1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1MB block size forever is just silly on: February 03, 2017, 07:40:27 PM
No one said that they want 1 MB forever except a very small amount of people. Everyone in Core devs except one dev wants to raise the blocksize after segwit gets activated. Activate segwit in order to safely raise the blocksize. No segwit? no blocksize increase, blame miners and not Core devs.

blame core..

pools wont move forward until there is good node validatability.
core decided to avoid getting nodes to update and show validatability.

core shot themselves in the foot thinking they could bypass security.

who wants to keep blocksize at 1mb? I was under the impression bitcoin was meant to scale.

Arguably segwit might not be the best implementation, but it is still a solution maybe...?
1242  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Zero One - a new church/religion on: February 03, 2017, 07:31:23 PM
I think that if you start a soft fork religion based off of bitcoin...that the purists might have a problem with it.

Back to the drawing board...
1243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: current cost of a pizza in bitcoins <.036086 on: February 03, 2017, 07:01:04 PM
I think it's easiest to compare a currency to pizza because it's something that many people can relate to.

And I'm not trying to remind anyone of hardship or glorify something that should not be bought to light.

You must realize however...that pizza transaction is one of the founding blocks of world adaptation and the story helps fuels it.

Spending bitcoin is as important as saving it.
1244  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can companies that produce mining equipment use devices? on: February 03, 2017, 06:50:24 PM
I don't think it's polite to bank on the miners taking the loss.

That's disrespectful to the people supporting your product line.

Moral standing would imply that you share the benefits with those buying your products.

To each their own...
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: current cost of a pizza in bitcoins <.036086 on: February 03, 2017, 06:21:04 PM
That's a one expensive pizza, I could have 3 large ones (40cm) for that price. Maybe it has slices of Kobe Beef on it?
Or maybe they are adding some extra fee to their bitcoin transactions?

It was just a large with cheese crust...+city tax, used a shift card so it cost whatever coinbase's "sell now" rate was.

maybe one of the employees ripped me off? wouldn't surprise me...now that I think about it they've been overcharging me for years now...it was those two fat ass mexican kids.

don't let the fat mexican kids ring you up if you eat here...the pizza's good otherwise.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / current cost of a pizza in bitcoins <.036086 on: February 03, 2017, 05:46:10 PM
We've came a long way.

1 bitcoin could buy you at least 28 pizzas at this time.

10,000 bitcoin could buy you pizza for life give or take a pizza (277,115ish)
1247  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Help me create an r4 contest what breaks next . on: February 03, 2017, 04:22:59 PM
If you want I can throw in some horror stories and pictures of burnt miners and psu's.

I'm kindof sad that my antminers have mined more wasps and spiders than ants...talk about product misinformation.

Here's hoping nothing breaks and you get at least .235

1249  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: consequences of the hash rate rise on: February 03, 2017, 01:01:02 PM
Hash rate increase is good for the network but most of these comes from big miners and could lead to centralisation and cabals running the mining activities.

It is certainly true that difficulty (in the general sense, not just numerically) will increase.
Mining profitably today is not nearly as simple as it was a year ago. The hardware is much more expensive and is less available than the CPUs and GPUs used for old fashioned mining.
If you want a profitable piece of hardware, you’re going to have to shell out some dough, and even then you may have to wait several months to receive a device that costs more to run than it mines.

but if you factor in the increase in price then you could still make more, although a decrease in price would see you without happiness.
1250  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: EOBot Mining software on computer legit? on: February 03, 2017, 02:19:05 AM
nicehash has an interesting algorithm that pays out 10 cents a day in bitcoin on quad thread intel chips if nothing else.

neoscrypt can be mined on cpu's(i'd suggest quad cores) and intel hd gpu's but we're talking altcoins to make a profit without waiting until 2025
From these numbers might as well have nodes all connected to each other to make it worth your while using these sites as intermediaries to your mining.
Just my thoughts on these type of questions about nicehash and eobot.
Haven't used them first hand but they're is always a catch when dealing with these sites.
They are after all looking out for themselves and that bottom line in making money.
Am I right in this assumption?

would you suggest a different node per computer? what kind of bandwidth would be required...?

1252  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Help me create an r4 contest what breaks next . on: February 02, 2017, 06:21:17 PM

actually  this is an interesting idea.   I have a spare s9 controller maybe I could rig up a 3 board setups

or 3 1 board setups?

antminers always lose 1 board...as if the configuration they have is always 1 board too many.
1253  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Antminer S7-LN No Power Supply .175 shipped CONUS on: February 02, 2017, 05:41:44 PM
Hi dave, do you have a miner status page?

I'm interested in this miner.

thanks.

1255  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Help me create an r4 contest what breaks next . on: February 02, 2017, 03:46:18 AM
I'm going to guess the 1 board unit lasts the longest.

What's stopping you from turning them into 2 board s9's?
1256  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS/WTB] multiple things, don't be shy. on: February 01, 2017, 09:56:54 PM
3x Futurebits delivered.

1 s7 shipped.

added breakout board.
1257  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] [EU] Antminer 54chip board on: January 31, 2017, 09:09:56 PM
Hi, What's a 54 chip board worth to you? You can pm me your request if you'd like.
1258  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] FutureBit Moonlander on: January 31, 2017, 09:02:32 PM
I'm looking to buy several FutureBit Moonlander's. Maybe someone wants to part with them. Preferably from Europe, but will look into all options.

Here is one store that sells them but with big markup - https://www.bitshopper.de/shop/scrypt-miner/usb-miner-scrypt/futurebit-moonlander/

that's not a bad price all things considered...I think they are worth more, they'll outhash a 1.2m zeus if handled correctly.
1259  Economy / Goods / Re: Cigarettes for sale on: January 31, 2017, 05:20:47 PM
I understand peoples concerns as there are a lot of scammers out there...

...but come on $2.50?! If you're worried about loosing $2.50 maybe you shouldn't smoke bloody cigarettes in the first damn place! You're burning more then that up a day probably!

Plus if I wanted to scam people of $2.50 I wouldn't limit it to 1 pack a week! Take a gamble... like you do with your life every time you light a smoke up. How pedantic do you wanna be people! damn!
I don´t know if you´re new on the internet, but people won´t bother to stop scamming just because its $2.50
And, I don´t smoke myself. It´s for my friends.

I do understand. I know there are people out there that would take the time and effort to scam for $2.50 especially in countries with weak currencies... but still. If you are that worried about loosing $2.50 just to try this guys service out then I'm sorry but you obviously have a lot more important things to be spending your money on.

I'm guessing by how you're defending him that he's your scammer alt? Makes sense really.

Getting scammed hurts...whether it's 2$ or 10000$ it's still fucked and should not be done...dunno why you've got to let greed drive you it will fuck you in the end.

Also...OP if you can provide any sort of proof that you can do this then you'll actually make some money here. Dunno why you have to be so dumb about it.
