nav, yes I would suggest you read a bit wider than wiki.

The law that Ken is following is US law and that does not allow him to hold the shares to take the divs. It entitles him to sell Ukyos assets to recoup the loss. Ken is offering them to the market to recoup company losses, it happens everyday in America, often at public auctions.
582  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 04, 2014, 12:04:14 AM
nav I already told you - look up lien. These shares are not ours to destroy.
583  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 03, 2014, 11:50:49 PM
Jo-

I know you might not see it this way but this is a great buying opportunity. Why not buy more shares?

You might want out but I want this company to succeed and if Ken thinks ACtM should secure this 106 btc right now then he should.

Ken can't destroy the shares they are Ukyo's seized assets.
584  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 03, 2014, 11:37:16 PM
All 10mill shares get divs no matter what people pay for them and we can only take 106btc from these assets - no more. Its not so hard to understand.

If Ken sold them at 0.01 we would still only make 106 btc from them.

nav there are no rules Ken can offer them to the market at any price - what rules??
585  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 03, 2014, 11:26:35 PM
navitatl

You don't understand lien. We can not legally take any more than 106 btc from these assets. We can't keep the divs then sell shares to the value of 106btc.
586  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 03, 2014, 11:19:19 PM

You're basically throwing away .002 "investor guaranteed" BTC per share when you sell at that price. It's a very questionable choice IMO.

That's not correct. Every share gets the same div payout and it doesn't matter who owns them or what they paid. ACtM will only get their lost money back from this no more. So the price they go for has zero impact on us so long as we make our BTC back.
587  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 03, 2014, 11:07:39 PM
Good job. Lets get this money back onto the ACtM balance sheet asap.

Jesus what a bargain.
588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are BTC prices not moving ? on: February 03, 2014, 06:38:56 PM
This zone of consolidation is inevitable after such a huge move upwards. It is an essential development if price is to continue rising, as this zone will become a new base from which future rises can be measured against.

If the adage 'everything that goes up must come down' is true then the exception would be 'everything that goes up, and consolidates, can happily continue on upwards'.

You are correct... $50 in shipping on thousands of pounds of gear...

I can go on but the paint's almost dried.

'Total Fixed Costs - $1,340,000'

Take your blinders off for a minute. Now tell me how operation costs aren't key numbers. How do you release a profit forecast without any consideration for these costs?

Well how do you know costs are not factored in already?

EDIT - excellent questions finlof. You are asking the crucial questions about this project at this time.
591  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 03, 2014, 06:00:01 PM

This sort of thing does more harm than good. It's not realistic and honestly paints a picture that you don't have a full operational plan.

I couldn't disagree more. This is crunching the key numbers, which is essential to the viability of any project. The fact that, as you've pointed out, there are other costs involved in such a project is hardly a revelation. I'm sure Ken is well aware that you have to pay rent on a premises and actually pay electrical installers etc - they don't work for free. But these one-off and on-going costs will not amount to 2.3Million dollars so if they haven't been factored in we will still make a huge profit. If they have been factored in the entire amount will go to shareholders.

Now I really despair when Ken updates us with  something like this and people say it's useless and unrealistic. Says who? What do you know anyway shaofis? I mean really, what do you know about Ken's premises plans or his electrical contractors? Absolutely nothing. If you are concerned about other expenses impacting on this profit line why not ask Ken if he can clarify? Why is your first reaction so dismissive? I'll tell you what if I were Ken and this is the reaction I got on here constantly, everyday, I wouldn't spend much time on here. Would you?

btw - you are right about the operational side of this project and I was about to post on that very topic.

Instead of constantly asking about your shares, if anyone wants to see any return on this investment, I suggest you start asking Ken about the work he is doing to make the farm a reality. Why is no-one asking Ken about the premises we will be using, the electrical installation work needing to be done, the assembly capacity we have, the boards, the engineering team we will be relying on? There is still a lot of work to do to make this farm operational and viable - chips are only half the battle. Stop asking about shares, start asking about the farm.

Enough of this circle jerking, meaningless side projects and useless weekly "reports" with 0 actual value.

Eskimo - a 3 month plan adds zero value to the balance sheet too. Plans are speculative, wafer orders are not.

Ken just got us slotted into UMC's February run (at what sounds very short notice) and will be getting wafers in April. So how is a report plan going to change that? I've put up projections and they were shot down. Ken could do the same, they will equally be shot down. So it's not worth the effort - is it??
593  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 02, 2014, 10:27:04 PM
here we go again.

Now that we have a firm date for the first small wafer batch and the subsequent larger wafer batch, has anybody done any calculations about how many PH or percentage of a PH we will get from the 55nm chips?

Also, do we know if these 55nm's are solely for company farming or will they also be sold to retail?
594  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 02, 2014, 08:14:37 PM
kleeck you are right, lots of real world investments have paybacks over multiple years. For us to get the full IPO amount of 0.0025 back in divs even over 2 years would be an incredible real world investment return.

What I really meant was it's been a long time considering we haven't been trading for a long time. When you can't liquidate a few % of your holdings when the car breaks down or the rent is due it's not ideal. But your general point is correct - in the real world you make a 5, 10 or 15 year investment plan and you are not even guaranteed a good return - not with the global economy in it's current state.

595  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: February 02, 2014, 06:58:12 PM
Interesting development. It's a difficult one, the longer that trading is delayed the more shares will be trading for on the first day - as we will be closer and closer to putting our 55nm's on boards.

On the other hand it's been a long long investment and people obviously need to liquidate some of their shares.

If we can get some news out on the press sites over the next 2weeks about our 55nm that would bring in new investors on CC. If we could do that and launch on CC the prices for our shares will be higher on CC than they will be on CT. It could  create global interest. Potentially it could be a huge boost. For the few weeks delay it would cause, I think it could well pay off for all current holders.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hedge fund boss: Bitcoin over gold? Are you kidding? on: February 01, 2014, 11:35:09 PM
Gold is a currency of very limited utility in this age of the internet.

Can you send gold through the internet to pay a bill or transfer gold to a friend in another country? Can you pay for goods on Overstock with Gold? No, and you never will be able to.

Even in the real world - can you use gold over the counter to pay for goods? Can you walk around with a pocket full of gold while out on a shopping trip and be safe? Gold is an asset class only because it is a sought after commodity for jewellery. If we didn't use gold in jewellery it's value would be lower than that of copper. There are many rare elements that are worth next to nothing because there is no demand for them. Bitcoin is becoming an asset class because of it's utility. In the near future it will be in demand as the virtual currency of exchange. So just like gold it's asset value will be based firmly on it's desirability by the wider public. Not everyone wears gold but soon almost everyone will be spending bitcoins. So it is both the new Gold and the new virtual currency to topple many monopolised aspects of the closed-shop FIAT network.

Give him BTC in monthly installments or ignore him?

Can he find out where you live from the hacking he has done? If he can, treat this seriously.

I wish I knew a way to tip this guy - his copy and paste skills are well above average.

Without chips and boards the shares are worth nothing anyway. I think Ken kinda has the right idea here.
