Ha. "pending-evaluation" turned into "capacity-oversubscribed".

You guys are driving the instances prices up where nobody can make any money. Cut it out! Smiley

Regarding the poll to raise to 75% the amount of donations withheld to pay down debts -

Since none of the choices has received a majority vote, I would suggest that we perform an additional poll using the most popular two choices, 25%/75%, to see which would earn the majority.

+1

I think nonnakip mentioned he was planning to do this.

Odd that the donation dropped almost in half this week, since the last difficulty change wasn't very big. Some of the equipment not working maybe?

Can't wait for the new coins!

So alt-coins are kinda exploding along with Bitcoin, what are the plans for the alt-coin reserve?

$10 for a NMC... crazy  Grin

Holy cow. I had written those off.

If I were in such a position as the OP, I would barter for gold.

This may seem like a stupid question but how do you avoid getting fake gold? There are all kinds of scammers.

I did want to leave this render here for your viewing pleasure.

That looks amazing!

Also, I sell via coinbase so my BTC price is a bit nicer.

Have you done that consistently without problems?  I tried twice, once worked, the other one sell got cancelled even though the bitcoin price went up (go figure).

Has to be before. I spent $100 (no credit) playing with this and I got about 24 PTS

13972  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Cashing out of large amount of bitcoins on: November 27, 2013, 12:07:12 AM
Good luck. All of the exchanges seem shady, and I can't even figure out how to sell $50K worth without being deluged by messages from scammers who want me to send first.

Maybe by 2014 the scene will clean up some.
13973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free $100 Amazon EC2 Credit for CPU mining Photoshares or anything else... on: November 26, 2013, 08:38:25 PM
Can you also comfirm that there are only charges for the spot instances ? (No data xfer charges or other misc charges)?

You will be charged for data transfer, storage (each instance has a virtual hard drive and yes you are charged for that), etc.  Hopefully it won't add up to much.

EDIT: Apparently there is some storage and transfer usage allowed under the free tier. I don't know the limits.

My idea would be a gateway from bitmessage so people can submit material that way.

Code:
watch 'datacoind listaccounts & datacoind getmininginfo'

After putting that in how do I stop it watching so I can send them when I need to?

13975  Economy / Currency exchange / WTS 30-50 BTC for USD on: November 25, 2013, 11:44:02 PM
I'm looking to sell 30-50 BTC in some way that I'm not going to get scammed, probably bank wire or something like that. Escrow is definitely possible. I've been around bitcoin and this forum for a couple of years and I traded a bunch way back in the day (mostly between namecoins and bitcoins) but I've not done anything near the current values, so I'm looking for advice how to do it safely.  Post here or PM
13976  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can you guys help me get Olaf's (Coinbase) attention? :/ on: November 25, 2013, 10:01:01 PM
Funny how the cancellations for buys always happen when the price of BTC goes up  Roll Eyes

That would be a logical explanation, except that I had a sell (apparently) canceled after the price of BTC went up.

I think they are just not handling things very well.

Is ypool down again?
Yep, it looks like it's that situation, again  Undecided I wonder if AWS would keep on charging per hour,  even after no network activity... Huh

They will not miss charging you, network activity or not. Nothing on the ypool twitter account either.  Sad

It is possible to set up alarms though.

13978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free $100 Amazon EC2 Credit for CPU mining Photoshares or anything else... on: November 25, 2013, 08:12:59 PM
YPool is down again, seems like cc3.8 spot instances prices are 0.8 + in AP-Jap , any idea whats the performance diff between cc2 and cc3 ?

There is very little difference in performance. Do not pay 0.80 for this, you will lose money. It is roughly break even for cc2. In fact other than the $100 free credit there is no real reason do this at current prices unless you really want to put money into PTS.

13979  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Visit of ASICMINER's Immersion Cooling Mining Facility on: November 25, 2013, 07:59:43 PM
Great article, just wondering how do the blades not short out in water ? as usually if you put anything electrical submerged in water it will just brake.

I take it these are special designed blades that work underwater ?

It's not water, it's a "cooling fluid" made by 3M.
13980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Serious qestions about CEX.io and other cloud mining services on: November 25, 2013, 09:28:03 AM
I would stay away from the virtual mining thing.  If you wanna mine, just buy the hardware, mine with it and once it becomes unprofitable, sell it on ebay.  Trust me, alot of dumbasses will buy old mining equipment with no understanding of ROI.
Also, even if you don't want to do it yourself, you can find reputable group buys on here that include hosting for much less than CEX.
