What will happen when the Seahawks win the Superbowl in a blowout (right now it is 43-8)?   Huh

Doge will crash.
7922  Economy / Speculation / Re: '100 BTC ATMs land in Australia' on: February 03, 2014, 12:09:20 AM
If they go off the Gox price like some other dubious operators in Australia then they will be useless.

And they aren't going in everywhere just a couple in Sydney and Melbourne to start.

24hr volume on Gox is about 1600. Is that a new record?

They are all imaginary coins anyway so doesn't matter.
7924  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2014, 09:43:42 PM
someone just dumped 820 coins on stamp  Shocked

But it didn't make that much of a dent.  BTC E is still $15 cheaper.   Bearstamp is still tied to Huobi and BTC E is off on a frolic of its own.

At this stage there are no reputable sites to invest bitcoins.  Just hold them yourself.

A key logger is a program that records your key strokes (password) and sends it to someone else.

Look at the chart - It's almost time for the next FUD. What'll it be?

More Gox FUD.

Tiger Direct drops bitcoin.

Someone says they have cracked SHA 256.

A US Senator brings a private members bill to make possession of bitcoin a felony.

The Bitcoin Foundation website gets hacked.

Lots of ideas for more FUD.
7929  Economy / Speculation / Re: We might not see cheap Coins anytime soon thanks to BTC China on: January 31, 2014, 09:27:12 AM
Dude.   The Chinese don't know what it means either.

Don't blame Google for the Chinese Government being deliberately vague.  The PBOC isn't quite sure what to do so it is acting like any good regulator and covering its ass.
7930  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC China back in the business? on: January 31, 2014, 09:16:24 AM
It was a killer whale eating a bot.  Once it swallowed the bot -  silence.
7931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colored Coins: NYDFS Reviews Ways To Transfer Ownership With Bitcoins on: January 30, 2014, 08:35:09 PM
I think you need a separate protocol that sits above bitcoin to track the coloured coins.
7932  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 30, 2014, 11:48:34 AM

Lol that's not the elephant in the room.
7933  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: January 30, 2014, 10:25:37 AM
Just look at the order book of any exchange.
7934  Economy / Speculation / Re: China Halts Bank Transfers - w/ Link on: January 30, 2014, 10:15:03 AM
Also two men were asked to leave a bar in Manchester for being intoxicated and an American Airlines flight left JFK over 20 minutes behind schedule.

Definitely something brewing.
7935  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Money Wall on: January 30, 2014, 08:32:20 AM
Each of the red bills is worth about 20 USD.  Assuming 100 bills in a wad and 10 wads in a brick that's 20 k USD per brick.
7936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I Quit My Day Job (Let's Talk Bitcoin!) on: January 30, 2014, 12:43:30 AM
Nice one.  Many others here are waiting for that same day.
7937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just got an article on Bitcoin and Litecoin in Australia's national paper! on: January 29, 2014, 08:13:37 PM
Nice article well done.  It's always good to get some non Silk Road press.
7938  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxes when many own the same wallet on: January 29, 2014, 12:45:59 AM
Certainly makes things more complicated than they need to be.  You will need to allocate tax liability to the owners in proportion to their respective ownership.  Won't be easy if you have to price every coin for CGT purposes.
7939  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the effective GoxBux inflation rate? on: January 28, 2014, 10:37:40 AM
I think it's not inflation because in order to buy things with a gox buck, you'd have to be able to get it out of their exchange.

You can buy goxcoins with them.

In order to buy things with a gox coin, you'd have to be able to get it out of their exchange.
7940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gox blowing up? $820 vs $1020 on: January 28, 2014, 09:32:29 AM
So Gox is only 16k btc in the hole plus unknown quantity of fiat (probably a similar amount).

So some nice white knight should just come along and throw $30 million USD + at Gox and make the problems all go away.
