1601  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Taking Offers] 2011 Casascius Error Coin - Raw on: January 26, 2016, 04:28:57 PM
If the coin were cleaned there is no way someone would try to clean the hologram? The coin has no swirl marks from cleaning on it that I can see at all. I did not buy this directly from Mike so I really can not say what is up with that missing letter. I do know that ANACS will not care about it grade wise.

Edit: This is why I prefer dealing with graded coins lol... I will say that it looks the same face wise as one of my MS-67 errors coins. I can put a pic up of them side by side if it helps? Maybe I am better off just grading it...meh.
1602  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Taking Offers] 2011 Casascius Error Coin - Raw on: January 26, 2016, 01:23:20 PM
Is the last digit missing on the hologram?

I noticed that also, but it must not have been printed from what I can tell? The coin does not look handled to me in any way. Here is the full address -> https://blockchain.info/address/17jQvv24kHXpW9RctP2SoE12Z8Z45euQG9

So it is missing "4"

1603  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Taking Offers] 2011 Casascius Error Coin - Raw on: January 26, 2016, 05:28:46 AM
Just got an offer of 2.8BTC. I am not a big fan of private offers so if someone else makes an offer I will PM all parties and they may bid via PM with 100% transparency. I know not many would question me, but that is what I would prefer if I were bidding.

I will lend it to you again...post an address.
1605  Economy / Collectibles / 2011 Casascius Error Coin - MS-63 - Low Price on: January 26, 2016, 03:41:25 AM
2011 Error coin graded MS-63. This coin has a really nice shiny surface, but a few small marks along the rim of the coin. Asking 2.55 for this coin - very good deal for a 2011 error.

1606  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Escrows - Trade Safely! on: January 26, 2016, 02:44:38 AM
OgNasty is the only really active one of the remaining 3. To me it feels like trading on this forum has slowed down a lot anyways. Most of the people trading physical coins here have been around so long they all rarely need escrows anymore. I think the neediest are account traders and no one wants to deal with those...

There is a need for signature campaigns ,many other deals in the currency exchange section requires escrow if none of the buyer/seller is untrusted or is new, even people trade altcoins now and then which might require an escrow.Your point is valid only to the older/trusted ones dealing but the typical trades still need one much active and trusted escrow IMO.

I agree as it does not really effect me at all. I am sure someone will step up and offer their services. I do not mind escrowing signature campaigns so long as they make the payments and I just hold emergency funds.

The problem with signature campaign escrows is often that escrow doesn't want to be the one making payments (like in your case), but when people want
to start their own escrow services, and don't have the problem in doing the work around payments - they get blasted out until they retreat from the idea.

Well, most campaigns have managers these days. I think most of the managers are trusted enough to handle the weekly payments. Take luckybtc for instance...their manager is relatively unknown and yet handles the payments. My only role is to hold 4BTC in case either the manager or casino stops paying. I see no reason why this setup does not work out well? A newer guy can earn some trust while doing the weekly payments and after a while likely not need someone like me.

1609  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: yahoo62278, manager of betking.io signature campaign, refusing to count my posts on: January 25, 2016, 08:41:57 PM
So just to publicly verify...yahoo is control of his own account now? I am asking so I can remove my red...

1611  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Peeled 2011 Casascius 25 BTC Coin / Graded MS-62 / Slab Included on: January 25, 2016, 03:07:02 PM
I guess when the time comes I am better off peeling mine and selling the coins unloaded! Last 2 of these I bought cost 26.5BTC and 27BTC each... I will agree with OP these are by far the ugliest Casascius coins ever made (explains the minimum markup).

devthedev is closing his escrow service after almost 2 years.

Below here is the quoted message from his escrow service thread:

Hey everyone, after almost 2 years of service to the community I will be closing Devscrow.
It was a pleasure working with everyone in the past, and I hope to see everyone around the forum.

You guys are all awesome, keep pushing for further adoption!

Now we have the Big 3 rather than the Big 5   Shocked

Thank you everyone for the fantastic support you gave to BTC.SURF
It was a wonderful wave to ride on! As you know waves always hit the shore at some point.
You all proved that project can go beyond logics.
All the data listed here was 100% true and not faked at any point. All the statistics an 65+ BTC paid out,
all that from one doubler in 4 days.

Plain simple why did we fail?
Server overload because of payment amount being to high. Sending out 4+btc an hour. That's a lot of transactions each sec.

best of luck to everyone wo participated in this Project and lets meet again one day. Wink
[/b]

Go to hell  Grin no one wants to meet you again.
You will Undecided under a different guise with a different bought account.
If you haven't already by participating in these fool investing games.

Same diff as using a dice site to me really. Had I walked after first 2 investments I would have made .3BTC. Gamble is a gamble...

Well I broke even...this was my first and last time trying one of these. I hope no one bet more than they were ready to lose. I was up .3 from first 2 times and down .3 from the last send.

Here you go... I also have a video of me cracking a slab if interested. I have it down and can knock out a slab in under 30 seconds now  Tongue

1619  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2011 Casascius 25 BTC Coin / Graded MS-62 / Funded with 40BTC on: January 24, 2016, 05:24:41 PM
If loglow peels the coins, redeems all BTC on it and then sells the emty coin + the peeled hologram + ANACS case he might get a nice price for it because it has a nice story  Grin

The problem is to open the slab you have to bust it up quite a bit. I have cracked probably 40 slabs so far  Shocked

Then he includes the broken ANACS slab  Grin and maybe try to keep the labels in one piece.

They come apart pretty well. I can post a pic of a recently cracked slab if you would like to see one? I clip off the bottom corners then pry them open with a screw driver.

Thank you. Won the giveaway amount.
Congratulations before the crash, um, I mean the migration to new server happens.
Isn't how they all go? Like dominos  Roll Eyes

It might crash, but who knows... Gambling is gambling never bet what you can not afford to lose!
