awesome informative site you have, btw. i refer to it regularly, and im sure others do as well. you need to start capitalizing on ad revenue or something!

are you the site owner? can you add Ripple? It got an extremely high market cap, top 5 I believe

As an investor, I'm going to be involved in both of them. Competition is good. I do really look forward to testing eMunie... fingers crossed I'll get into the beta. *wink wink Fuserleer* yes i want to invest as well.. I was a few days late to get into the nxt genesis block pre-sell. Id like to get into the emunie one but it seems fairly expensive at $0.1 USD per eMunie

ok let me back up a bit.... am i doing something wrong here? I use java -cp -Nxt.zip Nxt from the directory the Nxt.zip file is in and it says 2.11 running, then craps out at 133 blocks. I uninstalled java, reinstalled new JRE version, erased all java temp files, erased all NXT files, downloaded the new 2.11 zip and cranked up, same thing. reboots dont bhelp. No errors on DOS window. Anyone help?
Thx for the report. I'll send it to BCNext next morning. And I guess you arent mining unless you open the localhost web page and unlock, right?
Right. ok thanks we'll see what they say i guess. Im intently checking all nxt-related stuff.. with its new features im betting itll go big and want to buy more but freaking coinbase is taking FOREVER to verify my deposit. If it matters, all my known peers are moving to 0 and into blacklisted

0.2.11 version is available. It fixes issue with transactions (that don't appear in unconfirmed list), so it's not necessary to download it if u don't wish. ok let me back up a bit.... am i doing something wrong here? Multiple hashing algorithms in 1 coin for starters.
I mean explain it in an economics sense the issues you see as they currently exist (current and future) and what/how quark addresses them
|
|
|
its going to a dollar parity Xan
its 1 cent now.
.
What is your basis for this prediction Significantly inferior coins to Quark are way past dollar parity. what is so great about the quark? I read in the ANN thread about the hashing, and the coin generation and 1% inflation, but what makes it *significantly* superior? I mean explain it in an economics sense the issues you see as they currently exist (current and future) and what/how quark addresses them

I don't know anything about eMunie, but Nxt is a pretty sweet system. It's great being able to do proof of stake mining from my macbook.
How exactly do you mine NXT? I have the wallet but don't see how you mine with it. well its 100% proof of stake. you only mine when you have coins and the system determines a demand for new coins based on demand. the concept is that X number of coins were premined and distributed via the genesis. now its up to those people who got them to distribute them out further. the system creates new coins by demand from its builtin exchange (which im not sure if that feature is ready yet) and the new coins are dirstibuted out to the existing holders for sale into the exchange. at least thats the way I understand. its still brand new, released last week. These are 2 new coins, both consider themselves 2nd gen, not based on original BTC code, both claiming next generation features... NMC is just released, eMunie is in beta.....
my bet is the 2 devs knew each other and had some falling out, etc.
regardless, some very exciting changes coming on to the scene, i believe
Lol I can assure you that I don't know the dev of Nxt at all. That said, if I did, I would most certainly have fell out with regard to his "QA" practices, so you are semi correct on one point! I'm going to be a bit brash here, but simply put, NxT (and most other "next gen" cryptos) simply wont be able to compete with the technical quality of eMunie, save for perhaps Invictus Innovations BitShare/KeyHotee and MercSuey's latest paper, nothing comes close. cool man, just wondering, they seem very similar in all those aspects I put out, plus 1 i forgot which was java client for 1st binary, was just making a guess. Im going in on both FWIW, keep it up, looking forward to newer and better crypto currencies

This is a good idea. Please dont ever go the gambling route as a large scale method though

lolz before you posted this I uninstalled my JRE and installed the latest JRE and that got me past 133 up to 250 and hung again. now with 2.10 stuck back at 133. but this time i have no errors on my DOS window.

Well, guys. Here are some Best practices:
1. Do NOT use very old versions. "0.2.3" can include expired transactions into blocks, which will never be accepted by "0.2.9" leading to independent forks. 2. Do NOT set very short deadline. If a blockchain reorganization happens expired transactions won't be included into blocks. 3. Do NOT send the same transactions twice. The network is fragmented and ur node can lose a message with ur transaction (it's processed only if sent back), but it still can be visible by other nodes. Resend the transaction only if it's not confirmed and expired.
And don't forget what CONFIRMATION are for. 10 confirmations ~ 1 Bitcoin confirmation. Blockchain reorg can happen up to 720 blocks back. If u receive big amounts it's better to check the coins are on ur balance after 720 confirmations.
can we get an oldversion repository for those who cant get 0.2.9 to work? Im on 0.2.3 still. every time i try 029 it stops on block 133. deleted all temp java files, all .nxt files, same thing happens
