Sounds like someone wrapped claymore and/or optiminer to remove the fee.. There a a couple of ways one could accomplish it.. That would explain the lack of details
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gauging interest in a 4U GPU mining case on: November 29, 2016, 10:28:34 AM
Gray Matter has shown there is a healthy viable market for GPU chassis like this. Not sure why the haters are the first to drop in on your thread. Good luck with the project.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire rx 480 Nitro+ vs Xfx 480 OC power consumption on: November 29, 2016, 10:25:52 AM
Sapphires have a voltage bump in their roms so they will consume more power out of the box.
65  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bitworks 8 GPU 4U rack mount mining rig - 230Mh/s ETH on: November 26, 2016, 09:23:14 PM
Can you sell the case itself?

I missed this question earlier in the thread, it comes up a lot, however not currently interested in selling just the case.

Hi, You say you made this case?

it looks oddly familiar.  How long did it take to paint?  or are you simply reselling them?

thanks!

Fitting 8 GPU using commodity components in a 4U chassis, of course there are similarities but if you want to get down to it there is a long list of differences.. I am quite aware of Gray Matter,
and they are quite aware of me as well, no ill will on either side, but thanks for asking..
ok , yea they have an 8 card model as well, just making sure that you note that.

what are your differences if i might ask?

thanks!

Not looking to get into a pissing match over how close or different they are, obviously dumping the same components on the table, and fitting them in a 4U case in the least cost model results in a similar layout, no way around that. This case has a different face plate (laser cut aluminum) to negate the use of fan grills with integrated rack ears, from the pictures different orientation of GPUs, one vs. two PSUs, different overall dimensions, this one is made specific to my hardware configuration and doesn't handle reference GPUs and other longer ones, no bottom plates used.

With respect to the request for pictures, I'm asking a couple of the hosts that handle a bunch to make posts so it's not all coming from me.
67  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bitworks 8 GPU 4U rack mount mining rig - 230Mh/s ETH on: November 23, 2016, 09:22:57 PM
I have the same motherboard, MSI Z97 Gaming 5.

Mind if I ask how you got 8 GPUs to work on a 7 PCI slot motherboard?

Thanks!

I would think with something like this from the original manufacturer:

http://www.miningrigs.net/?product=pci-e-port-multiplier

thanks!

I've tried that multiplier, doesn't work. I plugged 6 GPUs and 1 multiplier.
The multiplier wouldn't recognize more that 1 GPU.

If I plug in 5 GPUs, the multiplier will recognize 2 GPUs.

No matter what I tried, total GPUs is still 7.

Maybe the OP has some special software.

thanks!

Or he is just using an M2 to pcie adapter.

maybe? lol
maybe the OP can state , instead of speculation?

Thanks!

Away with family for Thanksgiving so I am not watching the forums as close as usual.. It's a combination of hardware, firmware, and software mods to make it all work... Took quite a bit of time to figure it all out and code up what was needed, that is part of the value proposition for the systems.

69  Economy / Computer hardware / Bitworks 8 GPU 4U rack mount mining rig - 235Mh/s ETH on: November 23, 2016, 01:43:49 AM
Updated with current specs, always pushing the limits like most of us... I've been manufacturing an 8 GPU rig for a few months now, as a follow-on to 4 and 6 GPU open frame rigs I've been making for a few years... Initially this unit used Radeon 380s and now Radeon 470/480s. Some may have seen it listed on ebay, I sell some there but it's primarily for the exposure, most units are sold direct to large farm operators who are running 50+ units at a time.

I do sell to individual miners as well and have been doing that for some time, posting this to share some details on the system and make it available via the forums.

The units run a fully custom Linux load, or a customized version of ethOS depending on the end users coin, they can mine most anything as with any GPU rig, given how many GPUs are in the system I sometimes need to customize the miner or it's launcher so it runs properly. Web based configuration provided, no need to SSH into the system to change wallet/pool, or other common settings. Most miners are shipped pre-configured at the request of the customer so they are plug and play.

Prices start at $3600 USD + shipping for single systems and go down under $3,000 as the quantity goes up. Payment via cashiers check, wire transfer, BTC, ETH, Credit Card via Paypal (verified billing/shipping address) all supported.

Systems are manufactured and shipped from the east coast of the US, worldwide shipping available. Turn around time before shipping averages 5 business days, however, a number of large orders have been recently placed so please reach out to confirm lead time.

ETH: 235Mh/s ~1160W, ~1260W when dual mining
ZEC: 2100H/s ~1160W
XMR: 6400H/s ~950W

These shots are from my 380 unit, 470 unit almost identical minus change in cards, use of EVGA G2 1300, and some strengthening of the chassis in my latest model revision to better handle shipping...

70  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Beaglebone Black (Jupiter Controller) KNC Titan Firmware & Build Instructions on: November 23, 2016, 12:58:52 AM
any custom firmware for titans???

I added support for custom overclocks if a Titan is plugged in, Neptune and Jupiter pickup the padrino firmware overclocks as well.. The big win here is support for running the Titans with a Beaglebone, no RPi and no bridge board required.

Bumping it up, adjusting prices

This is a NIGHTMARE!  Angry

Do you have the same problem as me?

Correction - H81, not G81 Wink

same here... it is really a nightmare when I need to debug something..

thanks AriesIV10 for the instructions.

All motherboards have that problem, find one that doesn't and I'll be seriously impressed.. To start the motherboard itself does not order them how they are physically laid down (e.g., all 16X slots take precedence, then it's a crap shoot on 1X slots based on dedicated or shared lanes), then you have the AMD driver on top of it.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 14, 2016, 05:27:23 PM
Actually 10btc sounds like about what it would cost me in time to hack together the code load on a BBB to a point where anyone could use it. Fair deal.

Probably too late in the game for that price now imho with Zcash mining taking LTC thunder and the A4's coming out 2nd batch Dec 15th

but hey I'd get what the hell I could for it soonest...maybe 10 BTC is fair...no clue..I don't code.

Most Titans are getting buy 6 to a controller if they need to...but they seem to run better 3 or 4 to a controller

Good points all around, will see what happens..

The biggest value is the lack of a bridge board, just take a controller and Beaglebone and you are good to go, I am tossing in all of the controllers I have (I think 8 but need to run another count) plus a Titan cube I held onto so whoever picks it up has a stack to move out with.. I did enough looking at GenTarkin's code to know they can be integrated fairly easily, I missed my window between projects to get it all done so it's here for someone else that may want to press independently, or tag back up with GenTarkin to put them together.

I'm considering your offer, though 10 BTC is a little high (after conversion rates in my shizzy country). When I can afford it, i'd totally take you up on that if you don't have a buyer yet. I think there's only a small handful of Titan owners that can even make use of it. Maybe an auction would be more relevant?

I thought about an auction but figured this would be better, especially if a few people want to team up and grab it..

Yeah, I think it's totally worth it to put up a serious open source competition against Sir. Claymore  Wink
We shall be back.
I'll try get Claymore's v5/optiminer speed in 2-3 days.

p.s. he have a more motivation because his model (miner with fee) works perfectly - opposite to my (opensource miner and own pool), miners don't want support coinsforall.io Sad

I had a rough time with your pool so I gave it up some time ago, but have no problem letting the miner mine for a dev fee, perhaps you can sync up with mrb and figure something out..

Kicking out a link to my post in the goods forum, I sat on the firmware for a few months now thinking I would bundle it and sell it in partnership with GenTarkin, just don't have the time so I put it up for sale since it hasn't been distributed anywhere yet..

This is the only miner rig on the main ISP router, the rest of the rigs are on a different router.

Looks like someone is trying to HACK  IN

That is a stratum command.. Not sure what you are thinking keeping a management port of any kind open to the internet, it doesn't take more than a few hours for a scan to come across with someone looking for miner related ports..
78  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Beaglebone Black (Jupiter Controller) KNC Titan Firmware & Build Instructions on: November 13, 2016, 04:54:43 PM
how mucho for the firmware? can try it out if it works and give feedback.

The primary value of the offering is the firmware, selling the firmware, source, all of it, hence the price, not looking to sell it over and over to various buyers, whoever buys it could choose to do that.

That almost implies they are throttling due to temps, has anything changed with respect to the environment? Can you see what the clocks look like remotely after they start slowing down?

Looks really good. what motherboard you're using for 8-GPUs?

It's customized for the setup as a completely off the shelf one won't do the job
