21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.43 - Please Update Your Nodes on: August 26, 2015, 02:55:58 AM
In 2014 there was 3000 stakeholders.

Most were sockpuppets. UP was the one who came up with the communist sounding idea "equal shares for all" but that was a terrible idea for distribution. It encouraged sock puppets. Ethereum didn't have to deal with sockpuppet problem at all. More money you invested, more coins you got. No need to create fake accounts to get more stakes.  Pretty simple, fair and effective

were those community funds released?  is that the reason for the price plummeting?

Didn't I predict the prices will go down as more coins are sold by the original stakeholders, not up. The marketcap is totally artificial. You have to look at interest (daily volume) which is very low.  And this is not short term issue. It will take years before you get complete liquidity.  The prices are going to go down for the next  5 to 10 years.   What happens after that depends if there is even any interest left after that many years (I doubt it). I mean it's not impossible to drop all the way down to zero someday.

The recent (august 2015) news is that nem admins/developers have gone extremely desperate in nem thread, and they have now started deleting even factual posts if it's critical of nem. Here is example of deleted post

Then, can we say NEM is 3.33 times(370/111) efficient than Etherium, at least until now?  Wink

Nem  market cap is fake. 50% of coins are not even released yet. The value will go down as more of these coins are released.

Look at the daily volume. That  tells you the real difference between both, and nem is not even close. 2 BTC daily volume vs 5000.

You might want to check coinmarket about your "facts". NEM thread allows lots of whining and moaning which you do regularly each week, but using wrong numbers to FUD will get anybody deleted.
Well 45-50% of coins haven't been released yet right? On http://coincap.io/#/ ETH is 5 and NEM is 37. Right now on Polo ETH 24 hr volume 1887 btc and NEM 5 btc.

THat's fucking nonsense excuse  by the developers to delete post. So they deleted post because it's 46% instead of 50%. What a fucking nonsensical excuse. It's actually more than 50% given each developer is sitting on 50 stakes each.

As for volume, it was 2 BTC vs 5000 that day. Ethereum has close to 6000 btc daily volume today vs around 10 btc for nem

Nem developers are getting desperate

The price is all time low (40 sat) and falling every month

It seems ETH is stealing all the thunder now ...

Was there ever thunder? I can't remember. It's always been downhill, and I will put my money it will get worse with time, months and years, not better.

Time will tell.........that's true.....!!!!! ......

Yeah, time will tell, but common sense should be enough. The current market cap is completely fake. (socks puppets, unreleased coins, 50 stakes per developers, development funds, etc all waiting for future dump). There are no buyers for anyone to even dump anything right now.

Lets wait and see how long these core developers even remain motivated to stay with the project. This shit gets boring, especially as months and years pass but there is no interest.

So why are you wasting your time here then ?

I am not wasting my time. I am having fun watching. The internet is entertainment to me.

So you spend your life 'Trolling' for enjoyment ? ........oh dear ....what a sad individual you are !!!!!

It may seem trolling to someone delusional like you, but nothing that I said was actually trolling

SOmeone dumping?

Given the low volume, won't be easy to dump.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - New Update 0.6.43 - Please Update Your Nodes on: August 12, 2015, 05:23:41 AM
Storing your files on 3rd party servers makes them vulnerable to hackers or the NSA. I do not use centralized cloud services like Dropbox,
Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud.

Even if your tin-foil-hat like  concerns were real (as if NSA cares about your files), you can encrypt the data before storing them on 3rd party services like Dropbox. There are tools that make that easy and simple process.

I have no concerns about my truecrypt container synced with dropbox.  Even if NSA has access to it, the probability they will be able to decrypt is close to zero.

Etherium
Is best
Xem
Is worst
If you think Ethereum is best, why don't you know how to spell it? Btw worst means sausage over here in the Netherlands and that's something I like very much.
(reminder for myself: what am I doing answering an obvious troll...)

Well, at least Makoto will now stop claiming nem is highest rated coin of 2015, despite very low volume and clearly no interest.

NEM will do good as long as it learns from the mistakes of other coins.

So far since the launch nem has been consistently falling, both in overall ranking (which is fake anyway as most coins are not even released yet)  and also volume. I will put my money that this trend will continue and next step would be this: 24 hour volume under $100. That's coming in next few months.

NEM is the best performing release of 2015  Cheesy

What other coins were released in 2015? This is like saying nem is best performing coins in a race of 1.

The real question is wether nem can maintain it's current ranking, around mid 30s.That is totally unclear.  Qora was rated higher than this 3 months after launch.

NEM's initial investment was extremely small.
(about 63 BTC = about 50,000 USD in early 2014)
You can compare it with other coins's large amount of initial fund right here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1045967.0
NEM's present market cap(1.35 million USD today) is large considering for it's tiny initial fund.

This market cap is totally fake. More than 50% of coins are not even distributed but they are counted in the marketcapp. This will be if someone was calculating bitcoin market cap by including all 100 years of future coins that are not even mined yet.  Plus also 6 developers are sitting on  50 stakes each that aren't in market.  Only tiny amount of nem is in market, and even then there is no interest. Even this low volume is just the original stakeholders playing on exchanges.   The real market cap is less than $100,000. I won't be surprised if the real value is less than 50K which was the initial investment in early 2014.

As I predicted months ago that this will happen. 24 hour volume was less than 1 BTC

Wow, 1000 pages. I never thought we'd make it here so fast!

I'd like to take this occasion to make two really special announcements.

The first is related to me personally. I have thought a lot about my life over the past year and with NEM we only have one shot at success. Therefore, I am quitting my job to work full time on NEM and building the NEM ecosystem.

Supporting me in this is my second announcement: we were able to get venture funding for building a project on top of NEM that has the potential to change the lives of billions of people. I will not to go into details yet (we are the master of the ninja launch), but I think it shows the potential for our platform, especially since we have mainstream interest in our project.

It's going to be both exciting and scary over the next several months, but let's work together to change the world for the better. We only have one shot at this.

Hope this works out Makoto!

All the best!

Lets not forget that makoto1337 also claimed that Nem marketcapp would be like 300 million at launch or something like that. He seems to be pretty good at exaggerating future.

Things are progressing much better than I could have anticipated, as will become apparent in the coming weeks (a lot of stuff isn't yet ready to be disclosed, so watch out for the NEM ninjas).

You missed what I said. Development and adding features does not guarantee success. Qora added AT, that should have been biggest news, but it generated zero interest.

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread -100% Original Codebase - Over 70 Active Team Members on: July 10, 2015, 05:20:28 AM
Clearly NEM has a lot going on.

Seems fudsters are here to try and make NEM look bad but the team is doing well showing otherwise.

Great Job so far everyone.

Even if there is great development that doesn't guarantee success. Qora recently added AT (automated transaction) before ethereum is even released. Didn't do shit for Qora. There is no evidence development guarantees success.

Nothing guarantees success, but no development guarantees failure.  Smiley

Don't be that sure. What great development have bitcoin and dogecoin done in last 2 years? They both are higher than Qora

why is coin price so low if nothing is wrong with the coin?

There's nothing wrong with the coin. NEM is the best performing release of 2015 so far. Most of the top coins are all older, so we are fighting against the old order.

Don't forget a lot of new coins released were this high or even higher first 6 months. See for example Qora. They faded away slowly later. Nem is still new. Things will get worse with time, if we go by what happened to Qora, NFD, NAS, Crypti etc
