2621  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 12, 2013, 06:27:54 PM
As I track my earnings from lending out USD and BTC on bitfinex.com and I like numbers, I created the following spreadsheet + charts on Google docs:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjDrki5tpdL3dFlYaU53cVozazJiYWo2S1ZQMHZiRWc#gid=5

It is filled with bogus data, but it's anyways to be used as template by you, simply create a copy yourself, delete the explanation sheet (after reading it) and enter your own data.
I hope this helps a few people to better track their earnings and maybe there are even some improvements to be made on this (eventually for example I plan to have some kind of ledger sheet and then weekly/monthly/yearly reports + charts) that I didn't think of yet.

As usual: No warranties, don't start plotting your plan on world domination with this sheet and always stay a bit critical towards stuff posted on the net!

I created a seperate thread as well, please direct questions about this project there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174968.0

I guess it makes it a bit easier and visible if I share this in a seperate thread as well:

2623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to fix the exchanges - a professional view. on: April 12, 2013, 05:18:23 PM
Everyone keeps talking about decentralized exchanges.  Sorry if this is a dum dum head question...but where will the dollars be stored?
In the account of a regulated E-Money trader that guarantees (and is audited) to never do fractional reserve. Ripple gateways could be such entities for example.

Decentralized != anonymous or 100% P2P.

Cash can be counterfeited, BTC can't. Roll Eyes Also I don't know of even just a page where you can enter a serial number of a EUR or USD bill to check if it exists and which denomination it should have - you can NOT remotely check or guarantee that the 500 EUR bill someone wants to send you is legit or not. Once you got the bill there's no way for the buyer to guarantee that his bill was a real one and you did replace it with a fake one claiming to have been frauded and not the other way round.
2624  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ufasoft Coin - Multi-currency Open Source client for Windows on: April 12, 2013, 04:50:44 PM
I don't get any NMC and Testnet2 peers... anyone has an IP I could insert into the sqliteDB to bootstrap? Or should I just wait and hope?

2626  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Mining Beratung Investor on: April 12, 2013, 04:11:57 PM

2627  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Yet another Decentralized Exchange Topic on: April 12, 2013, 01:48:53 PM
If you want to learn something specific, you can ask me any time. Smiley
How would this work to exchange coins on 2 different chains? (e.g. Eurocoin + BTC or LTC + BTC?)

If everything's on one chain, it seems to check out (colored coins etc.) and only Bitcoins current limitations regarding fees and block size would cause issues (SERIOUS issues!) there. If coins are on completely different chains however there might be a way to at least lock funds of market participants.
2628  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 12, 2013, 08:43:51 AM
It's now back at 817%... Huh

I know that a lot of cheap loans were taken, but wasn't there a change that VIR factors in old data too to make sure it doesn't jump that much any more? It got dampened quite a bit when rates were soaring but now it jumps around more than a kitten on speed...

Anyways, I still have kept my trusty lendee who has a 2500% loan open for a couple hundred USD already for a few days and another one for a 1500% loan - dudes, you rock! Grin

To have 1% per day returns, one needs 405% uninsured and soon 522% insured - and currently there are far higher than 1% moves in the market still.
2629  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Yet another Decentralized Exchange Topic on: April 12, 2013, 07:41:14 AM
Note that p2ptrade part is already implemented, basically all you need to do is to get somebody semi-reputable to issue USDcoins.

Well, software needs polishing, but at least conceptually it is pretty much complete.
Could you link an implementation please? Seems quite interesting...
2630  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 12, 2013, 07:34:54 AM
Damn, VIR took a plunge in just a few hours from above 800% to below 400% - how is this even possible?! Undecided
2631  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Yet another Decentralized Exchange Topic on: April 12, 2013, 06:07:18 AM
Exactly this verification is the hard part, not standardized at all and might be expensive, illegal or even impossible to do depending on the bank.
2632  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Mt.Gox Monopol/DDos Angriffe/Kursabfall on: April 12, 2013, 06:03:04 AM
2633  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [IDEA] Multicurrency Wallet/Client on: April 11, 2013, 09:20:47 PM
Check out ufasoft coin...

Anyways, the ideas you present are not new - the problem is rather in the execution and it also doesn't seem as if you want to help in that by either offering to pay a developer or doing something yourself.
2634  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [BUG] bitcoin-qt 0.8.1 100% of CPU usage while blockchain is unsync on: April 11, 2013, 07:51:04 PM
Isn't it just syncing and verifying the chain?

Does it also do this if you pull the internet connection?
2635  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Yet another Decentralized Exchange Topic on: April 11, 2013, 07:45:33 PM
Yes, you just described ripple gateways...
2636  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A new idea for bitcoin markets on: April 11, 2013, 07:42:24 PM
Can yes, want to no.
The money has to come from somewhere after all. If it is a decentralized service, the money then most likely comes from my friends.I want them as friends, not as a source of income.
2637  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: April 11, 2013, 06:11:56 PM

10 Millionen?
10 Millionen Requests pro Sekunde vermutlich... Roll Eyes
2638  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A new idea for bitcoin markets on: April 11, 2013, 05:50:17 PM
That is not right, Ripple can run decentralized, once Opencoin releases the source.
They don't want to do that currently to protect their investment I guess and also to make sure their implementation is the most supported one before people start forks left and right.
2639  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: April 11, 2013, 04:26:19 PM

2640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casascius Coins: Am I doing "Proof of Existence" right? on: April 11, 2013, 03:54:46 PM
You might make it even easier to counterfeit since you provide already high quality scans.3d printing technology in a few years might be able to replicate these dings and scratches perfectly.

All in all i don't really see a benefit of doing this.
