If only S5 was in the same case like SP20... Or like S3...
1902  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon4 1T Evaluation on: December 30, 2014, 12:15:48 PM
Yeah, I saw it at their site.  Wink Wondering why the review doesn't reflect that...
1903  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon4 1T Evaluation on: December 30, 2014, 08:02:02 AM
So it runs with separate controller (TP-Link or RasPi), right? Can't see this stated in this review.

What about overclocking? How to do it and what are the results?

Funny to see AntMiner-styled UI.  Grin
1904  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S-5 review. It has arrived some info is in! on: December 30, 2014, 07:44:50 AM
cheap design, not good
S5 sux
IMHO the main mistake is to use such an semi-open case. It should be just like S3 has, also with two fans to provide more intensive and directed airflow...
1905  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【ACTIVE】AntMiner S2 Tech Support- 4300 units powering a stable 4Peta GHS on: December 29, 2014, 02:31:08 AM
Build-in PSU can't handle OC...  Not Enough Juice

Who said that I'm on stock PSU? It has been replaced with Corsair AX1200i long ago... And S2 was running at 1.1 Th (at Slush's side) on Kano's firmware.

So my current PSU should be enough for overclocking, please share the appropriate methoda how to do it with newest official firmware.  Roll Eyes

Я небогат, могу позволить взять только один Sp20 по этой прекрасной промо-акции. Кто-нибудь желает поучаствовать?

До окончания акции осталось менее пяти часов. Шлите ЛС, если заинтересованы.

How about selling one unit in one hands? Haven't enough money to buy tho of them...   Cry
1908  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcment: Brand-new miner EMIC PowerModule - 5.65 TH/s on: December 27, 2014, 06:12:12 PM
Yes, enough talk. Send me a unit to review before Feb 2015, and I'll be sure to let everyone know your unit exists. PM me for my address. Philippines. And please use UPS or FedEx, not DHL or "normal" post.
I'm in Russia, so I am closer to him.  Cool
1909  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcment: Brand-new miner EMIC PowerModule - 5.65 TH/s on: December 26, 2014, 04:53:59 PM
Gleb, I will reverse my opinion if they'll simply send me the very first one miner for evaluation.  Cheesy But sure I will no pay them for it, maybe just the miner cost, but no more.
1910  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what are my chances of find a new bitcoin block with 2 Antminer s3+ solo mining? on: December 26, 2014, 04:50:22 PM
I would recommend you a ckpool instead.

Are there any plans for using escrow?.. I guess no, but I should ask.
1913  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: December 25, 2014, 11:22:18 AM
Online is a new version of firmware - https://bitmaintech.com/files/download/initramfs.bin.SD-20141029.tar.gz

Someone used it?

Not so new may be... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=515448.msg9389695#msg9389695

I have upgraded my S2 last week... Don't know how to overclock it now...

But S2 running stable.
1914  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcment: Brand-new miner EMIC PowerModule - 5.65 TH/s on: December 24, 2014, 06:11:49 PM
584.55 USD for 5.65 Th?! I'm in right now!!! But I am very afraid that your offer is just a scam. Usual artless scam. Hope I am wrong.  Cool

Each time new miner comes, there's the same speech. "Too cheap", "To powerful", "Not possible". For you guys nothing is good. Or it's too expensive or too cheap. Always wrong.
No-no-no-no-no, please don't get me wrong. Your miner looks really good. We just don't want to lose our money... Sure, faint heart never won fair lady. But too many people here (and not only here) lost their money with such new coming companies...
1915  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcment: Brand-new miner EMIC PowerModule - 5.65 TH/s on: December 24, 2014, 11:26:48 AM

I would like to announce, that we started selling our first EMIC PowerModule miner in the pre-order.

Hello!

"Customized cgminer 3.8" - oh, please use more fresh cgminer... It shouldn't be a big problem.

584.55 USD for 5.65 Th?! I'm in right now!!! But I am very afraid that your offer is just a scam. Usual artless scam. Hope I am wrong.  Cool

How about cash-on-delivery (I very like that scheme...)?

p.s. also "Built in 2 x 750W power supply" probably is not a best solution - what will buyer do in case of PSU failure? Should he wait for arrival of spare PSU from your store?
1916  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on Jan 4th [Sales Open] on: December 24, 2014, 03:37:18 AM
Employ a single person without an office and company to act as middleman? Not sure if it's against the law, but there's still cost of salary + cost of shipping miners to that person.
Having the miners go to EU by ship? Maybe, but you will get your miners 1 month later than everyone else.
The cost of shipping large batches of goods should be significantly lower than if you ship separate packages to separate people...
1917  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on Jan 4th [Sales Open] on: December 24, 2014, 02:00:08 AM
What do you mean by S3 upgrades, like the S1/S3 upgrade kits?
yes

Maybe, will look into it. I think the problem will be that the S3 is perfectly viable so no one will be turning them off for a while.

And what about upgrade kits for S2 with these new chips?
1918  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on 12/27 [Sales Open] on: December 23, 2014, 01:10:05 PM
Time is money. You knew that. )
1919  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on 12/27 [Sales Open] on: December 23, 2014, 01:05:32 PM
Since most of good PSUs are able to keep the efficiency factor high enough at load level less than 80% (IMHO) - so here is the formula for you to  roughly calculate necessary wattage of PSU. 590/0.8=737 Wt. So I would choose 700-750 Wt PSU for S5. 800+ Wt for overclocking.

As I read last several days in PSU reviews, often 12V lines are "virtual" - at hardware level there is ONE 12V line. ) But nevertheless the common recommendation is to choose PSU with single 12V line.

And after all above - look at the price and at the warranty period.  Cool
