Just like in your other thread you opened for this outrageous loss of ~2 BTC:
Where in the FAQ or wiki does it exactly state that a "margin call" means sending an email? I'm really interested in that, as I consider doing a handful of trades a week since most of my USD are now sitting idle...
Oh, and I'd like BFX to prefer filling my OWN loan offers before even the cheapest ones out there...!

Bold words for someone operating a fund that also did lend btc on bitfinex longer ago when there were even fewer security measures in place...
Actually, plenty of people have asked, plenty of people have been told exactly what it means.
The I'd recommend to put the exact numbers (and a link to the announcement that is referenced for the "advertised performance") in the bet description or at least having a way to clarify arising issues like this directly in the bet's description (e.g. "Editor's note: To clarify, performance means X GH/s per Y Watts, the advertised products when opening this bet were Product 1: ... Product 2: ... and Product 3: ...").
Where is it stated on their page that margin call = email?
Might I suggest then to either allow for filtering the 3 different wallets or displaying the amount on each seperately/in seperate columns? I also already got confused a bit after trying to trade today for the first time (I still hold a nice short position at ~119 currently by the way ).

Betting on something that does NOT clarify in clear numbers what "advertised rates" etc. mean is just looking for trouble...
Just clarify before betting what this "advertised performance" (e.g. on bitbet.us/bet/307/bfl-will-deliver-asic-devices-before-july-1st/) is in clear numbers, if they don't want to do that, well don't bet or prepare to fund the "option emporium" of our unfriendly neighbourhood romanian. Also please be aware that "+/- 10%" also means that if suddenly performance is much BETTER than expected, you can still loose!

Check out https://www.preferzen.com/ Interesting arguments (I wonder if they display their CO2 footprint in their open books...) but kinda limited in my opinion, probably similar to Amazon coins, only not pegged to just the USD.

great, now just someone should make p2p exchange which is ddos safe and crypto is stabilized. oh and it vould be a great idea to develop some wallet where you can have several crypto at once.
P2P between cryptocurrencies makes it at least possible to hold funds hostage for some time and in the worst case allows for double spend scams. Between crypto + fiat (e.g. USD + BTC) you need external trust, either to an exchange or at least a gateway/bank that keeps fiat debt for you. Multicoin wallet = ufasoft coin. It's at least useable, though not too pretty...

Können auch scrypt coins gemined werden?
Nein! 1300 MH/s in scrypt wären schon mal ne Ansage!

What kind of notification besides mail (I'm not too sure that works reliably and spam filters can be a bitch) would you suggest? Text messages? UI popups and flashes? Sounds?
If you know from the start how low you could go, I'm not even sure these notifications are needed, there could be specialized services to notify you if prices touch certain points...
Not cool to not receive anything though!

I'm not a trader at all, but it seems to me that these numbers can be calculated already when opening a position... maybe they can be displayed too?
Something like "with your current funds of x USD, your position will trigger a margin call at y and be closed at z".
Could be the case that this is either already visible or common knowledge to traders that they are expected to calculate that themselves but it might help less experienced ones to know what's going on...

What about simultaneous transactions? 30 people send 0.1 each at the same time... all in the same block.
Oh and upper limits don't make sense at all, since one can easily just bet from different addresses.
Even the value of the Dow Jones is not very random and it also doesn't change every second of the day. Also I'm not too sure if you can even get quotes down to the second there.
Since you can give a certain probability to each second in the future that a block will contain this time stamp (something miners choose by the way) I would guess it could be gamed in the long run. With these high fees and the need to trust you that you really pay out as well as the problem that 1 btc is too little for high rollers but too much for the little people I don't see this flying for other reasons. Once the lottery pays out every hour or so, I'd love to try to game it though!

Ideally one could even make small profits from that by keeping the interest towards the lendee highand relending the money you got back.
... or use floor instead of round! I don't care if I actually have 0.00x USD more but it's annoying to get an error when typing in a balance that is displayed as available for lending.

Ansonsten eben Localbitcoins. Kommt eben drauf an, ob du die BTC kaufen willst oder damit handeln/spekulieren.

I hope all of these interface issues will go away, once we get a decent API (as you could just get the raw lending order book hopefully). Also additional features (autolending bot, "smart" auto-lend that e.g. lends money in such a way that most of it is taken all the time or that all money is available at a certain date!) and statistics should be possible then. Looking forward to the things to come and hopefully now with increased order book depth due to Bitstamp, there might be a chance to increase leverage to 1:3 or 1:4 (or even back to 1:5) again, so more money is being lent out and demand drives up the rates again.

In Österreich geht Nachnahme nur mit Einschreiben... Wenn der Bote kein Geld kassiert ist das ja das Problem der Post, nicht meins.
