1721  Other / Off-topic / Re: The totally epic "I need to take a shit!" thread. on: December 18, 2013, 02:35:46 AM
Only post in this thread if you're about to take a shit (or leave one), or are taking a shit (or, for that matter, don't give a shit).

My wife has me on the cabbage diet all this week. I assure you, I have felt the need to take a continual shit since we started this thing on Sunday.
1722  Other / Off-topic / Re: A waitress asked for my autograph. on: December 18, 2013, 02:27:20 AM
Yesterday morning I stopped at a cafe, oppose to the dinky service station available at that exit, for a cup of coffee for the road and to take a shit (apologies to the non-coffee drinkers  Roll Eyes). I asked the pretty petite girl donning the usual metal, once only saved for earlobes, if they took Bitcoin. She replied no, but said she heard about it when I asked her. Then I told her who I was. Come to find out, she has visited BitcoinTalk, and her sister is a big Bitcoin fan, of which is probably a member here. She asked for my autograph, of which is going to be given to her sister as a Christmas present, having to now no longer worrying about what to give her.

Soon, I'll be able to charge $400K USD for speaking fees, along with charging 1 BTC for lap dances at bridal showers. I've noticed more and more people staring at me in public now ever since Bitcoin started to enter the mainstream. I don't know what my future agent will be charging for commercials, but the first one I'll do free minus expenses since I'm a nice guy.

I look forward to the girl that received my autograph as a Christmas present to post here and state how happy she was/is.

Did she also take a half eaten piece of your dinner roll and put it in a baggie for her?   Smiley

What are some shit things that has happened to you today?

I'll start it off

I lost my wallet. I have no idea where it is. Been looking all around my room for an hour now. :/

I work nights and my dogs kept barking all morning long while I was trying to sleep. I am now back at work with very little sleep. The thing is they weren't barking at other dogs... they were barking at each other. I was blessed with three dogs that hate each other.

What do you think?
http://www.businessinsider.com/williams-bitcoin-meltdown-10-2013-12
FUD or does it have some real meaning in it?

Quote
Ironically, China, the second largest economy in the world, helped push Bitcoin prices to the clouds and now is pulling prices back to earth.  In the last week, China has delivered three knockdown punches.  First the central bank forbade its banks from accepting Bitcoin as currency.  Then, Baidu, China’s Google equivalent, announced it would no longer process Bitcoins.  Finally, China banned third-party payment companies from transacting with Bitcoin exchanges.  This last announcement significantly weakens market liquidity for BTC China, the largest Bitcoin exchange.  By voting “No” on Bitcoin, China fueled greater market skepticism.  Markets have already responded by lopping off, at the low, $6 billion in Bitcoin investment value.

If this is true, I can understand why the bitcoin price has dropped a bit for now.

Discuss.

I think there will be several up and down swings in the coming years before we get a more stable price. Once it stops trading like a commodity and behaves more like a currency (with less volatility) the majority of people will simply stay away from it.

Say you'll get 0.1 bitcoins if you post a naked photo of yourself anonymously. Would you do it? What's the price you're willing to do?

And would you be willing to pay 0.01 to 0.05 btc for high res versions of the photos?

I might do it for 0.1 Bitcoin but people looking at the photo are only going to get 0.0001 worth out of it.

So if we form our own nation who will be president and prime minister, what will we do to scammers or criminals.

will we have clean water and shelter with appropriate clothing? What will we do when other countries try to take our resources.

Will the bitcoin nation have a military and spies to see what other countries are doing?

Should we enter the UN or EU?
O.O

I think it would be something closer to the MS The World cruise ship. The entire population of the ship owns the ship and pays for it's maintenance. If you want to sell your cabin, you can do so. You can also come and go as you please as the ship comes into different ports. The catch is, no matter how much time you spend on the ship, you must pay for it's upkeep every year.

1727  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Nation on: December 17, 2013, 09:40:35 PM
Been thinking about the same thing. Maybe something like an artificial floating island, possibly a huge ship-city that can sail around the world as needed. With an airport for easy travel and obviously easy to anchor a personal boat to it for those so inclined. We would have to import everything this way, but we can afford to and it would also mean that other nations benefit from us since they would be making money.

Yeah, if we are talking about a large ship that constantly sails the world, it might be very possible. If you have a physical country then you will have to do things such as make laws, raise taxes, build an army and provide social welfare programs. I think a crypto-ship would be kinda interesting though.

1728  Other / Off-topic / Re: My next door neighbor continually masturbates every 2-3 hours in my garden... on: December 17, 2013, 09:24:14 PM
And he's doing my roses in. I have nothing against jacking off and am in fact pro-masturbation, but his fucking cum reeks and often makes me feel sick. It's complete milky schwag and he continually coughs his guts up pretty much every-time he jerks off from 6 in the morning to midnight. He coughs so violently that I've heard him puke several times. My windows are always shut yet his coughing still gets in along with his smelly vile cum. What do I do? If I ask him to stop doing it, I doubt he will. Do I threaten him with the police if he refuses? I don't want to do that, but this shit is making me feel physically sick, especially when he barfs. He lives with his grandmother who has hated me since I was a child. She even attacked me on one occasion for no reason what-so-ever. I don't mind her grandson masturbating as long as I can't smell it or hear him coughing or ruin my roses. He also has a 1-2-year-old goat and often leaves it in the house whilst he goes outside to whack the monkey. I can hear the goat crying and screaming whilst he's outside. He's a stupid skinny degenerate thieving Jeremy Kyle reject chav. I also believe I could kick the living shit out of him if it came to it, but I'm a pink-tutu-wearing pacifist and will only fight if I'm attacked and there's no other options.

And who the fuck actually gets addicted to masturbation? I mean seriously.

Wut do? Please advise.

Ok look, I had no idea those were your roses. I will attempt to find a more secluded place to, um, plant my seeds.

1729  Other / Off-topic / Re: This Just In: Chinese President Rumored to be replacing Yuan with Bitcoin on: December 17, 2013, 09:13:04 PM
I have a secret source who has a friend who knows the President of China.

He is rumored to have said, during a secret circlejerk, that they will be making Bitcoin the official currency of China.

I was walking in Austin earlier today and some homeless guy told me the exact same thing about China and Bitcoin. I guess the homeless guys in Austin always keep up on the latest in current events.  Grin
1730  Other / Off-topic / Re: Christmas List on: December 17, 2013, 01:13:05 PM
If you had enough BTC to get one thing from your christmas list, what would it be? Mine would be Google Glass. They are going for between $2000 - $2500 depending on model. This would make my entire year to get one of these.

I would simply put a couple of thousand in my rainy day fund. That fund has been dry for the last couple of years now.

360s is really long Sad
I know it is there to prevent spam, but it should be something lower...

I think that if you spend a couple of weeks posting once or twice a day. You will get that lower time per post.

1732  Other / Off-topic / Re: IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! on: December 17, 2013, 12:43:25 PM
I'm drunk. Like really drunk but I don't wanna go to sleep yet cause sleeping drunk makes for a shit hangover.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Happy birthday!!!

Be sure to skip a day before getting falling in a ditch and not found for 2 days drunk again.

you've got to be kidding me.  amazon must be doing this for publicity.  that piece of crap can't possibly be the actual drone one day.

Once the drone lands just throw a net on the damn thing and take it home. If Amazon comes looking for their drone just tell them that you had seen it flying in a north northeastern direction about an hour ago.

I had a strange thing happen where the limit kicked in on my very first post? Is there a signup waiting limit too? Then when I tried to repost it said I had already posted but it never show up. Odd.  Huh

Log ins, searches and attempted posts are counted. You need to wait the full 6 minutes to reset the limit. It may also possibly be a bug, as it only happens to newbs, but the former is more likely.

I think that I had a post disappear on me a couple of times as well.

Maybe a moderator deleted it?

I guess that is possible but it seemed to happen when I didn't wait the six minutes and there was a message afterwards saying I have already posted it. I think it might be a glitch.

I think that I had a post disappear on me a couple of times as well. It seems that the fix for this would be to wait the full 6 minutes before even attempting to post again.
1736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will bitcoin reach $10,000 one day...? on: December 17, 2013, 10:46:35 AM
I don't think that it can happen in the near future. The problem is people are just greedy as hell. If you buy Bitcoin for $1000 and it goes up to $2000, I think most will simply take profits. In my opinion, there will have to be many resistance points broken to ever see $10,000.

Selling or spending coins helping redistribution of Bitcoins, it is good thing in my opinion.

I agree completely but as long as people take profits, it will be harder to push through higher resistance points. I guess it would have to come to the point where people holding a $5000 Bitcoin believe it is under priced and actually worth closer to $10,000. If it is going to happen, Bitcoin will have to prove to have more utility in the real world and not just being used for online trading.
1737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will bitcoin reach $10,000 one day...? on: December 17, 2013, 10:33:25 AM
I don't its possible, but who knows. Maybe I am wrong, only time will show.

Yeah, who knows what the future will hold for all cryptocurrencies. The only thing that I know is that they are probably here to stay.
1738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Faucet sites for newbies on: December 17, 2013, 10:25:21 AM

honestly, I was using the link to the faucet sites on CryptoSource until I found the Devcoin faucet. I was seeing the payout of 0.00000020 per Bitcoin faucet but the Devcoin one has a payout of 5 Devcoins at about 0.00000148 of a Bitcoin each (current price on Crypto-trade) . You can take your Devcoins and then trade them for other coins on sites that allow the trading. I just thought that I was spending a little to much time with very little reward on the Bitcoin faucet sites.

I was looking for that as well. I think it might be something like 10 posts before you are considered a Jr Member because you can put links in your signature.
