Hi all! I am very new to this coin, but first thing I'd like to say is that crowetic's mining guide seems to be updated... In particular, it offers to create an account using some third-party tools while I was able to do it directly during the wallet installation. It's much easier, isn't it?.. Also I found that Windows wallet installation guide ( http://burstcoin.info/guides/) need to be updated too. For example, there's no need to edit run_java.bat under new walet's folder. Such file even does not exist there! In my case all java paths has been automatically found and wallet has been normally started with run.bat from the very first attempt. My goal is to make plots now (I want to make RAID0 with two 3Tb disks for BURST 'cause I heard that plots are being generated faster on RAID0). Then to start so called "mining".  Any advices are very welcomed! p.s. bhamon's GPU plot generator 4.0.3 can't detect my R9 290s automatically, only with use of "setup" option. |

What can I say about ideal miner?  1) Not overpriced; 2) Standalone with Ethernet (or two Ethernet) port(s), with possibility to deploy wi-fi (like on antminer S3 controller); 3) It should consist of steel (maybe) chassis and (why not?) plastic side/top/bottom panels to reduce weight and shipping cost. Probably good solution is to use a PC case (like in HashCoins Apollo) - buyer can buy specific case (and maybe the components of cooling system) at his/her local market. And yes - miner should be sold without power supply for the same reason. Someone use ATX PSU, someone use server PSU... 4) The cooling of the chips should be worked over very carefully to provide maximum possible heat dissipation. Customer should not rework it, only in case he is geek.  Ideal miner should be cold and quiet, or at least devs should try to make it cold and quiet. HDD the best So you decided to fuck up the community's brain here too?.. Buy S5 for 25000 RUB and enjoy REAL BTC-mining instead of your theorization. Meanwile deploy a HDD-"rig" and mine BURST if you really need it. Also buy some used GPUs to mine DASH, just to not store all eggs in one basket. Put it inside that HDD-"rig"... |

Hmm. My can do 0.51 Wt/Gh (freq. 400, 1.3 Th). At acceptable noise level. May be it is not so "dead quiet" like Avalon 4.1, but S5 a) cheaper, b) easier in deploying. Also, S5 is better in price/Gh if I am not mistaken. But you said it already. |
