I wouldnt get too excited about site X or site Y being blocked in China.
Every time there is a bad story on CNN about China, CNN gets blocked for a couple of days. Same with BBC etc. This is normal.
Locals learn to live with it and work around it (VPN, proxy tunneling etc) or use lower profile sites that arent blocked. The CCP only tends to block the most obvious sites. It also changes from day to day depending how on the particular party official is feeling that day. Of course Tianemen Square, Tibet, Falun gong are perma banned.

Bottom at 425 on 4 January By the way seeing as I called the bottom pretty much to the dollar before Gox even dipped below 700 I am going to hold to my original prediction that we will see another dip into the 400s before US banks reopen on the 4th. |

Apart from if sha-256 is broken or 51% attack successfully forked off another blockchain, anything else is not worth paying attention to. i'm sorry, i'm not keen on the mining end… what does breaking sha-256 impart on the value of btc? wouldn't it make it more difficult, therefore more rare/valuable? preach... Bitcoin is built on SHA 256. If someone manages to crack SHA 256, Bitcoin is over. *edit*. It is currently believed impossible to break SHA 256 with current technology and math skills. 20 years from now - who knows. |

I've been buying all the way down from 800...  Seriously though, sub-500 feels like a good buy to me. We may fall further but I can see this settling around 500-600 after the dust has settled. I have been buying all the way down as well although I hesitated and missed 480 on Gox. |
