Probably a very known question, but I'm very interested to hear what you'd do!

What would you do if you had $1.000.000,- ?

I would probably buy some dope cars + a new house and I will invest a little.

Your way of handling it is the way of losing everything. Remember the british guy winning 60 million euro? He now works for mcdonalds again.

Dreams of spending it is not the same as securing the future.

And investing... that is the way to go. Live from the earnings of your investment first. But be careful, many invested on this forum and lost huge amounts of coins.
642  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think that MONEY is imprortant thing for life? on: May 08, 2016, 07:02:19 PM
Money itself is not needed. Though it can provide the things needed. Food, living room, clothes, medicin, everything needed to life.

It's a pity but there is no way around working to get some.
643  Other / Off-topic / Re: Honesty is the best policy ??? on: May 08, 2016, 06:59:50 PM
Ask me as escrow... Cheesy and I would say dishonesty is deadly.

In real life living with other persons... you don't need to tell something that you don't want to tell so speaking around it is fine.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKS ARE FULL!!!! on: May 08, 2016, 06:22:57 PM
So it really does not need much intelligence to see the trend going on. The reason is clear.
It isn't. As finding the right data on this is a bit hard, you can take a look at total fees per day. They balance out.

So you say I'm not sure but you post numbers where you are not sure too. Roll Eyes
Not sure whether trolling, stupid or both. I never said that I'm not sure, I said that I can't find the exact link to the exact calculations (hence why "~" was used).

Anyway... segwit first needs adoption to have an effect. This takes time.
If people want more TX capacity, they will adopt it quickly, otherwise they are indirectly stating that they don't want additional capacity. Simple as that.

Sure I keep bitcoins in my wallet. But to send it wherever I want. I would not bind them into a payment channel to some exchange only because I might send some bitcoins there in the future. Why should I when I could freely decide about it? So no, I don't really see usecases for myself nor for most users.
Who said that you would only be able to send/receive between yourself and the exchange? Are you sure that you know how LN is supposed to work (in theory)? Because from what I see, you don't.

What do you want to proof with this graph? It only shows the total amount of fees. Which does not make much sense to compare with times where the blocks were not full nor mit times where the bitcoin price was very different. Besides that... there is clearly a rising from 2015.

Ah, so when you post something you can't proof with a link then it is fine, though not when I do the same. I know already you life with double standards alot. So I won't spend time on climbing up your wall of anger and naming. Roll Eyes

You can't force people to adopt something they don't have a usecase for. That's nonsense argumentation. And if the only force to force people to use it will be the limited blocksize then you can be very sure that people will find another way to avoid that extortion. Doesn't matter if we like it or not.

You know how payment channels are established? Then as long as you can't tell me that there will be the possibility to send to more than one received through such a payment channel then my point is valid.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKS ARE FULL!!!! on: May 08, 2016, 05:56:05 PM
I often enough had to send with 0.20$, which is less than half of the minimum paypal fee and clearly it goes in this direction.
Don't blame the Bitcoin network for creating large transactions. This is why fees are measured in satoshi/byte. There is no fixed fee.

[1] I'm really not sure about the effect of segwit since the effects that are hoped on are [2]mostly calculated with a way higher amount of multisig transactions, as far as I remind correctly.
[1] If you aren't sure, then stop spreading misinformation? [2] Wrong. While I can't find the exact link from the mailing list, we are looking at ~190-200% in realistic usage.

I'm really not sure that we can build on this. Of course even when it not brings nearly to 50$, every 10% is a nice thing. Only the big question is if it really will help avoiding full blocks.
Whatever exactly 'build on this' is supposed to mean, the answer is yes to both sentences.

And segwit... as far as I learned about it... I don't see a usecase for me and I doubt many other users have.  If one has as much coins to block it in some payment channel then ok, possible LN user.
You start complaining about 'not seeing use-cases for Segwit' and then continue talking about LN users? That does not make sense. A Segwit use-case is LN.

But most users have the amount for one payment, that's it. So the LN effect won't be high too. Besides that... LN is not really a loved thing.
Do you keep coins in your wallet? If you do, then your argument has no merit.

Sure there is no fixed fee. Though there are times you need to pay more than at other times. And the days of transactions going through instantly with minimum fee are over. So it really does not need much intelligence to see the trend going on. The reason is clear.

So you say I'm not sure but you post numbers where you are not sure too. Roll Eyes

Anyway... segwit first needs adoption to have an effect. This takes time. And the best effect it would have on multisig transactions. Which is not something that is spread as far as was assumed in this claim for the future.

Right, I chose the wrong word. I meant I don't really see a lot of usecases for LN, not for segwit.

Sure I keep bitcoins in my wallet. But to send it wherever I want. I would not bind them into a payment channel to some exchange only because I might send some bitcoins there in the future. Why should I when I could freely decide about it? So no, I don't really see usecases for myself nor for most users.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Exchange my Existing bitcoins for newly generated coins? on: May 08, 2016, 05:50:27 PM
If you want to make the transaction untraceable, I'd recommend using a mixer (which is risky).

Or you can easily deposit the amount to a trustworthy Bitcoin Exchange, like Poloniex or any other.
All of these exchanges use their Hot wallets for withdrawals, which would make your transaction (almost) untraceable.

And receive coins possibly coming from a scam. Which would not be funny if someone would try to claim these are his coins that were stolen. There is no case yet but someone might try this.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Klieman was Satoshi - but now he is dead. on: May 08, 2016, 05:38:49 PM
That aussie was just trying to jump into his dead friend's shoes.  Nothing to see here - move along now.

Why would you believe him? He would have had access to ALOT of bitcoins when his friend would have been satoshi and gave him access to the privkeys.

So no, surely he is not satoshi.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright relents aka Satoshi (air quotes) in Public Apology! on: May 08, 2016, 05:35:49 PM
I still don't understand what was is motivation for this, and I assume he knew this lie would be very short lived...

It's the same for me. I don't have a clue about his intentions. And this way of backing out, trying to sow doubts that he might still be satoshi but only lost the courage to proof it... no surely a hoax. He would have contacted core devs to fix it first otherwise.
649  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchaim deducted $100 fee for $112 transaction on: May 08, 2016, 05:32:40 PM
So OP would you explain where the failure of blockchain wallet was? They are automated so it is very unlikely that they accidentally used that fee. Ok, they have a lot of code problems but if they had then you would not be the only one complaining. So it looks like it was your error. On what reasons could you sue them then. For not disallowing you a free choice?
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright just nuked Gavins and Matonis credibility in just 2 days - wow! on: May 08, 2016, 05:29:00 PM
Maybe they should sue this guy?  Shocked

I think it's their own fault. Stating that he is satoshi without a verifyable proof, not being allowed about a possibly invented proof... no, it's their own fault. Too bad gavin made it too easy for others to discredit him.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF the NSA wanted to take control over Bitcoin, how would they do it? on: May 08, 2016, 05:18:25 PM
They will need more hash power than the whole world mining today to do a 51% attack, which is probably nit gonna happen. There is no other way to block bitcoins.

No, that was what we believed at the start. But it proved to be a valid attack vector to attack bitcoin through it's client. Regardless of what the protocol will look like that will change the ways bitcoin goes. You could attack bitcoin through core devs or through alternative forking clients. It's best to do it both.

Yes, bitcoiners could chose, but be honest... most bitcoiners will use what is presented. Only a core of them will chose with some checking before.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Put some Respeck On Craig Wright's name on: May 08, 2016, 05:12:56 PM
Sure... a newbie claiming that we are wrong in being sceptic... man, this it bitcoin world. We learned it the hard way to be sceptic. And no, there is no proof yet. So you are nothing more than a believer.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Exchange my Existing bitcoins for newly generated coins? on: May 08, 2016, 05:04:41 PM
Sometimes there are offers in the trading section where people sell freshly mined coins. Of course for an upprice. Though that would be how it goes.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKS ARE FULL!!!! on: May 08, 2016, 04:32:21 PM
You were lucky that you sent at a time without overload though there are times at a day when it does not work except you pay fees that more and more look like paypal fees.
Bullshit. The fees are not unusually high, and nowhere near the maximum that we've experienced. They're currently at: 40 satoshis/byte [1]. For a TX of 226 bytes that is 4 cents. Quite like paypal, indeed. Roll Eyes

I welcome segwit but it surely can't bring the huge effect as fast as needed. Well, maybe it will surprise.
It will be fine.

655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 291.2409 BTC for a 0.0001 BTC transaction . on: May 08, 2016, 04:01:03 PM
When they don't want to pay back then could this do enough harm for them? At least they are big so this amount is not so very huge for them like it would be for a small pool. So it's likely they really will pay back.

It is really strange that no one asked to get it back yet. It's not that someone can say that it's fine to lose it...

Sure, I can proceed with being escrow once there is a way to do it without me installing another wallet.

Great that the coins could be taken out of novaexchange...

Changed the ANN back to the old one.  I was unable to edit the new one properly.  It's now up to date

Updated roadmap

How about something in the ANN title about the premine in escrow. This is great for the coin

Since the trouble with Nova Exchange the premine has been sent back to my possession.  When we get onto another exchange SebastianJu will resume escrow most likely.  It was great while it lasted.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKS ARE FULL!!!! on: May 08, 2016, 03:53:57 PM
wot do we do now?

with all this bickering like 1st graders how will anything get done?? i propose bigger blocks becoz u can add things like video, music, gifs etc to the blockchain and it makes it more fun...

the segwitted will not accomodate 7 billion people stop mucking around and fix this before i lose my investment
we will have segwit soon and it should give us enough time to keep scaling. I did transactions today and this week some other too and I have never had problems with it. Just pay the recomended fee.

withdrew the rest on my GPU coins from nova this morning without problem

It probably is a coin that is not big enough yet. Luckily it is in the beginning status so the hacker did not care yet. Cheesy Might have saved the coins.

I'll wait for a gpu coin address from issuer.

I just sent that address to you i've been stuck in meetings all day.

The gpu coins should be on the way. At least I confirmed the withdrawal. Hope it goes through...
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shame on CoinDesk - This is why women don't use Bitcoin on: May 05, 2016, 02:57:03 PM
First of all, you don't judge situation and base your conclusion of 1 picture! This is just showing how ignorant and happy trigger we all are with our judgement.
Secondly men are more prominent in bitcoin world - that is a fact, it is not that women can't be part of it, they are just not as interested from what I could tell.
I talked to many women and men about bitcoin - and I can tell that in general women are more ignorant and reluctant to hear about it.

I did not experience the same thing though there are less woman in the space that are interested in it or are big in the scene. I think the reason simply is the way bitcoin came to live. A dry topic... mathematics... and what's the men-women-ratio in that areas? The big heads in there are mostly men too.

So I think it is plain stupid to demand equality where one should judge from knowledge and experience only. If a woman did not sit there even if she would have been better suited there than one of the mens then fine. That would be unequalitity. But taking taking in persons, regardless of some outer appearence, that are less experienced... why? To make it more colorful?

Imagine having a brain tumor and you want to have the best treatment. Though you get a way less capable doctor to do the task than you would have gotten. Simply because that doctor has some meaningless different appearence.
