Where is that site that shows payout information like how much a share is worth this round etc? Shouldnt this info be on our website under "Earnings and Payouts"Huh
http://d.evco.in/charity/

No after many googlw searches found it:

http://dvccountdown.blisteringdevelopers.com/

I suggest we add this info to the new devcoin website under earnings and payouts.

Also we should try to integrate the dvc usd ticker intothe website somewhere too..

http://dvcusdchart.blisteringdevelopers.com/

I know that it is just a simple download to check the receiver files on a daily basis but does anyone think a daily updated blog would be a good idea? It could be used to make the receiver file information a little less "tech" looking for newbies. I was just thinking this because the information in the file is freely available to the public anyways.

F.Y.I.
It has been my experience over the last week or so that the file is updated between 20:15 and 20:30 CST (GMT -6)
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: December 31, 2013, 08:34:18 PM

They sent a reply email saying, "We have made note of your suggestion. You can reach me on [telephone number] for more clarification." I can PM the number to anyone that would like to make the call.

- Nova

I posted that because their news section has guidance from their government that trading Bitcoin could be hazardous to their financial health. They then paused all trading a couple of days afterwards. It it not my experience that websites return from these types of things.

I could be very wrong though.. Smiley

1683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Psybits Ad Campaign on: December 31, 2013, 05:21:44 AM
Devcoin Press Release is out: http://bitcoinprbuzz.com/devcoin-dvc-experiences-value-increase-of-over-300-in-two-weeks-the-ethical-merge-mined-bitcoin-alternative/

It'll be on Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance etc shortly!

I want Psybits, who is the devcoin advertising admin, to run a big devcoin ad campaign. It would start with six shares directly run by Psybits, plus the authority to hand out up to six shares of awards to people who advertise devcoin independently. For the campaign run directly by Psybits, there would have to be a post or page with a receipt for the most expensive part of the campaign, it doesn't have to be a full cost breakdown. If this goes well, the next round this would be doubled to 12 shares for the campaign and bounties. In the long run the total would further increase as the marketing shares increase, last round they were around 26:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233997.msg3546083;topicseen#msg3546083

Any objections, or should something be changed?

I second this.

I agree too - it would be a pleasure Smiley The more we can get the word out about Devcoin the better.

EDIT: 12 shares from the start would mean I have more resources to devote to the advertising campaigns. I suppose I am a little biased, but this is my humble suggestion.

Is there a page that shows what adverts have already been started? I might be able to come up with some ideas. Smiley

The admin of CEX.IO has replied to me via email and said they will add DVC/BTC trading when enough people have requested it.

To get DVC/BTC trading on CEX.IO (which is an exchange which has pretty high volume) please complete the following steps:

1.) register for http://cex.io

2.) Go to this link https://support.cex.io/entries/28554767-Convert-NMC-IXC-DVC-to-BTC

3.) Click vote for this feature

4.) You can also submit a support ticket requesting they add DVC/BTC trading asap!

Done!

Great work everyone Smiley

Anyone else who is reading this and wants to get DVC/BTC trading on a very, very large exchange (CEX.IO) please complete the above steps! Takes ~2 minutes.

I just dropped them a suggestion to allow DVC to buy GHS.

Hello,

I just posted a business idea on Devtome that I think meets the criteria for the Investment Business plan bounty.

http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty_now#investment_business_plan

The link to my business idea

http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=peer_to_peer_lending_idea

If there are some parts that I didn't explain very well or are hard to understand, I will gladly fix them.

If it doesn't meet the criteria for the bounty I still enjoyed writing it..  Smiley

Hi guys,

I am looking for a btc loan but pegged to the usd! I want to borrow 1000 BTC pegged at $600 US each.

My plan is to take the 1000 BTC and HODLING them until they are worth $1000 US each.

At that point I will give you back 600 BTC and keep 400 BTC for myself!  Grin

As for COLLATERAL , I can offer my bitcointalk account passwords, copies of my ID, I have 0.003LTC and 6 PPC, I also have about 10 DVC.. oh yeah.. I also have a Motorola Brick phone I can throw in but you have to pay for shipping! If this is not enough I can put up half a tube of toothpaste, three rolls of sharmin double ply toilet paper and a 16OZ T-bone steak.

Ummm..

As I understand I am asking for a lot I can even throw in my PS2 with 100 games, I have a PS3 but I play it daily.

So I ask this generous community,

who can loan me 1000BTC?

You could really sweeten the deal by going to the Devcoin Faucet site (http://faucet.d.evco.in/) and loading down your wallet with 5 coins at a pop. Once you have another 30 - 50 Devcoins...people might start to take your deal seriously. Smiley

i've been around for long enough to experience volatility in all its forms.

I'm totally ok with it now. I do not want total predictable reliable price stability.

I want to get a fair amount of value for open source projects funded.
The coin says that '90% of miners profits' are given away to fund those projects, right?

Maybe you can try to guarantee a minimum payout expressed in a more stable currency and then offer the payout in DVC. That would require store DVC in large quantities that could become a problem.  But it is still feasible.

When and if the price stabilize then you can offer random payouts, but now... it doesn't make much sense.  Not only the price of 1DVC is volatile, but even the number of coins per shares :\

I agree, the only way that someone is going to make a very expensive Devcoin ATM is if the business model of making the ATM is feasible. The 96 share bounty will simply be a bonus or a thank-you for a job well done.

My guess is there will be some company out there who makes an ATM at can accept a wide variety of crypto and Devcoin will simply be one of them.

~2 cents~

Something like a coinpayments with a logo saying wr accept coinpayments! Meaning any alts like dvc can be used to fund your account.. We should talk to coinpayments and push for people to accept coinpayments not just dvc.. and work with coinpayments to get more marketing exposure on their website so that people will start to prefer dvc as the defacto payment on their system..

That way if atm accepted coin payments it wiuld be a win win for dvc.

We have to be careful with this. We might end up with an ATM that has 6500 different logos of currency/crypto/card types that are accepted. One could spend 15 minutes trying to find the right logo to see if they can use the machine or not.  Smiley

Yeah, it will probably be a company like Coinpayments and some specilized ATM maker that get together and squirt out some type of  hybrid ATM that can accept cryptos. Making it might be the easy part. The hard part will be trying to convince store owners to put this machine somewhere.

Leverage the share system put them on the receiver list.. we can pay for extra exposure.. give shares to store owners for x rounds to give incentive to use ones that support devcoin.

I think that Coinpayments should probably get some shares on the receiver list as long as they accept Devcoins as payment. It could provide them some incentive to continue to do so.

There could also be an agreement to provide them a specified bounty for a website uupgrade and advertising of their services. I think the next logical step by Devcoin would be to take the bull by the horns and have partial ownership of a payment processor such as Coinpayments. I know the market cap is small right now but there could possibly be room for a 10% to 20% ownership stake if the price was right.

A simple idea would be having an account linked to your crypto ATM card and you simply withdrawal your crypto as needed (in the form of fiat) at various ATMs around the country. Paypal has something similar with a card and withdrawals come from your Paypal balance or bank account.

The one site that I am looking forward to try the most is http://www.igotspots.com/other.html. The reason is because they advertise that you can purchase a one ounce silver bar from APMEX with Devcoins. If you click the payment button you can see that shipping for this item is $8.00. I changed the amount of one ounce bars that I wanted to 25 and the shipping remains the same. I am assuming that this means they offer flat rate shipping no matter what you order. This has me very excited  Smiley

I am pretty sure that others have already done reviews on I Got Spots but I think many different perspectives on transactions with one company can be helpful.

I placed an order successfully and the communication was good, and the item delivered a few weeks later. I've placed a second order and haven't heard anything about it, so you might want to email him first and see if it's still a go.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to email before I place any orders with them.

Hello board,

I am new to the board (and Devcoin) but after doing some basic research on how Devcoin works I have decided to start publishing on http://www.Devtome.com. After looking  at several threads on this forum I have decided to take most everything posted on Devtome at face value and assume everything is correct. After each round is over and payment has been sent out I plan on trying out several different websites that allow Devcoin to be used as payment. After I have received the product that I have purchased with Devcoins, I will post a review of the transaction on this thread.

Or as a link: https://vircurex.com/register?referral_id=392-62729

I had quite a hard time registering for an account at Vircurex. Your code finally worked for me and I was able to register.

It was weird! I tried using several of the referral codes on this thread and none of them worked for me except yours.

Hello, great news guys, bter.com one of the biggest altcoin exchanges in china has reply to me that they accept devcoin, and has announced officially dvc will soon be on shelf Smiley

http://bter.com/ (the english page has not updated, you could visit chinese page, and search for word "Devcoin", incase you know chinese)

If you have a Chrome browser it does an instant translation of English to Chinese but I didn't see Devcoin on the Chinese side when I looked.

That is pretty cool though. The more exchanges that have Devcoin means the more chances there are that Devcoin could have runs.

I actually think that the model Bter is using will be duplicated many times in the future. It will be coin-in and coin-out only in the future for several of them, no cash whatsoever.

request at unocoin (Indian btc site) to add DVC
https://www.unocoin.com/contact.php

Done.  Everyone please do this!

I got a reply from Unocoin regarding adding a BTC/DVC trading pair.  Their reply was:

"Sure i have made a note of it. Our next plans is to get LTC. We will try to include DVC as well some time in future."

It's worth more people contacting them asking for DVC to be added to make sure they know there is demand!

It might also be worth it to contact http://www.cex.io and ask them the same thing. It might help speed up their implementation process of alt coin trading. They presently have online Devcoin wallets and allow for withdrawals for a small 0.001 fee.

If you go to the "Faq" and then "Merged Mining" section it says..

"As of November 11th - GHash.IO has enabled merged mining of altcoins. These coins are mined simultaneously with the BTC, and give you additional profit. Information on altcoins can be found here: http://altcoins.com/

You can exchange alt coins for bitcoins on various exchanges. We will also be implementing a BTC to NMC, IXC, DVC pair exchange soon. Additional coins may be also implemented along the way."

..
I installed that client on my computer yesterday and was impressed with how much it looked just like a Bitcoin/Litecoin wallet. I think it stopped downloading the block chain a couple of times but I could have just been a little impatient. I closed it and then opened it back up again and it started right where it left off. I checked on it a an hour before I went to work and did a test send and receive of Devcoins. I didn't notice any hitches sending or receiving the coins. I plan on playing with  it some more today after I get off work in the morning.

I have to say the absolute #1 plus about this new wallet is being able to backup your data. I have an older computer and that dang thing might just stop working one of these days.  Smiley

Overall, I was very impressed with it.

(I am sorry this review wasn't more technical but I am kinda low tech)

You get 3 shares for the second post about the client.

..
I uploaded it earlier this evening and I also was impressed with the ease of use.  The visual aspect of the client was more like what I am used to and the installation was so smooth, which is important to technically challenged persons like myself Cheesy.  It is still in the process of receiving the blocks, but I'm sure that will not be a problem.  Consistently, it is connected to 8 active connections, I'm not sure if that is the max amount or not.

DVC wallet:    13mtCyZTnMJRJw9nt7xqbiGU7tXrvkeAJB

You get 2 shares for the third post about the client.

..
I did a write up at Devtome: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=testing_updated_devcoin_windows_client

The new client really behaves well. I love to see it linked via Devcoin.org once all small corrections have been made.

Your article is way more than 50 words, it has great pictures, and Bittzy78 got his link from your article, it must of been there first. Technically since the post was made later, you would only get 1 share, but since you wrote the information first before Bittzy78 posted, you should get at least 3 shares. So I suggest 3 shares for Wekkel, any objections?

The Testing Sidhujag's Client bounty is finished.

Sidhujag's client works well. Is it based on bitcoin 0.8.5 or Rsnel's low memory version of I0coin? I want to if this is a low memory version of devcoin, or if it uses the standard amount of memory.

I am happy with getting anything  Smiley

Testing 0.8.5 devcoin windows client (https://github.com/sidhujag/devcoin/tree/master/dist/Windows32)

Today Sidhujag has updated the devcoin windows client from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 (Devcoin-qt_V1.0.1.zip).
He has added dvcstable06/dvcstable07 to dns seed nodes.
Strangely you must choose the RAW button if you want download the zip file  Embarrassed
Extract the zip file in any folder and execute it.
After launch go to Help then debug window for viewing block chain counting  Smiley
Everything is perfectly running on Windows 8.

Cyke64, you are the first person to have written a post about installing Sidhujag's client, so you get 4 shares. Please send me a devcoin address from your computer and I'll add you to the bounty list. The next client testing bounty is 3 shares.
