541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code flaw reports on: January 30, 2014, 09:35:56 PM
No, he didn't provide any sensible answer in any thread.

Repost:

The analogy with throwing dice is for illustrative purposes only.

This is the problem. 100K account does have advantage over 100x 1K accounts. But this advantage is small. In ur example it's noticeable coz u use conventional dice. If u used dice with 2^64 faces u would get other results.

thanks for this explanation.  yes, the 'advantage' is extremely small

Answered in that thread.

I didnt see a response from you to his description.  You did respond to an earlier message about dice, but not the post here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364218.msg4844888#msg4844888 or the post right after that one that had a bit more detail.

Or do you refer to the russian thread?
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt source code flaw reports on: January 30, 2014, 08:19:54 PM
I've found a flaw in the unpublished part of the source code, in the Transparent Forging algorithm.

Rich people get richer faster than poor.

1 NXT coin forging power depends on the wallet size.

Details here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364218.msg4844888#msg4844888

This is not the injected flaw.

CfB, have you verified that it is a flaw?

Why dont you just start with delegating 2 people per conference instead of 5?

this is smart.  Since we have so many people lined up for Dallas, I volunteer to wait later this year and go to Las Vegas.

2 people is barely enough unless you don't feel like sleeping for those 2 days. 3 would be much better.

OK lets let rickyjames lead a team of 3 including himself, and I'll lead a team of 3 in vegas?  That sound good?  It seems we need a few more volunteers to fill 3 slots per event...

I am not a lawyer. Need a lawyer to figure out how to make it so we can prevent klones that blatantly ripoff NXT community's hard work.
For graphics, text we write, etc., it should be easy to put copyright and that automatically limits theft.

Something wrong with all these discussions about licences. This is a world of cryptoanarchy.

yes, and then when anonymous user BCNext2 violates our license, what exactly are we going to do about it?  Who 'owns' the source code you are trying to copyright??? because that is the only entity able to bring a tort forwards, and that is centralization.

  doesnt make much sense.

Alone again? do you have time?

we have three people willing to help.

I'm thinking of using mixing algo from Qubic. These people can't help with that, thank u anyway.

Please do, you would save us a huge headache and efforts, I say we pony up 3Mil Nxt total to compensate you for the work, would that be amenable?

this is a good idea, except is 3million excessive?  some guy was proposing 1Mil, Id be more than comfortable just doubling that for CfB's services when BCNext is done with him

so to get total amt of an asset you own, you'll have to manually add your qty from getAccount and any outstanding ask orders
The new APIs getAskOrderIds and getBidOrderIds seem to require timestamp, but getAsset doesnt support it.  This means that to get current actual QTY + QTY of outstanding ask orders, that multiple API requests must be sent.  If getAccount doesnt also support timestamp then in a high volume environment this WILL lead to errors.  I dont see any other option but to either extend the getAsset to separately sum up all outstanding orders and return all the info with 1 API call, or to add in timestamp to getAccount so that it is possible to do it manually

@ Asset Exchange client devs:

How to get assets owned by an account:
http://holms.cloudapp.net:6874/nxt?requestType=getAccount&account=7090973412966

getAskOrderIds/getBidOrderIds now require asset. Order ids r returned in ascending order according to their matching queue position, this can be used to easily build market depth.

very good, and already running on testnet. thx cfb.

very slick, it did an auto match of bid and ask in my first attempt.  Also, it appears that when an acct that owns X qty of an asset places an ask order to sell Y qty of said assets, that Y qty automatically gets deducted from the sellers account, even if there are not yet any matches.

so to get total amt of an asset you own, you'll have to manually add your qty from getAccount and any outstanding ask orders

very very nice this is exciting stuff we have coming along... dare I ask when this will be out of holms testnet?

ok ill bite, can someone explain just what exactly all this "turing-complete" compatible IS and how it works?  Explain it to the level of someone with a BS in IT and who has worked professionally in IT for 20 years as a network tech

In tears laughing my ass off at emule, I have a 300k sell order racked at .00001, buying a new nissan 370z  Cool. Keep on selling, the lucky guy that bought your 1 million will buy an island one day because of your stupidity.

ok im lost here...  not that Im all aware on trading in the first place though..  but if you have a sell order for 300K NXT set for .00001 isnt that bad for you for the price to fall?

Why was it removed from coinmarketcap? Let me guess.. people complained it was a scam coin because of distribution (which continues to haunt this coin..)

it wasnt removed, its fallen to the very bottom, probably b/c for some reason, BTER's data for NXT must be unavailable.

busy professors don't usually respond to emails from people they don't know
they have published integration instructions
it is open source
LACK of action is not an action opposing, it is just a lack of action.

sounds reasonable.  Maybe this is the right path then; and possibly, if we get started on it FIRST, and show the profs that we are serious, that they may even be willing to help then.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 09:11:38 PM
Not a theft, they want us to port, they describe exactly how to do it.

They wanted bitcoin to adopt their libzerocoin
They wanted altcoins to adopt their solution
Nobody did, so they were forced to start developing their own coin
They are professors, not really into making new coins
...

they why did they REPEATEDLY ignore all of Klee's requests for information on implementing it in NXT?
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 04:27:56 PM
You can kick this pig, is going nowhere. One of your big stakeholders in all respect of NXT dumped 1M coins on Bter just to let you all see I can.
I hope you all not surprised this pig is not moving.
...
and where is that f*** client!
