Hi. I have 600 watt psu. This psu not work S5.
600 watt adapter work s5 ?
Any details on PSU model may be?

S6 was skipped / replaced by S4+, next is S7.

Any details about what it will look like? Specs?

PIMP already contains the drivers. You can choose necessary version when downloading PIMP image.

The idea of booting under PIMP was to check whether it's a HW fault or not. Seems not.

Now I installed Win 10 x64 Insider preview, and achieved 8 Mh/s from each card using 14.9 AMD drivers.

The problem is solved. It's sad that Win10 is still buggy though... I'll test it for a while and if it is OK thenleave it, otherwise I'll restore a Win7 installation from backup copy.

Hello sir,
there was short batch or miners with heatsinks on a side.

not sure if factory will continue with that option.

Well... May be there are another words between the lines?

1525  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unified Thermal Core for antminer S5 blades? on: June 27, 2015, 04:35:27 AM

a triangle setup with 3 s-5 panels = 900 watts maybe 1100 if you push to freq 412.

two fans push pull with external controller I guess it could be done.

What for? Does anyone think that this will lead to some better S5 cooling? We all know that the main S5 problem is that the heat is removed not from appropriate side of the chip. That is why sticking a little radiators from another side of the PCB is so preferable. Even Bitmain understood this. That is how S5 should look from the first sold unit:

Just think though. In October, they can have a sale! Just in time for Christmas......

$999!!!

Pure speculation on my part. I wonder who will be buying at $1100+?

No one. 600-700 USD is our desireable price.
1527  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [lee group]419$ the sales promotion of hosted antminer S5(golden psu included) on: June 27, 2015, 04:23:52 AM
i heard it is 9000 CNY(1500$), too expensive

Yep, Mr. Lee. At least 2 times higher than we can even think to agree for.

Let them mine by themselves.  Embarrassed

I downloaded it from here: https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia/releases

Now downloading from siacoin.com. It's 50 Mb instead of 4 at github. Should work better.  Grin

It's so strange that SFARDS don't want for review of some test unit to appear here... It should rise the sales and it will be very good for SFARDS positive image...  Undecided

I've downloaded the PIMP to check whether it a HW fault or what. I've interchanged the GPUs across their slots again yesterday - the same behaviour, the same sgminer output with -n key.....

Under PIMP both GPUs working well, sgminer sending the shares from both and the pool accepting it...

Display Driver Uninstaller does not help, so as complete deleting and reinstalling the drivers both 14.12 and old ones.

I will reinstall Windows. I need a quick solution instead of red-eyed nights...  Undecided
1531  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S5 Pools on: June 24, 2015, 02:36:01 AM
smit1237 has created a firmware for S5 with built-in "nano" *nix text editor for us to be able to edit the configuration files directly in S5 ssh session.

I sent an email to you at info@sfards.com  in regards to the SF100

Thank you in advance for reading it.

Well, after all my shaman's dancings across that rig only one GPU still can mine...

In BIOS an integrated Intel videoadaptor appearantly can't be disabled in an explicit form. PCIE is selected as a primary video adaptor.

I've uninstalled Intel video driver and disabled a videoadaptor found by Windows affter reboot (without driver installation). It does not help.

I've reinstalled AMD Catalyst driver (with help of AMD Cleanup Utility). It does not help. "CrossFire" is disabled. What else should be checked?..

Here is how sgminer detects the devices:

 Undecided

Note that sgminer can only use the "lower" GPU for mining (farthest from the CPU), while FurMark utility can use only the "upper" GPU for rendering.

I've downloaded the PIMP to check whether it a HW fault or what. I've interchanged the GPUs across their slots again yesterday - the same behaviour, the same sgminer output with -n key.....

If only this SF100 could:

1) be shipped without PSU;
2) cost about 450-500 USD...

I need 2 units right now!  Roll Eyes

im not the expert on the windows issues - but i hope that is a start ...

edit - what is your command line parameters? ... maybe you are forcing it to use only one in the parameters ...

#crysx

Both GPUs was mine well untill this issue... I hope it's related to integrated Intel video, I'll try to disable it in BIOS and then (if it not help) to uninstall Intel drivers.

I'll let you know whether it solve the problem.  Smiley

Hi all!

Met a problem recently... One of 2 R9 290s became non-discoverable for sgminer somewhy. Both GPUs work (and mine) perfectly in both PCI-E x16 slots on MB, I interchanged them several times across those slots, so as the PCI-E cables from PSU. But when I insert both of them - only on can be found by sgminer. I did nothing related to HW or SW modification. What can it be? A MB or PSU issue?..

It looks like this:

Here is an output of Sgminer started with -n:

Code:
D:/Distrib/Mining/sgminer-5-0-windows>D:/Distrib/Mining/sgminer-5-0-windows/sgmi
ner.exe -n
[18:23:25] CL Platform vendor: Intel(R) Corporation
[18:23:25] CL Platform name: Intel(R) OpenCL
[18:23:25] CL Platform version: OpenCL 1.2
[18:23:25] Error -1: Getting Device IDs (num)
[18:23:25] clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable
[18:23:25] 0 GPU devices max detected

D:/Distrib/Mining/sgminer-5-0-windows>pause

WTF? As I mentioned above one of GPUs mine OK, but what does this output talking about?..

Please someone help...  Undecided

May be you also need a fan or two screwed to that bottom heatsink.  Cheesy

I would like to try this new miner too, but somewhy devs can't compile it for Windows again...
1540  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where would I look into buying miners? on: June 21, 2015, 08:37:01 AM
I am interested in opening a farm and purchasing a lot of miners.

Just wondering how my steps would be from here, are there any sites that actually work and send you your miners in time? Any trusted sites?

Yeah, there is at least one trusted site - bitmaintech.com. If you can say that there is an adequate customs in your country, then everything is usual OK when you order SHA-256 miners from Bitmain.

If you want to buy a lot of miners (here I mean really valuable quantuty of energy-efficient miners) - take a look at this: https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020150303100340162omIT01sg0693. Anyway you better talk with them via e-mail or by phone about possible discount even if you want to buy less than 1600 units.

Also you can buy some used S5s (or may be S4s too) from Chinese mining farms, but it appears to be very difficult to find such an offer, it can be found somewhere in Chinese Internet, so you need a Chinese friend or something... Once I saw such an offer at aliexpress.com, but suddenly the seller has disappeared...

What about other mining hardware than Bitmain? You can try to find some miners by Spondoolies.
