901  Other / Beginners & Help / Want to Buy LTC? on: November 29, 2013, 03:21:05 PM
Just a quick post, I'm looking to diversify and buy some LTC (about 10-20 coins).

Does anyone have any coins to sell?

Cheers

In my view it depends on how you look at things - If you're buying BTC with a view to long term gain then perhaps - But if you're simply day trading with the key to profit from prolific price shifts then I'd say the boat hasn't even arrived.....
903  Other / Beginners & Help / Wallet Security!?! on: November 29, 2013, 11:54:00 AM
I really like the idea of crypto currency - don't get me wrong, but my apparent inadequacies on anything technically related, I fear, will leave me vulnerable to unscrupulous individuals.

Forgive me - I use Multi-Bit and want to perhaps store the wallet offline. Is it then possible to transfer BTC from my offline computer to a USB stick then to my online computer, keeping my main horde (which is very small but that's beside the point) safe from theft?

Any advise on what to do that is simple yet effective?

904  Other / Beginners & Help / Which exchange is the most honest and reliable? on: November 29, 2013, 09:30:47 AM
I'm wondering if anyone has any recent positive experiences to share regarding any of the current exchanges?

I have a few bitcoins in my wallet and would love to trade some of the different currencies such as litecoin and namecoin but I would class myself as being extremely cautious and overly pessimistic. I have read so many things about BTC-e that make me inclined to go elsewhere - but where?

There seems to be no human element involved - everything is done behind closed doors.

We need an etrade for crypto currency!

905  Other / Beginners & Help / Anyone have experience getting USD out of BTC-E with PayPal on: November 28, 2013, 03:29:28 PM
Anyone have experience getting USD out of BTC-E with PayPal?

How long does it take, they mention 7% is this inclusive or exclusive of the PayPal fees?

Any help much appreciated!

Only when you can exchange BTC to USD as easily as you can from EUR to USD will bitcoin become a true alternative.

The amount of hassle it took me a few month ago to obtain even 1 BTC using my debit card was absurd and the transaction fees involved were close to 10% (PayPal USD to VirWox to SLL to BTC) it also took numerous transactions due to the tiny limits allowed.

Now how do I sell my BTC and get hard currency quickly? BTC-e will charge me 7% for PayPal and I will have PayPal fees and there is no definitive answer to how long this will take.

I may have doubled my money in virtual terms but with the fees involved and the uncertainty I questioning if it really is worth it?
907  Other / Beginners & Help / Where to sell BTC without using exchange on: November 28, 2013, 12:31:06 PM
Being relatively new to the world of bitcoin can anyone advise where I can sell my BTC without using an exchange?

I don't wish to sell now but would like to know options for the future?

The exchanges I use for trading tend to charge a huge % for withdrawals and can take ages to get.

Any ideas?
