541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin worth so much? on: August 06, 2021, 04:56:16 PM
Because it has utility, offers financial privacy, can be used as a form of exchange and it's used by many people. Those that I listed are some of the reasons that I can think of in regards to why bitcoin is so valuable, you see when things are being bought and they have a limited supply, if the people find the product interesting then the prices will go up since the demand for it will only go up.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Xiomi Portugal start accepting crypto on: August 06, 2021, 04:23:21 PM
I was excited when I read the news today. Its a win for the crypto community even it is a small one, it put a smile on my face today. I expect more good news this month. Maybe China will rethink their stand on bitcoin and Bitcoin mining.
It's not a small one, remember that it's a country that they're operating in and they have adopted crypto payment system there, that's not a small one, it's a big one. I don't think China will rethink, they know what they're doing and they know that the only way is for them to move forward, it's not like their going to be the big market forever, there's about 6 billion more to advertise bitcoin to.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a safe haven? on: August 06, 2021, 03:42:58 PM
No its not a safe haven as it's sometimes cannot guarantee a good results afterwards.. It just depends on the situation and the fact that bitcoin were very risky perhaps it's enough reason that its not eligible to become a reliable investment.  Wherein no one can really say it's a ssfe heaven because of being unpredictable and skeptical as well.. Just my opinion.
That depends, I think in the long-term which sometimes what they meant with safe haven is, bitcoin can be considered a safe haven since it never showed that it will regress overtime and that it will only go up in the future, you must be thinking narrowly to say that bitcoin isn't a safe haven.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin anonymous? on: August 06, 2021, 03:11:13 PM
Bitcoin was previously more anonymous and we need to recognize this.
I wouldn't change a thing if I know that when I agreed to make it less anonymous, that the authorities can catch cyber criminals that are using bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a means to do something bad and scummy towards other people besides, not talking about your bitcoin or your address is enough for anyone to be considered anonymous.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's price, and our mental health. on: August 06, 2021, 02:31:13 PM
I can't believe Bitcoin had gone this far, from $5k to $63k then back to $32k. It is really amazing but the fear of losing and the emotions that are attached is really self weaking. It should be understood that there is big risks in investing and trading of Bitcoin which can really help us to pay close attention to it.
If you don't have money on your mind as first priority then the changes or fluctuations in prices won't affect you negatively, you only see it as it is and you only see the positives of everything. Mastering emotions is difficult but with enough practice, you will be able to get through it and it will be fruitful once you finally did it.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: some people uneducate about Bitcoins on: August 06, 2021, 01:55:43 PM
Can't blame them, I mean just teaching them solves the problem, we are just too stupid to accept that it's easy to solve that and they find it much easier to make fun or mock these uneducated people. Also, the ignorance of these people leads to hatred towards the unknown in this case, it's bitcoin which only leads to market prices going down since these people that are ignorant are influential together with their hate on bitcoin.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin in the highest level of trust? on: August 06, 2021, 01:06:48 PM
Probably because bitcoin doesn't have any owner or a central authority that they're following to continue it's daily market activity, maybe that's why people still believes and trusts in bitcoin more than anything else plus there's a public ledger that can't be faked or can't be manipulated.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon is looking to accept Bitcoin payments by the end of the year on: August 05, 2021, 07:00:46 PM
I really hope it deosnt end like that of Tesla. Also, I sometimes become insecure when I see news like this. It seem like an attack even though they might have geniune intentions. But the way they'll impact the market is something I fear for because what can do you good can also do you bad. Like Tesla!
I think this was already rumored to not happen, Amazon already confirmed that it doesn't have any intentions so, it seems that your aspirations is going down the dumps. Yes they will impact the problem is that they're not going in, yet. This kind of thing takes time but if we bide our time correct, we will be able to be just fine.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The American Bankers Association (ABA) with cryptocurrency companies. on: August 05, 2021, 06:16:31 PM
It's great to hear that at least one banking association has spoken positively about cryptocurrency. Because in most of the other countries, banking lobby is constantly pushing the government to impose a blanket ban on cryptos. In my monthly newsletter I received from my bank, inevitably mentions about the high risk of cryptocurrency and 10 reason why should everyone avoid it.

So it's really great to know at least smart bankers are thinking out-of-the-box and talking about the benefits of crypto adoption.
Probably they're up to something again, I can't trust bankers, I know that behind this support, there's a possibility that it's going to be a big interest that they have. I wouldn't really see it as a good news for now unless they're really sincere with the support which is unlikely thing to happen.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now all in BTC. All eggs in one basket! on: August 05, 2021, 05:40:41 PM
right now you may have got so many bitcoins and moreover you bought it at such a cheap price, and maybe you have collected it in one basket and I think you have done the right thing at this time and at the right time as well. do, I am very sure what you are doing at this time will be a fantastic result for yourself in the future, I am also very impressed with what you have done at this time
Anyone can do it if you have a lot of money and you have a stable job that helps you with your daily needs so you can't possibly sell your portfolio at a wrong time and at wrong price. Of course it's fantastic, OP has been hodling for years, it's already a feat if you can do a year but OP seems to be able to go for more years.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What hatred do people have for Bitcoin? on: August 05, 2021, 04:58:09 PM
Hatred caused by envy and bitterness, envy because they didn't invest in it early and have doubts that it's going to last and now other people are getting their profits and are making a lot of money and them only there to look at others enjoying their profits. Bitterness because they might've been scammed and so they generalized that bitcoin is a scam just because they were stupid.
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years? on: August 05, 2021, 04:22:41 PM
100 years are really too far away, and the people in the forum will not last until 100 years later. The current network technology is too advanced. In just a few decades of development, 2021 will be many times stronger than in 1921. Conversely, think about how many new, unknown, and high-tech things will appear in 100 years. At that time, the whole world did not know what it would become. By then, Bitcoin may not be so popular anymore.
And it's not going to be our problem what's going to happen to bitcoin in a hundred years, there's lot things that we should look forward to besides bitcoin, try to get out and form social interaction and bonds and try to do something besides watching the screens predicting what's going to happen next, we can't expect it to go our way so we better just live our daily lives and not think about bitcoin 100 years from now.
553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google starts accepting Bitcoin ads on: August 05, 2021, 03:35:21 PM
~
Well, I hope that someone from the team will be able to filter all crypto sites that want to promote before it published as these scammers and scam sites will surely take advantage. But I think that Google is already aware of this possible scenario and this is not only happening to crypto ads. Strict rules must be implemented to stop the spread of fake and scam sites, and this will add loads for the team.
I don't know about this but I feel like it's difficult to filter it out, remember that millions if not billions are using their site so I don't think it's humanly possible to do this and the current AI technology is too strict that it might also eliminate sites that aren't a scam. Also, even if people all over the world that are against scam work together, it won't be enough and they can only do so much.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google starts accepting Bitcoin ads on: August 05, 2021, 03:09:50 PM
Good for them. It was eventual as cryptos can't be resisted and when the people are with the crypto industry then they can't resist. They tried, all the institutions and govts tried, but they have to surrender. Bitcoin and crypto are here to stay.
The only ones that will benefit from these ban lifting is probably the scam websites that are actively making their sites on top or advertised. i don't know if I'll be happy about this or not but this is definitely not an entirely good news for me.
555  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin atms on: August 05, 2021, 02:10:55 PM
Bitcoin ATM is not bad, and it certainly attracts some number of new investors.
The problem is that it's unregulated and FBI I think have already confirmed that these ATMs have been used for money laundering, a bit of regulation on these and I think that we are good to go with these ATMs.
556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin August 2021 Target? on: August 05, 2021, 01:03:48 PM
That could be a possiblity but don't think too much about it because I feel like bitcoin is going to stay at this price point for a little while since it's mid year and it seems that a low activity should be expected or is possible. It will reach 50k someday but I don't think that it's going to happen anytime soon.
557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should you own at least one Bitcoin? on: August 05, 2021, 12:25:10 PM
That's a bit of privileged bullshit that you're spouting to be honest, not everyone can own exactly one bitcoin because it's expensive as heck and you might not get it or you haven't got out of your privileged rock yet but there are poor people out there and even the middle income can't afford to do it.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will physical casinos accept crypto someday? on: August 04, 2021, 06:22:00 PM
They will, it's inevitable that they have to given the continuous rise of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole, with more people everyday wanting to learn about it and investing on it when they can. It's only a matter of time and how trendy it becomes for people in the gambling circles to notice it.
559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Olympics Boxing) Carlo Paalam vs Ryomei Tanaka on: August 04, 2021, 05:52:34 PM
Regardless of the odds though, I do hope that Carlo Paalam would win so that he will bring another gold medal for the Philippines, Nesthy was very close, but silver is not that bad, same with Carlo here.

Of course, we wanted to see him win the gold and hear the Philippine national anthem for the second time. I'll think I will bet for him for support even at ML.
The pressure on the Philippines side to win another gold is going to be higher than that of the Japanese team because I feel like with the first gold, they want another to make it all good. Also, I feel like Tanaka will dominate this round because of his movements in his last game.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: August 04, 2021, 05:15:43 PM
I think children will never bother trying gambling after seeing those ads and promotions if their parents raised them well to understand what to do and what not to do as a kid. Good parents will always have great kids and great kids know how to choose their friend wisely.

You can also monitor your child browsing history if you'll set it on your internet settings. This is why being close to our children is important, so they will never be shy opening things on your no matter what they are.
Also, how did those kids end up in sites that have ads for gambling, it's not like they have full control over their devices, they are children and it's the parent:s duty to monitor their activities. If you want to further monitor it, you can always limit what they can access although it takes some tweaking to do it but it's worth it, it gives your child privacy but at the same time keeps them away from this kind of things at a young age.
