Excellent, didn't know about allcoin... it's a start. It would nice if some of the current holders donated to help with the development. Maybe then we would see regular updates on the wallet.
unick, you've helped with the explorer which is great and just shows you some of those top addresses. If everyone donated just 1% of their stacks we could give the coin a big boost.
Top 200 addresses hold 27M, 1% would really make a big difference, not just development but also marketing.
Considering how many coins are in the wild, very few are available to buy. And even less people actively supporting the coin here, which makes it all that more difficult.
100% agree with you, regular wallet updates is what we need. But as a community backed coin, we're not doing very well to support that!
Re: cryptsy
As the coin hasn't been added to the vote list, my guess is they decided not to add it. Because other coins have been added since my email.
That's why I contacted AllCoin to consider the coin and they kindly added it within a day. So we have somewhere to trade, because coinex can no longer be trusted!
About Cryptsy, I am sure we could work something out, but it might take more time About funding... For the few funds that I manage to withdraw from CoinEx, I believe most of those top wallets come from CoinEX... since withdrawing coins made those wallet move! The other thing is that we don't know how many of those people are still aware that the coin is resurrected!?! So who knows how much we have to fund the project with! That is why I'm asking if soopy is in for the long haul. I'll send him 5k GRW now. I still hope to see my coins from coinex (yes I am a believer ) I'll chip in another 15k GRW when I can withdraw those. I think if we all contribute to develop the core (wallet) and the edges (website, explorer, reddit, forum, wiki, marketing) we can do a long way with that EDIT: can't find soopy GRW address, please post it EDIT: If the community approves, I can start a new thread, I can take in charge of updating/maintaining the OP

I love these prices Another 85 cents to go Nice and steady raise, who doesn't love that ? And 75 cents to go EDIT: broke the 1M$ market cap

I have contacted Poloniex to see if they would list us Are people still in for the Cryptsy paid voting? I had a few thousand GRW bought on CoinEx that I can't withdraw for over a week and a half So with the non communication of CoinEx, I guess we need another (and BETTER) exchange to make some trades with this coin What are you working on soopy? I am heavily involved with HoboNickels, the community is just great. The main reason for the coin's success is constant development. I would love to see this coin value improved. I am not a wallet developer, but maybe I can support you soopy in some ways (just pm me) We were talking about incorporating a few new features - Coin control
- Automatic Checkpoints
- Unlock for minting button
- Market data inside the Qt(last price, volume, etc)
- Dynamic wallet loading (that would be nice)
- Name change to something like Growthbond
- Clean up of OP and source code (with official website in the readme) --- Maybe starting a new thread since the resurrection part is done
We also need some people willing to manage a forum/wiki (both?), the Reddit (is there even one?) and do some marketing material (I think we have some talented people on board regarding this topic) These are the kinds of things that if are looked at on a constant and regular basis, will attract new investors into the project and give long term value to the coin. So I guess the question is to soopy. Are you committed to developing this coin? We don't expect you doing everything, but since the wallet is the main pillar of any crypto, you are an important part of this success. Forget the pumps and dumps. Coins like these have an advantage, especially GRW witch has some history (established block chain) and I do love the fact it's PoW/PoS hybrid status. Miners will want to grab some of it, you can bet on that.

Love the paper-wallet, but could u upload a highres version? the backround is a bit pixelated when u print it out. Also found an error once u create the paper-wallet: Spend your BitcoinPlus by going to hbn.blockx.info and sweep the full balance of your private key into your account at their website. should be xbc right Hey guys, corrected the typo and uploaded a higher resolution for the wallets art Also added the destroyed address balance on the richlist (last record) and removed it from the calculations to reflect the new reality

what's the donation address and who's holding the coin?
Johnny I will pay unick from my wallet if I receive the required amount in pledges before any AC is sent, once the block explorer and hosting is completed I will ask for the pledged amounts to be sent to my wallet. Does that work for everyone? If not I am open to suggestions. That sounds good to me, I'll send you my coins now... Thank you, but let's hold off until everything is completed and I will ask for a collection of pledges posting my AC address in my signature. Right now our goal is 70,000 AC, we have 26,000 pledged, unick the block explorer dev is on board to accept AC for his work. Here again is some examples of his work... http://mint.blockx.info/http://fac.blockx.info/Even if you don't donate directly, HODL and keep the price up so we get a better conversion rate or point your miners at the multi-pool. Everyone can play a part. I see you guys have an explorer up and running, if you still need me, just let me know

In fact it will combine blocks automatically once they get to small! So just let the wallet do the work, and sit back and enjoy.. for real? what is the threshold?

Happy birthday bud, It's nice to see dedicated people helping out the crypto world! I think any early adopters of bitcoin didn't/coulnd't know that it was going to be what it is today back then. so most likely, those that got filthy rich were those who forgot about their wallet. I've had that moment too with bitcoin/alt when it hit me: This is here to stay and be part of our future. I've been invested and helping the community since then. Good luck with your projects

I can't still withdraw my Growthcoins... it sucks I guess what is even more frustrating is NOT having any feedback... I mean it's just NOT possible that they got stolen their Growthcoin... No other exchange are trading it so why would a thief want those worthless coins! (and I'm sure it's true for a few other alts). If I was going to the trouble of hacking a site... I would take BTC/LTC/DOGE but wouldn't bother too much with the low cap alts! So my guess is that they've put offline a few alts wallets (maybe to cut down server costs). I'm sure pretty much any alts are still in their wallet but just not connected to the network anymore. I think it's been long enough we are left without any clear news on what is really going on. An official update would be nice at this point.

Got a question: lynn_402 says " No need to keep the computer on 24/7. PoS coins accumulate coin-age, thus if you keep some in a cold wallet for a year and unlock your wallet for minting, you'll find a PoS block in very short time, which should give you almost the same interest that if you kept your wallet always open (less the small compound interest)" Not fully understanding POS yet, I'd like to ask is this true? read this http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Proof_of_Stakeif it wasn't already done

Tranz I don't quite understand why you need to specify that you want 500 keys assigned when you create a wallet. I did not do this (I didn't specify anything I just created a second wallet using buttons/menus not by typing commands. Am I going to run into a problem?
Most likely no.. Especially if are primarily staking and not much sending/receiving. You can always top up the keypool and then back it up. The larger the keypool the more keys are in you wallet, the more transactions it can do before it is necessary to back it up again. This applies for every coin out there. When you say back it up, do you mean back up the wallet? I back up all my wallets obsessively. Does backing it up do something related to the keys? Sorry I really am not familiar with the inner workings of coin wallets... yes. When you ask for a new address in the client, it does not create a new address on the fly, it takes it from the key pool most likely generated when you first created your wallet. By default it creates 100 addresses (or 101, I'm not sure). If you always reuse the same address, you'll never use up all the keypool's addresses. But if you need let's say 200 addresses, you need to generate the missing addresses. What happens is that the keypool will now contain 200 addresses but your backup will still have only 100 addresses. Now if something goes wrong and you used addresses between 100 and 200. They won't be backed up and you might lose the coins sent to those address. That's why Tranz said that when you generate a new set of addresses, it is good practice to back up the wallet right after they have been generated to make sure you have in a safe place all your private/public key pair. Try to play with the RPC command dumpwallet. You will visually see in a text file, all your keys and this will make more sense. It's also a nice way to print out your keypool and physically store it in a safe place.

Hi I have 3 minning rigs all running on one LAN
Now if i want to Solo mine hbn straight to a wallet do i have to install the wallet on each of the minning pc's or can i install the wallet just once on a 4th pc and have the 3 minners use the one wallet on the 4th pc
thanks
You need to have one pc (not on the miners) running the client in the HoboNickels.con file of that pc running the client, you should add the rpcallowip= for each ip of your rigs (if you are on the same subnet, I believe you can use wildcards like rpcallowip=192.168.1.*). If you are behind a router, you only need to put your public IP there. Then on your rigs, simply add a pool and put the IP as the url from the pc running the client and the rpcport= (like URL:PORT) the username password will be the rpcusername= and rpcpassword= from that same config file Newly mined block rewards will be on the wallet from that pc, you can then transfer those coins back to your main wallet when they mature. thanks in this .conf file why is there two different ports OR is it a mistake listen=1 daemon=1 server=1 rpcuser=*your hobo name* rpcpassword=*Your hobo quote* port=7372 rpcport=7373 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 addnode=5.249.152.30 not a mistake 7373 is the port you solo with that's correct, you need to point your miners to the IP:rpcport of the wallet described above. The other port setting is for the listening port connecting to other nodes on the network.

wow nice one, i went in around 10K (not bad either) if hbn were to go anywhere near thoses prices again i would buy it all
Don't worry, it shouldn't happen soon... because I'd buy them all too, and a few others on this thread would do the same so... not going to happen that being said, this was a great ride so far, I manage to fill up the tank from back when they were 2k and manage to pick up a 30k block near 8k sat... that one was great

A small update would be nice. I still get the address invalid error and can't withdraw my coins... been over a week now!
If you can convert them to litecoins or bitcoins, maybe you can probably still withdraw them. Today I was able to withdraw only litecoins everything else was giving me an error. I'm tired of CoinEX and their problems so I converted everything to LTC and then withdraw all. Most of the coins can't withdraw (giving some error), others are going in a black hole after withdraw, and never arrive in wallet or on blockchain. I can't convert my coins to ltc/btc or I'll lose a lot... Also I don't want to convert them, I just bought those coins and been trying to send them to my wallet for over a week. It sucks, I don't mind waiting for a bit but then again how long is that? It sucks even more that those coins are PoS and I'm losing on that also Anyways thanks for the reply, I hope to hear from CoinEX soon!

Hey guys,
I was hoping you could help me with an idea I have. I have been following new scrypt asics for a while now, nearly buying a miner a few times. Now I was wondering(attempting to justify) buying a new miner and thought what if I divested 50% of HBN position to buy a miner and then pointed it at the multi pool to be paid out in HBN daily.
My question is wouldn't this increase the value of my other 50% HBN investment because the muli-pool would be buying HBN in the market to pay me? So I would not only be making a ROI through HBN mined but also increasing the price of my remaining position?
Also if we all agreed to buy miners together for the multi pool wouldn't this substantially increase the value of HBN as well?
Note: this is assuming I buy the latest best value ASIC as soon as it is released. Ofcourse I am also not including % lost due to 2% stake and increases in mining difficulty as well.
That would be an interesting idea but a few issue must be taken into consideration. Miners depreciate over time ASIC miners wont be shipped before 2-3 months waiting time Difficulties will likely rise rendering the miners less competitive and less profitable What is unknown is how fast is the difficulty will rise in SCRYPT mining. I don't think I would personally continue the mining race. The window of ROI is rather small and you have to be quick to turn over your asset. That being said, if you don't own any mining rigs you could have a few ASICS since mining is not only important to secure the block chain, it's also fun and can give you a way to enter any given market without investing BTC you previously have. If you already own a rig, I would point it to hashco.ws and get paid in HBN right away. The sell side of HBN has low volume, so we don't need that much people to point their rigs to the multipool to see a nice appreciation of the value of HBN. Your reasoning about the multipool and appreciation of the other half of your investment by rising the price is correct. What is hard to evaluate is, will HBN rise faster than the ASIC depreciate (and will your ASIC be able to buy you enough HBN at the multipool). If you believe so, might be worth a shot, if you fear it's not, better hold to your current HBN position. You also have to consider delivery time of your ASIC... if it takes 3 months to ship, where will HBN price be in 3 months? (if price goes up, it's good for your other half, but you will be buying less from the market with your ASIC miner, not even considering the negative impact of difficulty rising) 3 months ago, HBN was trading around 8k-10k sat, while I'm writing this it's at 53k sat. Not only will you lose your stakes (2%) for that waiting period, but you might lose a nice appreciation too!
