Yes FTC is completely dead.

Please send all of your coins to 6nB7CVVYyZHvwmz17z7exAaD2nzM5ji1Fg for cremation and proper disposal.

Done.

Thanks for the responses.

No thank you for 14005.0098 FTC

See guys, sarcasm pays!

I'm confused, the FTC blockchain has no records for that address.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM]Ypool has mined 16% of blocks in the last 24 hours. Thoughts on: August 02, 2013, 12:51:08 AM
I pointed an i7 3770k processor at ypool for three days and got just under three XPM for it, maxing out the processor the entire time. For the people that are actually making money off of ypool, what kind of computing power are you throwing at it to make more than one xpm per day (which is kind of low)?

Thanks
1) what software are you using?
2) what settings have you changed?

I'm getting 6-8 per day running 4 systems (equiv to ~3 i5 2400's).  I'm getting around .029-.035 per round, there's a guy on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=257623.100 who's running a 3770 also, and he says .017-.029 per block.  I'd estimate he's getting 4-6.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: August 02, 2013, 12:03:04 AM
It's can't be my faul, coz I use recomended software from owner. So it's steal my ~200 XPM. It's all...

He or who think it's not fair, can correct this in any time with sending me any compensation here: AYt9xqb8vCDEQoL6W1hKxJmLwwQ6BvjFA6

Thanks in advance!
Damnation, I get less whine from my Uncle's cellar!  Heck, even a 2 bit whore whines less than you do.

Dude, *NOT* your fault? ROFLMAO!  You're in the High Performance thread talking about using the unmodified client!!!  How freaking dumb are you?
On top of that, I personally told you 3-4 days ago what I was using at ypool.  I've made 33xpm while you've had your thumb up your ass.
But hey, go ahead and blame the client, stupid people blame the tools all the time.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Pick your favorite Alt-Coin! on: August 01, 2013, 08:31:30 PM

We didn't buy our votes.. unlike certain coins that shall remain unnamed for the moment.

Hey man, you seem to have conveniently forgotten the other half of your GLD chart. Allow me to inform everyone else what you neglected to mention.

Nice rise but nothing out of the ordinary.

Also, you're labelling DGC as a pump and dump? Are you aware of how paper thin the asks are on cryptsy? it takes all of 5 BTC to make the price raise 300%, The low volume on cryptsy makes it a terrible place to orchestrate such things. What you see there are investors buying up the price while multipool jumps on the %profitability/BTC then dumps it right back down. I was in fact one of those investors, and I've yet to dump what I've bought. Kinda bummed on that but I believe I'll see a return on my investment eventually.

For a pump and dump to be successful it has to span more than several days to build up buy volume, not spike up, plateau, then fall right back down. You're only losing money to fees that way.

The only thing that really stinks about this poll is how Novacoin is in the top four. Oldest scamcoin in history, I'm sure Balthazar is enjoying life with his horde of premined coins, especially since it mints maybe ~1300 coins a day. Can't believe that garbage is still on btc-e..

There seems to be a lot of pressure building up within the altcoin world, maybe the strain of having too many is finally making a point? Fight, fight for your coin-god!  Roll Eyes
1 month ago the comments made about Primecoin today would have been made about Goldcoin.  Of course, one big thing to remember: Goldcoin did so poorly against BTC that it was converted to LTC trading on Cryptsy.  This means Goldcoin is in the minor league while Primecoin is still in the majors.  1 BTC = ~35 LTC = ~154 XPM = ~55,000 GLD.

In the words of the immortal Stan Lee: 'nuff said.

I think the pool is great, I had no luck solo mining for 6 days, so I went pool.  Up to 31.5 XPM and counting Cheesy

I'm not a mathemetician but my understanding is that

A) There's essentially an unlimited number of primes. Even when youre talking numbers hundreds of digits long, yoiu'll still find primes in them pretty regularly (every couple hundred digits or so).

B) Primecoin isn't even trying to find the biggest primes out there - indeed if it was and did, Sonny would qualify for some pretty big reward money

I have a feeling that the biggest primes are safe since the top 10 are all Mersenne Primes found by GIMPS.  Primecoin has helped find record Cunningham primes in the 120-160 digit length, GIMPS' record is something like 17 million digits.  The next reward from EFF is for a 100,000,000+ digit prime ($100,000) and a 1,000,000,000+ digit prime ($150,000).

means (2^332.xxx.xxx)-1 , to confirm that a number this large is prime with LL would need 2000 hours with a GTX Titan or 3400 hours with an 8-core CPU
now you have to see that the chance to find a Mersenne Prime in that range is 1 : 370000 (many candidates are proven composite with trialfactoring)
so normally it would need ~168.000 years for one person to find a 100,000,000+ digit prime, try your luck Wink
I used 2 cores of an i5 2500k on such a number and it took over 200 days to complete.  Using an 8 core CPU would be a huge power waste for very little speed gain.  The P95 program is very efficient, so memory bandwidth becomes an issue.  In addition, each iteration depends on the one prior, so parallelation is impossible.  IIRC, on my 2500k, using a single core would run at 144ms per iteration, 2 cores at 75ms, 3 cores at 60ms and all 4 core 55ms.  VERY inefficient with multiple cores.

They are coming right out and saying they are using SHA256 ASIC chips and using the GPUs as converters.  They are either piling it high and deep or someone has had one heck of a breakthrough.

1,000,000 premine..  so that's like 4,000,000 blocks premined since it's only .25 coins per block.

oh yeah this is a great coin to mine.  Let me throw my 20Mhs at this baby!!

INGENIUS IDEA!!

Yeah, but the sweetner is we will need to mine far more than 4,000,000 blocks since the reward halves each year lol

in 14 years all the miners together will have mined half of what the premine is ....

wtf are we all waiting for.....let's get cracking.

Welcome to the most insane premine of all time.
What's worse, they claim to be a 500 year coin.  30,000,000/500=60,000 per year/365=164 per day/2880 = .057 per block IF THERE WAS NO HALVING.  Starting with .25 per block, after 1 year .125, 2 years, .0625, 3 years .03125... already unsustainable.  262800 (total year 1) + 131400 (total year 2) + 65700 (total year 3) + 32850*497 = 16,786,350.

Heck, let's be crazy!  Let's keep the block rate for FIFTY YEARS!!!!! .25 per block for 50 years!  13,140,000 + 6,570,000 + 3,285,000 + 1,642,500 + 821,250 + 410,625 = 25,869,375
Damn, I thought I had it.

Ok, let's work this backwards!!! .00000001 is the smallest possible block reward, right?  let's double it, and again and again and.....wait.  After 30 years I'm at 5.36870912 block reward.  That can't be right!  15,461.8822656 coins per day * 365 = 5,643,587 coins... after 30 years that's be 11 million coins.  31 years would be 22 million, 32 years... 44 million... oops.

Well, thank god you don't have to know math to put out a clone coin!
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: July 31, 2013, 09:55:28 PM
Got home from work and did some preliminary testing (Data is very rough due to short testing time, though both CPUs are Q6600's with 8GB ram):

Baseline C2Q(40 hours):
11.5kPPS, 60SPH, 4.3VPH, 235-5ch/h, 17-6ch/h, 1.5-7ch/h
-s 200000 C2Q(1 hour):
15.9kpps, 44SPH, 2.3VPH, 140-5ch/h, 14.6-6ch/h, 0-7ch/h
-s 400000 C2Q(1 hour):
14.3kPPS, 65SPH, 2.9VPH, 270-5ch/h, 17.5 6ch/h, 0-7ch/h
-s 600000 C2Q(1 hour):
13.1kPPS, 49SPH, 2.6VPH, 232-5ch/h, 6.33-6ch/h, 1.27-7ch/h

I was about to start -s 800000 when I noticed mumus put out V4.

WOW! what a change.  The 4 systems went from 90k to 105k PPS, but I still dislike using that as a guide (test 1 above proves more PPS doesn't = more SPH or VPH)

So, combined SPH went from 380 to 460.  VPS went from 19.2 to 42.3 (only 90 min into run, so these may be artifically high due to luck), 5ch/h went from 1549 to 2810, 6ch/h was 104, now 246, 7ch/h from 8.1 to 19.

Looks like I will have to restart testing tomorrow after a good burn-in of V4, but I'm still making XPM.  Currently up to 20.38, if I am reading forum time right, that's not quite 7 XPM in the last 21 hours.

All I can say at this point: THANKS mumus!
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TERRACOIN ATTACK OVER 1.2TH ATTACK CONFIRMD on: July 31, 2013, 09:32:03 PM

The only plus side is he seems to be only burst mining and not outright destroying the network like he had been.

Maybe the attacker didn't want the coin dead. He wouldn't have stopped even after the fix if he wanted it to die. The burst mining is just to accumulate more coins at this point

If I were a guessing type of person I would guess, that maybe the attacker was simply testing out a newly modified Time Warp attack on the best SHA256 coin to test on since the exploit hasn't been used in over two years and before it's modded any further to work on scrypt based coins. Just guessing but I think TRC had the perfect testing environment, a high but not too high hash rate, a dev team that would counter and user base that wouldn't just fold.

All of this just theory of course but you're probably correct, the attacker didn't want to kill TRC.

~BCX~

The idea is interesting but if the purpose of the attack was to test it on a strong sha256 coin, why bother continuing to mine even after the fix was put in place? The only purpose for doing that is to generate more coins for themselves while network hash power and difficulty are low...but for what purpose would they need the coins if they wanted it dead?
One minor flaw in that theory, with the power he has to throw at the network, he can easily 51% it at will.  Maybe he is testing new ways of orphaning blocks.  Take a look at all of his latest blocks, never a transaction other than the 20 coins to him.  With the tipewarp fixed, he can no longer get 100's of blocks an hour, so he holds off, powers through ~200 coins, leaves.  Sure looks like a test to me.

Then again, maybe you are right and he's not out to kill it, after all, at current exchange rates, he's earning ~.27 BTC for 2 minutes work whenever he decides to.

Hi,
I received a message about a bot last week. I was curious so decided to give it a try, Auto trade feature works great and I now use it at all times day and night. Acnee, the owner of the program offers .1 bitcoin for every person that I refer to the program that end up purchasing.  You can use this bot for 7 days trial or you can buy it for .2 BTC.
Here is the link http://www.btcetradingbot.biz/

1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TERRACOIN ATTACK OVER 1.2TH ATTACK CONFIRMD on: July 31, 2013, 08:09:51 PM
Recent difficulty graph:

Each of those up-swings were prefaced by the attacker mining again.  1pan mined 17 blocks between 175000 and 175025, 13fk mined 175027-175038 and diff spiked through the roof.  After diff came down(53 hours!), 13fk mined 175064-175080 in 122 seconds.  Again after diff dropped(22.5 hours), 13fk mined 175107-175121 in 51 seconds.  Difficulty only took 2.5 hours to come down, then he mined 175152-175158 in 67 seconds, 12 hours later he mined 175188-175197 in 123 seconds and another 3 hours before he mined  175220-175228 in 133 seconds.  It's only been 2 hours, but he'll prob strike again soon.

The only plus side is he seems to be only burst mining and not outright destroying the network like he had been.

a dual core i7 laptop and two weeks of non-stop mining, and i got a block ! woot. now i just have to wait for the price to rise again. Smiley

ypool might get you 2+XPM/day.

no more than 0.2/day I think

in 25.5 hours I went from 5.28 to 13.66 XPM on ypool.  4 systems running mumus' 3.0 miner.  With the pool miner I had a total of 11.5k PPS, mumus says I'm getting almost 90, but I think the calculation is off.  I compared Cabin's miner to mumus' and the SPH are very similar.  Haven't tried the pool miner for shares, but I see they have .35 out.

You had a SUPER lucky streak then. You're the only one reporting these large gains. I am using Mumus' miner over 5 machines with slightly less PPS and in 25.3 hours made 0.933045 XPM. Hitting high share values has a lot to do with it. I wouldn't expect that your trend to continue.
I may have had a little luck, current amount is 16.67...(~3 in the last 12 hours?) PPS seems to be a BS stat to go on now, but here are total running avgs across my machines: 380 SPH, 19.2 VPH, 1549 5ch/h, 104 6ch/h, 8.1 7ch/h, PPS 81k.
Since 19.2/380=.05052, which is 4x the 5ch value and .4 times the 6ch value, I have not had 'super luck'.

I think too many people are trying to pump up their PPS values at the cost of either shares or share values.  It's obvious we need a new metric to look at, PPS is not it.  I think a lot of people have used something -s 100000 to maximize PPS at a loss of VPH.

11.5kPPS = 4.3 VPS on a C2Quad, 15kPPS = 5.4 VPS on an i7, 27kPPS = 9.2 VPH on i5 2400, 28.2k = 9.7VPH on i5 2500k.

From these numbers, it appears the C2Quad is doing best on VPH/PPS with stock settings, maybe the others need some tweaks.  I have a second C2Quad running YAC, maybe it's time to switch it over and do some testing since I have a baseline to compare against.

yay current block diff down to 45657 ... i guess 1 or 2 more blocks to reach positive ROI levels...
Then the attacker will dump his systems onto the coin and cause another spike.

But... since time wrap exploit has been fixed... they wont be able to do as much damage as before...
really?
