It's not new news, this exchange has a terrible reputation since years ago. Faking volume is probably one of their most famous shady activity. That being said, it's not exclusive to Yobit. A lot of shady exchanges do this too. So, the best thing you can do is avoid them and use reputable exchanges/dex instead.
I don't know why they are still in the business though, by this time they probably should have been down on the ground with a lot of people confirming that they are a scam of a website. @joniboini is right, exchanges do this to attract gullible people to put their money in their site so they can scam them. |
