321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keiser Report: Let's Encrypt the Internet! (E548 ft. Kim Dotcom) on: January 13, 2014, 02:57:46 AM
It's a pity we can't easily boycott these coins as someway invalid  Smiley
322  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-01-12] Video - Andreas M. Antonopoulos - L.A. Bitcoin Meetup on: January 13, 2014, 02:53:53 AM
Great speech, we need people like this at the forefront of BTC to educate more people - they offer a good future for bitcoin!
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question About Early Adapters Who Hold Coins on: January 13, 2014, 02:50:56 AM
I'd say what people do varies drastically from person to person. Some buy and hold, some buy and trade, some buy and spend - it really does vary quite a lot.
324  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help a guy who lost his job on: January 13, 2014, 02:42:43 AM
Really glad the mods removed his address.

Begging on a forum is very low!
325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello All! on: January 13, 2014, 02:39:22 AM
It depends, weigh up the costs for electricity for using the CPU to mine. If this is less than you will generate go for it, if it is more don't. Personally I wouldn't mine with a CPU as the rewards are very negligible.
326  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Banks and Debit Cards on: January 13, 2014, 02:36:12 AM
Will we have bitcoin banks and debit cards in future? Is anyone looking to develop this?

Walk into the shops and buy something off a bitcoin debit card...?

It's to be hoped that the answer to your question is a resounding 'no', Bitcoin is here to do away with the banks!
327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where Can I Buy Bitcoin Related Ad Space? on: January 13, 2014, 02:34:37 AM
Could you guys please tell me how can I advertise on Bitcointalk as well?

Just get in touch with the mods, I'm sure they'll be able to assist you.

328  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what happens to the bitcoins in lost wallets on: January 12, 2014, 01:56:57 PM
If you lose your wallet - the BTC are gone forever meaning less BTC in existence making the remaining BTC more rare and valuable  Smiley
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own any altcoins? Why? what for? on: January 12, 2014, 01:46:55 PM
I dabble in ANC, PPC, LTC and NMC - buying and selling for more BTC. I chose these coins as I wouldn't mind holding on to them for a long time should their value to BTC drop substantially.  Smiley
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: January 12, 2014, 01:42:15 PM
Hi all!

Been a little afk from internet the past week, but back now!

Many has wondered and asked about whats Anoncoin going to do when v2 of zerocoin is released, if it's gonna affect it's development, etc etc etc. And it's not time effective to answer one at a time Smiley

I will write a blog entry about it, where I will answer where, what, when, why and hopefully the rest of w's :p

We're about to release a new site as well. I'll get back to you in short time! Also, I think Matthew is going to give a talk on Monday at New York City College, so I think I post the blog entry after that, in case he says anything that could become a question.

Any closer to the blog entry? Really keen to see what's going on regarding ANC and Zerocoin. Waiting for this announcement before making the next move  Smiley
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deutsche eMark falling down...why? on: January 12, 2014, 12:55:27 PM
People are dumping  Grin

On Cryptsy was very strange buy-sell movement...like somebody was selling and right next buying in very small profit...and this started all this proces, that people are scared. Could make this just like one, or very few people? What is next...is worth invest there or keep away from DEM? Im ready invest there like on 0,00010...what can be in few days in this panic selling, I think,DEM is not lost, DEM will rise soon sharply again.

I think you really need to make your own judgement when making trading decisions and not rely on advise from others.

DEM is, at the end of the day, just another alt coin that is not really needed  Wink
332  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptsy withdrawal still pending after almost 3 days. What should I do? on: January 12, 2014, 12:53:17 PM
Send in another support request if it takes any longer.

Also make sure you used the correct withdrawal address  Smiley
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deutsche eMark falling down...why? on: January 12, 2014, 12:49:48 PM
You should never put all your eggs in one basket - this is particularly true of crypto currencies.

I assume that people promoting the coin have a lot of the and want to sell for a higher price  Wink
334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which altcoins will become as popular as bitcoins? on: January 12, 2014, 12:14:30 PM
'Gridcoin' - come on, you shouldn't be promoting ridiculous unheard of coins!

It's simple stick to BTC!!! if you must dabble in alts go for LTC, PPC and ANC.

 Angry

If you read my post you will see that I used it as an example of something innovative, not promoting it. When you read a text you shouldn't think of something to write, you do that after you done reading. just a tip.. And if you haven't heard of Gridcoin you are still very new to this.

Fair enough - I would say using something as an example is the same as promoting it - Just gets a bit tiring when we are all here for BTC and there are so many coins out there purely to make a profit for the devs which goes against what BTC is all about. I agree competition is good but there are already some good coins out there, there is no need for coins used for a specific purpose. Of course this is my opinion so will not be agreed on by all  Smiley
335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is it risky to use Paypal with an escrow service? on: January 12, 2014, 10:46:31 AM
A chargeback would have an affect. PayPal would remove the funds from the account leaving a negative balance and the escrow having a choice whether to reimburse PayPal - and becoming out of pocket. Or being in debt to PayPal for the amount. Not good for the escrow only trying to help.
336  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB Want buy 200 usd worth of BTC for Paypal on: January 12, 2014, 10:16:24 AM

and can show live paypal account via team viewer

Really? No one in their right mind would give you access to their PayPal account.
337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 20BTC FOR $300 USD DETAILS INSIDE on: January 12, 2014, 10:12:59 AM
Why doesn't the admin send a warning PM to all the new members when they sign up?
This may help some users but you have to remember just how many new users ask how long they have to wait before being able to post elsewhere other than the newbies thread. If they take no notice of that are they likely to take advice to avoid scammers?.... Or even read a warning?
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much bigger can Bitcoin get? on: January 12, 2014, 10:08:52 AM
No one knows, more adoption and widespread use will lead to a more valuable BTC (in terms of USD) but it'd be wrong to speculate by how much.
339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The future of bitcoin on: January 12, 2014, 09:16:52 AM
This really is a pathetic attempt to get coins.

Why don't you buy them, mine them or earn them like everyone else?

 Smiley
340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $5000... invest in different types of cryptocurrency or mining equipment? on: January 12, 2014, 07:15:10 AM
Personally I wouldn't get in to mining now, to much competition and the difficulty is always increasing.

I'd put a fair chunk in to BTC and a little in to some of the 'proper' alts  Smiley
