According to what he said, he was going through some financial hardships and had to pay for school. He also earned a degree if I remember correctly, so not all went to waste. At least NEM was helpful for him when it was needed the most, which I can say probably is the case with a lot of people here.

I can tell you I needed the money too for things like car repair, for example (among other things). Shit happens all the time. I just worked harder and longer hours. Looking back now, I don't really know why I wasn't selling even after I crossed well into millions.  It turned out to be pure luck though, as just as I started selling, everything crashed within a month after that. I was just lucky to pick the right time -- it was not some genius plan.

I sold all the nxt too but still have all the ardor.  Haven't sold any, even though at their peak they were over $1.5 I think

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 19, 2019, 03:04:22 AM

kodtycoon made a few statements of regret from selling early if I remember correctly, and that was during the $0.20 USD run NEM had about 1+years before 2017.

I don't get it. Why sell everything? Even though I made insane amount of cash, I left plenty of nem, ETH, BTC (and other crypto) somewhere in cold encrypted wallet, just so that someday, 5, 10, or 20 years from now, I won't regret selling everything. Maybe everything will go to zero in 20 years, but who cares? I would rather still own some even if it's zero than not own anything.  I actually do own a lot of dead coins that I never ever sold but they are all dead. Oh well.. so what.

Guys what were your agenda here back then?! Why were you trolling?
Was it to lower the price and buy more XEM cheaper or what?

I m not sure. I wasn't happy about developers keeping unclaimed stakes. Also, Nem was started by guys who were involved in nxt, and most of the people here came from nxt. But some of the new nem stakeholders were loudmouth nxt bashers, and that would piss me off too. I am not sure the exact reason why I wasn't that enthusiastic. I owned a lot of nem stakes too so why would I want to lower the price? I just didn't care and didn't expect nem (and everything else too as I owned  ETH and BTC) to go that high n 2017-2018. I had been buying crypto since 2013 and 2017-2018 was the first time I ever sold anything. I never thought about selling until I saw several million potential $. That also means I would have not sold anything if the prices hadn't gone that high.

well, I do not buy your writings Wink
But cannot blame me on that Smiley

what does that link suppose to mean? Yeah, I thought nem would continue to fall, so what?  I already admitted I wasn't that enthusiastic and didn't care.

Nice for you.  Pity that i haven't cashed out some I thought it could go higher.  Undecided
How have you done that?
Were you going trough XEM/BTC => BTC/TUSD and then to USD?

Yes, XEM to BTC and then to USD using gemini.com and I did it in Dec 2017 and January 2018 which luckily turned out to be the right time anyway. Same with Ethereum, NXT and a few other things I had.  I paid the taxes early too in March both for 2017 and 2018 -- estimate tax for 2018--  (which was like 20% capital gain tax).

I still have some BTC and XEM and ETH but I am not planning to sell anything for the next 3 to 4 years,  even if the price goes back to $1. Maybe 3 or 4 dollars, then yes, but otherwise I am good.

To all the guys who have been here from the start of nem announcement, how many cashed out more than a million $ (or several million) during 2017-2018 peak time?

I confess I did Smiley Despite all the bashing I did at nem and nem developers back in 2014-15, thank you guys.  People forget that I owned nem stakes even when I was trolling a lot here.

Ethereum was good too.

I still own a lot of nem.

Hey folks...   does anyone recall the awesome price predictions of Eadeqa???    ROFLMAO!   Grin

Edit:  How about those of that other genius-TROLL dandruff1138?   Cry

So what? The speculations turned out to be wrong. There was also some luck involved with DAO theft that helped. The future is still uncertain.

I still have far more Nem stakes, so Nem going up isn't bad for me. You do understand that part, do you?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 02, 2016, 04:29:27 PM

I'm on the fence here trying not to lose respect for the NEM community...   how in the HELL hasn't anyone trolled the shit out of Eadeqa yet?!?!?     ROFLMAO!   Grin

Or did I miss it?   Undecided

Remember, I most likely have far Nem more stakes than you  ...

Still doesn't change a thing about what I said about developers confiscating unclaimed stakes.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: December 10, 2015, 03:08:31 AM
First you said "...but independent Blockchains will die..." (maybe true and makes sense), than you said: "... ask yourself why someone would transact with NEM over Bitcoin, ETH, Nxt, etc...." (means eth, nxt, ETC !? is better than NEM? Thatīs  nonsense, because i ask myself why eth, nxt and etc are better than nem? Especially in this stage of development).  Or do I understand something wrong?

yes. he tries to tell us that we need to attach blockchain nem to blockchain btc. but we have much more the best blockchain than at btc therefore i wouldn't begin to attach on a place of devs blockchain nem to blockchain btc even if it is possible. i think that it's possible, but we it don't need to pull on ourselves a network which in future will die and us for itself will pull in a grave.

I'm not telling NEM to do anything, you can critique my posts all you want as a distraction from reality. I'm making reference to short term price/value over alternative crypto's (as a business would do in the current crypto landscape) and long term viability as it relates to relationship with Bitcoin. I'm just stating my opinion and what many probably feel in their gut. If you didn't own NEM, you wouldn't say it was destined for success.  I wish the team all the success, but I can see the writing on the wall.

I think NEM is making good progress!
Dont know what it is with the trolls!

LOL. Both the price and volume have been miserable. The project was launched like 2 years ago. Plus vast majority of coins are still in control by developers or reserved as future funds I fully expect prices will drop below 10 sat in 2016 as more coins are released

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 23, 2015, 08:56:58 PM

For first Bitcoin miners it took 4 years,to get paid for their work Wink

There was no competition to bitcoin and once it was picked up by media it rocketed up. It's not the situation anymore with a bazillion cryptos begging for attention. It's likely most of these coins and developers will never get paid.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: November 23, 2015, 08:48:56 PM
I am new to this coin and I have a big confusion in my head. What is NXT and what is HZ.

Nxt is first, original. HZ is a clone, like many other Nxt clones

I dont need to tell you where NEM will be in 5 years, its quite obvious!

If you think it's obvious where nem will be in 5 years, that says a lot about your credibility. You aren't honest, probably not even to yourself.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 18, 2015, 09:05:39 PM
Hopefully readers of this thread will understand more and benefit from Jabo's very detailed reply to the recent critics. I hope new readers will join us, we are here for the long haul....... Smiley Smiley

What is long haul? 50 years? The IPO was like in January 2014? In less than two months it would be 2 years. Where would nem be in next 2 years? Want to make a prediction or you going to just sit around for 50 years and chant long haul?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 18, 2015, 01:52:11 PM
If nem was such a "fuel" for world economy, people would write apps for it without getting paid by nem developers. They would make profit by either selling that app or other means (adds) like most other app developers do. Many people writing software/apps for bitcoin (and now ethereum) don't get paid by bitcoin foundation or ethereum developers. They see a future in it and are speculators who think it's the right investment in time/money.

Like all said months ago, close to 50% of nem weren't even distributed, so market cap was totally fake,  and the prices could only go down (not up) as these coins are dumped in months and years.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 18, 2015, 05:30:33 AM
ETH raised over 15 million, so it is somewhat expected to be hyped about.
Their command line interface is somewhat underwhelming, & they don't even have an official wallet yet, and state
you're download it at your own risk  Shocked
https://www.ethereum.org/ether

And despite that they have very high volume. Imagine when they have official client and non-beta release. They probably will overtake BTC. Nem can only go down from here, not up.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 18, 2015, 05:24:06 AM
now maybe i'm behind in all the goings on here, but is there a decision and breakdown of said decision on what the remaining coins are earmarked for?

i did see something on the nem forum, but yeah seemed unrealistic figures for such small time things as android wallets etc, so i guessed it wasn't a set in stone breakdown? ie why be in such a hurry to get rid of coins on projects and thus massively devalue xem?

This is the blog you are looking for to get you up to date. http://blog.nem.io/update-sustainability-fund-final-redemption-numbers/

We spent a lot of time trying to be very careful and transparent as possible as we planned this. There are links for the accounts that go to the block explorer.  The main account that has been spent from is the mobile/NCC fund of which more than half is left, and we have almost finished paying for the apps so the good news is our budget worked out fine and will be able to continue to support development after the apps are released.

On that note. A new iOS version was released today. Testing is going well.  It is now more about working out the last bugs and getting the final tweaks in at this point. It's been a long 9 months. Much longer than we first thought.

yes i've seen the breakdown, very surprising, the amounts given for each venture  Shocked  in my thinking significantly devalues the currency (not that giving it away, and much of that being gamed already didn't).

and why the hurry? like a global supply of currency should at minimum be kept funding the projects for a decade +.....if the goal is a usable global currency, and i would have thought the reason why there is so many billions of XEM is for that purpose?

i mean 329,599,242.98 XEM simply for a mobile app  Huh

also is the funds in each category going into the various developers pockets? so therefore simply to be dumped on the market in order to receive remuneration?

Jesus that greatly devalues xem. Not to mention yes it will be dumped and absolutely destroy the price.

Didn't I say this will happen when  developers confiscated all the unclaimed funds instead of destroying them? It's just the beginning. Watch prices drop down further to under 10 sat  in the next 12 months.

xem- fuel of world economy

LOL .. the word "fuel" is stolen from ethereum. Plus funny usage of "world economy" when you have no market share and no buyers

We shouldn't focus so much on the price. We need to focus on doing what is the best thing.

Then why were you posting here that nem will have 300 million market cap at launch just a week before the launch?

He did it so NEM trolls wont die from starving.

In other words, no one should believe whatever he is posting about future of nem. He has either no clue, or he is being super optimistic, or he is trolling, according to you.

Crypti raised around $100,000 - $200,000.  Crypti to this day is a closed source project and was plagiarizing content and ideas for their ICO from the "free-er" 2.0 projects, including NXT, NEM and NODE.

The problem with crypti was that software didn't work at the launch date. That killed it. Their distribution plan was better.
