is anyone who currently has a VPS willing to have it host a basic webpage for NXT for purposes of the press release? 2kool4kool is currently writing a basic one and I have got nxtcrypto.org to resolve it for us.

OK Donor development section is ready for business https://nextcoin.org/index.php/board,40.0.htmlThis board is intended for Donors with over 1M who intend to give bounties and develop projects, but everyone has access to read. Use your auth token in your signature if you post in this forum (heavily moderated)

hey do you guys have a solid/stable block explorer? you're on cryptsy right? why arent you on coinmarketcap?
|
|
|
when is Nxt going to be on exchanges like cryptsy or bter or stuff like that? or is there anybody working on the issue? cos i have heard that dgex is barely functional and also, being in those bigger exchanges will clearly boost Nxt popularity.
AFAIK BTC-e.com is waiting for the source code released. Dunno about the others. We do not plan to add Nxt dont plan, as in *ever*? or just waiting on source release / official launch?
|

... I also really like eMu (heavily invested)... how did you manage that?

That's exactly why nextcoin.org website needs to have an official public node or two running for everyone who doesn't want/can't install their own software.
with the simple instructions:
1. Open the URL (has to be https:// :7875 only access). 2. Make up a really good pass phrase (over 30 characters). 3. Unlock/create your account with that pass phrase. 4. Put down or remember well the pass phrase and put down your account number. 5. Profit.
CfB, don't worry about this centralizing everything, there'll be enough people running their own nodes, there are already quite many, many more will come in the future.
FTR, I m against this idea, even with SSL, the data DOES get decrypted at some point on the server, and its possible for passphrases to be compromised that way

I have an idea.
We could split development among different people to speed things greatly. ... R there any bounties for developers and tech support? ...
- Nxt stakeholders really need to organize themselves. opticalcarrier, could you make public moderated topiс at nextcoin.org dedicated to stakeholders discussions? Only stakeholders (>1M) should post to that topiс, all other posts should be deleted by moderator (if nobody wish to be a moderator, I can be) because of trolls. All the stakeholders willing to participate at that topic need to put their stockholder's tokens into their forum signature. That token will prove their stakes. It is very easy to make the stakeholder's token: 1. Open your Nxt account; 2. Press small lilac key near your account numbers; 3. Type your nextcoin's forum name into "Website" field and press the button "Generate..". That's all. sure, Ill start working on this. Ill see if its best to create a whole new section or not, and make you a moderator. When complete, you can create an initial thread for people to post tokens for authentication, and the carry out business. Thanks for voluteering to run this - verifying lots of tokens wont be very fun

I think you should stop spamming these fucking useless threads
QFT Quark is like IFC with a diff algo.. you guys have saturated the market.. do understand the basics of supply and demand ? most of you were not even around when this coin was released and know squat about it anyway.. you all show up late to the game, buy some and start spamming all over, Quark is the greatest thing since sliced bread. When in reality SRC / Securecoin is a revised version of Quark and is superior in every way.. choke that down fanboys lol MODS: Please put an IQ test and / or age limit on the forum.. the tardlets are out in full force. can u let us noobs know all those differences are that makes securecoin so much better?

what does it even mean when the target % is less than 100? I saw it explained earlier that, for example if the target was 400% then that meant that 100/400 of all NXT were actively forging. If the % is less than 100%, say, at 50%, wouldnt that indicate something impossible such as 100/50 NXT mining?
might have been a translation thing...
|
|
|
yes id be interested to know as well. I thought our target was a block every minute. most blocks are empty. but its not like we get regular empty blocks. why even have them at all?

Very good idea. I have already pledged my donations. Currently, we have various bounties managed by different people for different purposes. That's good and should carry on. CfB's bounty idea is dev & tech support, which I think is the most important, and should be the biggest. I suggest we set up something to show that there's serious money being committed. 1. A fund dedicated to dev & tech support only. Say we call it the Tech Account (TA) 2. Provide 3 ways for contributions - Donors send Nxt to the TA with their forum ID for identification
- Anonymous donors send Nxt to the TA.
- Donors pledge Nxt, but don't send in any Nxt yet. Promise to send in funds when the need arises
3. Elect a trusted member to hold the funds, until such time when multisig is available 4. Create a dedicated accounting sheet in this file or a dedicated file be set up to keep track of donations, pledges and payouts. For obvious reasons, this sheet/file will be public viewable but not editable. I volunteer to do the accounting (4), subject to community consensus. feel free to use the Project section @ nextcoin.org forums for organizing https://nextcoin.org/index.php/board,6.0.html

Is it possible to buy bitcoins via ripple directly from your bank, instead of going through localbitcoins (dangerous) or coinbase (takes too long)
I mean, how quick is it to set up a ripple account, and fund it from your bank, then buy BTC from somewhere? Where would you buy it from?

Hypothetical scenario:
My client is forging, it says I have like 3 minutes before I can generate the next block. My client crashes, or I hit CTRL-C, or my network dies, but I manage to get it back up in a few secs.
Do I lose my place in line?

You can set the memory parameters with command line on Java port 7875 7874 To mine, just put coin on the wallet and stay online.
Thanks. I know how to tune the heap sized but I'm not sure if my "-Xms256m -Xmx1024m" will be good enough. Am I need to do anything with GCs or just leave all these things alone? you were just given incorrect info. DO NOT open port 7875 on your router. the p2p port is 7874. the 2 of you guys should edit your posts to correct this

1 more thing, say I do use the hallmark, and then my IP address changes. Will I see any particular behavior on the client when I begin to use a hallmark that doesnt checksum?
(just looking for some way to be notified or to realize that my IP changed and that I need to update the hallmark)
Ur node will be blacklisted and noone will connect to u, in future versions ur node requests will be rejected. so basically whenever I see my active peers list empty out, that would mean its time to redo my hallmark?

is it on any exchanges right now?
Not yet. is there any particular exchage you believe it will hit first?
