strengthens the economy the bitcoin is based on.

So accrue wealth, yes...but that wealth is nothing without purchases being made.

Save a little...spend a little.
1678  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S5 wireless on: September 11, 2016, 01:00:25 AM
I've found success using an antrouter to bridge connections for wifi mining.
1679  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] S7/S7-LN on: September 10, 2016, 10:49:16 PM
I am looking to incrementally fill a room with S7 miners.

Maybe purchase one every couple weeks.

Interested in either S7 or S7-LN

Shipping would be to 98826

Thanks
1680  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Which online wallet do you use? on: September 10, 2016, 09:42:11 PM
Lets not forget that vircurex.com is the only site to consistently pay out dividends on ltc, btc and ppc balances over a certain amount.
