Better idea, boycott the american government by taking a low wage job and receiving welfare benefits thus draining national capital reserves, starve off the beast.

Living on the poverty line. That'll show em.

Screwing oneself to take down the government is not a good method.

Maybe I should have added a /s to the end of my statement. Thought my sarcasm was obvious.
2024  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Oscar Pistorius found guilty of culpable homicide on: September 17, 2014, 04:30:12 AM
I was personally surprised he was found guilty at all. I think it likely had something to do with the likely fake witnesses that said he had hired acting coaches to help him act like he was sad and crying during the trial.

I was also surprised as to just how long the trial lasted. This was not that complex of a case but it lasted for months on end. In the US even the most complex cases do not last more then a few weeks.

It was so apparent that he was faking the crying. The judge even stated at the end that he seemed more worried with his statements then his actual emotion of what he had done.

The bathroom had no window. Where was the robber going to go? He didn't even look at the bed to see where his girlfriend was before he started blasting away at a locked bathroom door?

Dude deserves the 15 year max for culpable homicide but will most likely get nothing.

Easy gambling! So quick to deposit/withdraw as opposed to fiat.

2026  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't you wish you never had any alcohol? on: September 17, 2014, 04:18:13 AM
just try spending an hour or two with drunks while you remain sober. you wont envy them. in fact, you will barely be able to tolerate them. drinking is a waste of time.

There's a difference between being an alcoholic drunk and having recreational drinks.

One or two drinks can help people loosen up and have a better time.
2027  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which console should I buy???? on: September 17, 2014, 04:16:46 AM
Really happy with my Xbox One purchase, although I don't play it too often.

The benefits they added to Gold include tons of free games and rewards.

Also really easy to switch between TV and loading screens in games.  Grin

2029  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 4.5% daily return... What idiot believes this? on: September 17, 2014, 04:13:39 AM
Let people put their money wherever they want. This is not a child forum, you know.

Or you should also police the altcoin forum because most coins will die pretty soon, the gambling section because people may lose, the food people eat because it might not be the healthiest option, etc

Anyone seriously invested in altcoins is a lost cause.

Not really.

1- Recognizing legitimate coins before they become popular and pumping them.

OR

2- Pumping and dumping coins as one of the early investors.

A lot of money is to be made if you are among the original few to a decent altcoin, can help pump it and know when to dump it.

It doesn't make sense to invest in most coins if you come in late as they are bound to die soon.

You realize this behavior causes other people to lose money for your gain and it perpetuates the creation of more garbage alt coins to scam people?
2030  Other / Politics & Society / Re: President Obama sending 3000 troops to fight Ebola on: September 17, 2014, 04:08:20 AM
The problem is getting slowly out of control, and there is really minimal coverage regarding it in the West.

There was a news story that by Christmas time they are predicting approximately 500k will have been infected with Ebola. I can't believe that.
2031  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's the future of the marijuana industry? on: September 17, 2014, 04:05:49 AM
In case Marijuana becomes legal within the next 10 years, most of the drug cartels around the world will lose their main source of income.  Grin

Also, the national parks within the United States will no longer be cut down to plant hemp by the Mexican drug cartels. Also, the state and federal governments will benefit a lot, in terms of tax money.

If they legalized Marijuana and Cocaine, the cartels would be out of business.

Legalize cocaine? Yeah , I just want to see the country where this will become legal.
Pure curiosity , would you want to live there?
Cocaine is a horrible drug. It is generally considered to be a "hard" drug as it has very serious effects on you and your body. Any government that seriously considers to legalize cocaine is just crazy

Why is it considered hard and why is it horrible? Because people abuse it?

Cocaine has been used medicinally, ceremonially, and recreationally since the pre-Columbian era. Pope Leo XIII carried around a flask of cocaine-laced wine called Vin Mariani. The 1886 recipe for Coca-Cola included coca leaves. Sigmund Freud even wrote about its use for exhilaration and lasting euphoria. It wasn't until 1903 that the American Journal of Pharmacy wrote about its ability for abuse by "degenerates".

The point of decriminalization is to get help for abusers instead of jail time and to take money out of the pockets of illegal gangs/cartels that profit from it. Most of the time through extreme violence. Any government that doesn't seriously consider decriminalization is just crazy.
The reason that cocaine is considered to be a "hard drug" is because it is so easy and so common to get addicted after using it for recreational purposes just a few times (if not the first time). Help is already available to people who abuse cocaine and other hard drugs, it is just that if they are caught with a certain amount of it they will also face criminal charges. The criminal aspect of it will likely cause people to not try it (and not get addicted to it) in the first place.

This logic is ridiculous.

What about prescription drug abuse that is so rampant in this country? Are those considered hard drugs because they are easy to get and are extremely addictive?

People break their own legs/arms so that they can get these prescription drugs.

The idea that the criminal aspect will make people not try something is completely laughable. Illegality contributes to black market sales which contain chemically unsafe products and many of these drug deals end in violence.

2032  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 17, 2014, 04:01:48 AM
Also here is something that most people mistake about islam is that "Islam hates other religions" for this I say, Islam does not hate ANY religion

My religion is drawing cartoons of Religious figures having dirty nasty sex with pankakes, a buffalo and Paris Hilton. When I do so for Allah how many Muslims will call for my death? When I do so for <insert non-islam religion's important figures here> how many <insert non-islam religion's general name> will call for my death?

The answer for the second is "almost nobody"; for the first is "a lot".

IRL I don't draw cartoons of Religious figures having sex. In fact I don't draw at all. But I love the freedom to do so about any topic that I should choose. That's freedom. If some people can't respect my freedom then f'ck them.
I think this is the problem with Islam. The religion says that it is okay to use violence against people who do not share their faith and people who leave their religion.

Granted many wars have been fought over religion however the teaching of the other religions at least preach non-violence.

That's not what Islam says. What kind of religion would condone violence?

If you follow that kind of logic, what would you consider the Crusades?

2034  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Co-Op games would you reccomend for me and my friend? on: September 17, 2014, 03:35:34 AM
My friend, and I gotten addicted to Left 4 Dead 2 duo, and we wanted to know what games you recommend? We need MOAR.

You're looking for a co-op pointless shooting or and adventure, rpg? I'd recomend Obscure 2, or download Crash Bash for PSX. I love split-screen games, but sadly, there are almost none on the pc. If you are willing to play some psx or ps2 games, I'd recomend Twisted Metal series aswell.

Can there please be a Twisted Metal remake? Most memorable franchise for me to date.
2035  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mobile Games on: September 17, 2014, 03:32:24 AM
Clash of Clans is hands down the most entertaining mobile game I have played.

Although, it is with a group of friends, so that might make it more fun.
2036  Other / Off-topic / Re: Wtf on: September 17, 2014, 03:31:39 AM
I think its because most of the info is there if you dig deep enough, but certain threads, like the price tracking one, are so deep, 8000+ pages, I'd rather read war and peace than get bogged down in that!

It because most people are here to troll or to try to manipulate the market or to convince others to do whatever they are doingo, and not seek the truth.

Things will start to make more sense if you keep it in mind.

That's why I ask alot of questions instead of actually reading through millions of pages lol. But alot of people always get annoyed and say "why don't you just read or search for it".

If anyone tells you to search for something, they have obviously never used the site search function.

Would be easier to google what you are looking for and find the bitcointalk thread that way.
2037  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Al-Qaeda Has Appealed To ISIS To Release British Hostage Alan Henning on: September 17, 2014, 03:24:07 AM
You know you are shitty when another terrorist organization is telling you that you're fucked up.

ISIS won't care though. They already executed thousands of innocent people.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. It is not uncommon for a person to listen to their peers as al-quada is to ISIS.

I would certainly say that the way things are going the ISIS is likely going to eventually be attacked by European countries because countries in Europe are not going to continue to put up with how they are acting and what they are doing.

One of the countries such as Saudi Arabia needs to step up and put troops on the ground to aid with the air strikes but none of them will nut up because they don't want to help the other side (Sunni/Shiite). Really fucked up and sucks for all the innocent people being killed in the region over religious politics.
2038  Economy / Services / Re: BTCTalkers Posters' Guild on: September 17, 2014, 03:16:57 AM
This is actually a pretty good idea. A lot of these campaigns get bogged down by spammers who just want to make a quick BTC. Also wastes a lot of time to search through somebody's posts for a campaign to see if they are fully contributing. It would be very convenient for signature campaign promoters to contact a reliable/efficient group. I would definitely be on board for something like this.

Only suggestion is to grab people that normally post in a variety of sections so that advertising can be in full effect.

2040  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can I be implicated for buying a steam gift ? on: September 17, 2014, 01:27:59 AM
Buying a steam wallet code can screw you over, if the seller used a stolen CC.

But can buying a steam gift implicate you in any way ? If the seller used a stolen CC, on maybe a new account, to buy a gift and give it to you ?

You can get screwed this way. I've heard stories of steam shutting down whole accounts because of buying 1 game with stolen credit card information.
