I think you missed the idea with this forum. We use this to discuss things related to the forum software like things that can be improved, merit stats, etc.

Your posts should fit better in Bitcoin Discussion or Development & Technical Discussion.

Good luck moving it there Smiley

All in favor say "aye": Aye!

Thanks a lot for the support qwk! Smiley

You're a funny guy! Maybe I should have voted for you in: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5008800.0

I can't really tell wether his merited Romanian posts are any good, but I guess I would rely on Vlad's judgement here.
You can check my English posts or you can use Chrome's translate feature to automatically translate pages in languages other than English Wink
123  Other / Off-topic / Re: Yes, it's clickbait. I didn't say you're getting free merits, did I? on: September 20, 2018, 08:06:19 AM
"guy" or "gal" does not seem to be a settled matter, and perhaps a sophisticated bot might demonstrate that quantum computing has arrived, as Such.
Yes, you're right, I wasn't politically correct Smiley I think I use "guy" as default, like in "Hi guys" that I normally say to male, female or mixed groups.

Anyways, if I were to speculate, considering the avatar, I would say she is a "gal" Smiley
124  Other / Meta / Re: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board on: September 19, 2018, 07:26:01 PM
Yes, more sources for the local boards please, and good to see vlad stepping up with a source application so I'm gonna bump this up now in the deluge of complaints swamping Meta.
Thanks a lot for your support suchmoon!

I also believe we should have merit sources that can read other languages as well. This way the merit distribution would be more broad.
125  Local / Română (Romanian) / Re: Cont furat on: September 19, 2018, 03:33:23 PM

Recomandari pt a evita asa ceva:
1.  Scrie totdeauna adresa BCT in browser
2.  Foloseste parole diferite pt alte site-uri (mail, BCT, alte forumuri etc.)
3.  Bifeaza casuta de "remember me" sa nu iti ceara parola totdeauna

Daca urmezi sfaturile astea e o sansa foarte mica sa iti sparga cineva contul.

126  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [Guide] Best/Top Crypto Exchanges: Fees & more on: September 19, 2018, 03:10:22 PM
There's a small one that I really like: BL3P. It's only used for EUR-BTC trading, aiming at EU-users, and is currently invite only. They responded very fast when I contacted support, and that's the reason they don't want to grow faster than they can handle.
Any chance I could get an invite to that? I'm also trading with EUROs.

Where's Poloniex in your list? I've recently opened an account for my altcoin experiment, they've had their problems in the past, but as far as I know they have quite a lot of users.
Yeah, would need to look into that as well. I think I have an account there but haven't really used it to be able to include it here.

Are there even exchanges that ask for less than 0.5 mBTC nowadays? That's about 100 times more than needed, and at least 10 times more than needed to have a fast transaction most of the time.
As far as I know, all the serious exchanges charge that or more.

Personally for me, I am using Binance, Bittrex and Kucoin at the moment. Certainly my first criterion is good security, they all have that, and most of the time, and the security of your account is usually dependent on you as an individual. Secondly, the trading volume and fees is one thing I really do not joke with and that has made binance and Kucoin my main exchanges that I used.
I see a lot of people also use Kucoin, I think I need to look into it too.

vlad is decent - add him to the list theymos
Thanks a lot for your endorsement TMAN! Coming from a merit source this means a lot.

129  Other / Meta / Re: Let the "Merit broke my life" thread flood begin on: September 19, 2018, 07:22:17 AM
It's not that hard, if you have only 1 account, and you really try it... But if you are an account farmer with 100s or 1000s of account, just imagine, they have to write 100s and 1000s of decent posts, if every post gets it's merit... if only every 3rd... that's 3000 posts to write in a few days, because they will be kicked from their campaign... So for the good newbies, it should not be a real barrier but for cheaters... I like this idea
Yes, indeed. That was the whole point, making it really difficult for people that are farming loads of accounts to join bounties to continue spamming the forums.
130  Other / Meta / Re: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board on: September 19, 2018, 07:20:51 AM
Good luck with your application. I understand you're doing this in order to improve your local board so there's no reason you should be turned down.
We need more sources and more active local boards. This can only be a plus for the whole community.
I hope you can be accepted , exactly I think of English or any other language, of course if you try, in a positive sense, you really want to close contributing to an organization which can increase your capacity.
Thanks a lot for your support guys! Smiley

Yes, I'm trying to help out my local board. Maybe I can also stimulate the posting there and get people to be more active there as well Smiley
131  Other / Meta / Re: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board on: September 18, 2018, 02:48:09 PM
You seem well intended, active enough (and active on the Romanian board) and as somebody else wrote, you understand better than many the real value of Merit.
Also your posts show that you "think before opening your mouth", with is good to have on this forum.
So yep, I also support your application.
Thanks a lot for your support!

I hope we'll have the first merit source for the Romanian local board soon.

I've noticed theymos has created an additional 36 merit sources when this thread was started. I might have missed the opportunity to get on board this time.
132  Other / Meta / Re: Let the "Merit broke my life" thread flood begin on: September 18, 2018, 02:45:35 PM
What if theymos will increase the merit requirement?

Bounty camps will be shut down > which will lead to increased unemployment rates > street riots and government takeover > occasional mass suicides in Southeast Asia. The events of 17th September 2018 will be nothing compared to what will happen if you require 5/10 merits to rank up. Bounty warriors will set META on fire and burn it to the ground.
sorry Lips sealed

Nostradamus signing off
You're a funny guy  Grin

If you think of it the last prediction with META being on fire is not far to be true. Everybody has started posting here like mad, hunting the magical 1 merit.
I didn't see any of them posting here beforehand.  Roll Eyes
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to escape FUD and FOMO to peace of mind? on: September 18, 2018, 08:04:54 AM
I think you need to constantly read the news and try to analyze what has happened in the pasts when similar news surfaced.

For example news of a new market being open usually triggers FOMO and people start buying thus the price increases. This has happened multiple times over the years and you can capitalize on it.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation good or bad? on: September 18, 2018, 08:01:44 AM
I also agree with you OP.

I think the only way to see BTC to a new all-time-high is to better regulate the market. If the market gets regulated and we won't see any money laundering and illegal activities then the doors to Wall Street will be open and the big players will join the table.

So, most likely the prices will increase and eventually stabilize as opposed to the high volatility we're seeing today.
135  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Revitalizing the Local boards on: September 18, 2018, 07:54:54 AM
Might as well apply for a new source. Cyrus is kinda busy and not that active I guess.
I already applied here: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board

I would appreciate it if you guys could offer your support to make the thread more visible to theymos.

For me it’s made no difference. The Spanish board was quite uninteresting when I joined the forum in August last year and now it is as uninteresting as it was before. All info I see there I can find it in more depth on the English board.

I suppose you find it more interesting the poorer English level you have, so you can't compare.
I don't think it's 100% tied to speaking or not speaking English. I found it interesting at the beginning and still see it interesting today, since there are a lot of things related to your geographic location like: how & where to buy BTC & altcoins using the local currency, new BTC terminals installed near you, cheap mining farms in your country etc.

You can't find such information on the English board for your country but you're right too, new stuff usually shows up on the English boards first.
136  Other / Meta / Re: Let the "Merit broke my life" thread flood begin on: September 18, 2018, 07:44:11 AM
It didn't take long:

Already reported, a troll?

This is extremely bad... I think a lot of newbies will try to buy merit but I think they are missing the point. If they just put a bit of time in one of their posts I bet they could easily get 1 merit for it.

What if theymos will increase the merit requirement? Will they buy more? Long term buying is not a solution.
137  Other / Meta / Re: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board on: September 18, 2018, 07:34:29 AM
I really like the way you are expressing, becoming a merit source, it is so  admirable. Maybe you are a suitable member to become merit source, you have good attitude to the forum as well as responsibility to solve all problem. Not only that, also you have experience in giving merit. Maybe my experience is not enough to help you, but if there is anything I need help with, I'm willing.
Thanks for your support!

I just hope I can contribute to the forum by trying to stimulate the activity in the Romanian board and awarding merit to good posts.

I know there are a lot of good posters there that deserve to rank-up, not knowing English should not be a barrier to ranking-up.
138  Other / Meta / Re: vlad230's Merit source application - Romanian Local board on: September 17, 2018, 02:32:31 PM
I think you are the most suitable member from our community to become merit source, also I don't mind and I don't think that a member with higher rank is better than you because you understand how hard is to rank up, as everyone can see from your last posts you have quite a huge history of giving and receiving merit, that means you are a valuable member of this community.I fully support your application, we need more people like you.
Thanks a lot for your support! Smiley

Indeed, you need to create meaningful posts to get merit but that's not all, you also need to make your posts visible enough to catch the eye of a lot of people.

For a user of my rank (and not being a merit source) I think I have a pretty large merit distribution network since I've ran a review service and merited a lot of people.
139  Other / Meta / Re: Let the "Merit broke my life" thread flood begin on: September 17, 2018, 11:14:14 AM
Or buy Copper Membership here
It will be so satisfying to report Copper spammer /I already did btw/, then you know that you loose time catching them ,but they loose money.
Yeah, you can buy the Copper membership but I think putting some time into your posts would be more beneficial long term.
If they buy the Copper Membership and then continue to spam the forums that's not solving our problems here.

Good catch BTW!  Grin I hope he will be red tagged as soon as possible.

140  Other / Meta / Re: A solution to the Merit and sMerit situation? on: September 17, 2018, 11:07:14 AM
I read those my posts you referenced and they were neither off topic nor spam. The only issue in point I think you have in that regard is the page with which they appear.
You still don't see how wrong you are and that's terribly bad... You are creating hundreds of spam posts by replying to trivial threads uselessly, nobody will read them.
It's not only about the page they are on.

Please take my advice and try to improve your posting otherwise you will never learn anything about crypto and people like you will kill BitCoinTalk.
Theymos is fighting people like you by placing restrictions that apply to good posters too in threads like: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements

However, when I went through some of your posts i discovered that most of them are replies to topics you have created and while very few of those topics have more than 2 pages.
There is this post that appears on page (258) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg45815745#msg45815745
You may not be aware of this, but that thread was last edited today by theymos. This change was expected for a log time and I was glad it was implemented.
As opposed to the topics where you post that are spam from the beginning, this actually was a new.

I also see I joined about 2 months ahead of you (with 0 merit by default) and you only have received 3 merit. That should say something on the quality of the posts you are creating and maybe encourage you to change.
Unfortunately, that's not true, you keep spamming and getting your $2/week  Roll Eyes
