801  Economy / Speculation / More retailers accepting Bitcoin could cause the price to drop...... on: December 23, 2013, 01:59:33 AM
The general consensus says that the more places that start accepting Bitcoin the more valuable Bitcoin will become, but if we take a look at the recent news from Overstock - all the sales they make in BTC will be converted straight away to fiat - there is going to be a need for a general rise in the use of Bitcoin to support this.

Of course, if more people start using Bitcoin then this could potentially be sustained but if this is not the case the retailers will just be dumping BTC on the market.

What Overstock should be doing is using the BTC to pay for their costs - not possible at the moment - paying salaries to those that want a portion, if not all of their pay cheque in BTC. This would be a better way to sustain and stabilise Bitcoin.
802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you honestly make bitcoins from faucets? on: December 23, 2013, 01:48:32 AM
Some faucets are legit but it would take you forever to get a reasonable amount of Bitcoin. For me I have found it is simply not worth the time to do this.
803  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it Possible in BlockChain ? on: December 22, 2013, 01:02:49 PM
I'm not aware of one but would like to know as well  Smiley if you find out post it as it would be an interesting tool.
804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investments on: December 22, 2013, 12:58:11 PM
Viewing your investment as long term is definitely the mind-set you need to be in although there are opportunities to be had buying and selling BTC and taking advantage of the volatility. Bare in mind this takes skill and finesse and is certainly not for the faint hearted.  Wink

That's a great idea! Can I have one  Sad
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DTC] Vote for Datacoin on Cryptsy #2 on: December 22, 2013, 11:53:53 AM
I think there are too many coins on Cryptsy already - there's no real need to add more!
807  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gaining crypto currency's on: December 22, 2013, 11:52:07 AM
I'll have to have a look, never been fond of watching ads for coins but this one could be different.....
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most convincing arguments against Bitcoin? on: December 22, 2013, 10:09:35 AM
The biggest argument against Bitcoin - and all crypto currencies for that matter - is that everyone thinks everyone else is out to rip them off in one way shape or form. It's sad but when you can't trust anyone, how far can it go?

To use Bitcoin trust is unnecessary. Consensus is necessary. As with trading anything, all parties involved must agree with the value of the item being exchanged. Fiat is backed by trust in the issuing authority. Even transactional trust is unnecessary if you use escrow.

I was meaning that you have to trust that the person you are buying BTC for example from will actually send it - escrow is all well and good - but you still have to trust the person acting as escrow to do what they should.
809  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Bitcoin - Silver 1 oz coin is now available on: December 22, 2013, 09:31:10 AM
Coins look awesome, I'll have to get saving my BTC for one!
810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangerous to invest in new Altcoins? on: December 22, 2013, 09:13:07 AM
I think there are a few good alts out there at the moment - Anoncoin looks very promising and I have a stash of them waiting for the price to skyrocket.....

Oh really , and why would it skyrocket?
Any solid arguments?

Sorry, the ...... after skyrocket was meant to imply that I actually have no idea  Smiley
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Fuck Cryptsy, Fuck Cryptsy, Fuck Cryptsy on: December 22, 2013, 09:09:34 AM
I have never had an issue with Cryptsy but have never dealt with Doge. BTC in, trade, BTC out and always works quickly and smoothly.

Hopefully it will pick up for all the other currencies!
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Kittycoin - BRING it ON DOGE - Launching Dec 25th on: December 22, 2013, 09:05:04 AM
Is this a joke? There is no need for ANY more coins just destroying the ones there already are!
813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anoncoin on: December 22, 2013, 09:02:40 AM
I've been quite fond of Anoncoin for a while now.

Just wondering who else here sees a good future for Anoncoin?

If I had to gamble I could see prices rising considerably but of course I don't gamble  Wink

Anyone here choose Anoncoin as Bitcoin's number 2???
814  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much PSU Watts would I need to run 6 Radeon R9 280x/290x? on: December 22, 2013, 08:51:44 AM
I'd go for 2 PSU's, it's always best to have room to spare instead of running on the edge.  Grin
815  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello Cryptocurrency on: December 22, 2013, 08:49:28 AM
Good luck with your new venture - I would advise investing directly however, too much competition mining now!
816  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too much alt-coin recently! on: December 22, 2013, 08:45:19 AM
Maybe fun to mine them but there really are too many coins in existence now, may the good ones last (BTC, LTC, ANC, NMC, PPC and a few of the others)

818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptsy, the incompetence is almost comical on: December 22, 2013, 06:48:22 AM
I've personally never had an issue with Cryptsy.

I think the issue lies when you do have an issue - getting a resolution is virtually impossible.

819  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any idea what to do with OKpay? on: December 22, 2013, 06:44:50 AM
Have you tried using Google translate to send tickets in Russian? There have been a lot of people complaining about OK pay.

I'd just keep at them and hope for the best.
820  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help needed to buy bitcoin on: December 22, 2013, 06:37:07 AM
Create an account with one of the exchanges, I'd go for Bitstamp, get verified and you can transfer money from your back to buy Bitcoin.
