Hi, I was browsing about 50 pages here https://www.blockchain.com/prices?page=50 then I gave up and googled it...there are more than 2000 cryptocurrencies! Why? The fiat tends to reduce thanks to EUR, what's the purpose of so many cryptos? thanks Why are there so many website? Each website has different utility. Projects that have no real world utility will fail. I investing in IOTA and 0xMR for example. IOTA is working on smart cities and CBDCs and 0xMR has utility in casinos, profit sharing, DeFi, and a future mixer. |

I dont think its smart to get crypto investment advice from forums most of us here dont know what we are saying and most of the advice you will get are going to be coming from other noobs just like you.
The Best advice i have is do your own research, if you dont understand it, dont invest in it, its better to miss out than to loose your money.
Remember investments are risky, so why trust other people's opinions to making investments that they aren't making with their own money?

If Ethereum 2.0 comes out, will that be a new separate coin and will it bring down the value of Ethereum and Ethereum Classic that is currently in Coinbase or Gemini?  Most of the top smart contract cryptos these days are just forks of Ethereum. I suppose it's possible that at EIP1559 miners fork Ethereum but most people will stick with ETH. ETC doesn't look like it's going anywhere. They were unable to solve their hashrate security problems. |

I almost got confused that the bullrun is over until I think about everything deeply again, here is what I think about, this bull season is not like 2017s, we don't have powerful people buying BTC this crazily in the past, crypto was never this popular and more supported in the past, Tesla, mastercard, PayPal, Microstrategy etc where not here before, even if the bull is slowly fading the high adoption rate still stands

When I was still a newbie to crypto many people told me to keep holding and that's all I did for many years and in the end I ended up with many dead coins, whenever I keep seeing people talking about patience as if it's the only thing a newbie need I always shake my head, the fact is you need more than patience to get good results from projects, having patience sometimes will get you nothing
It only takes one solid microcap like ALCX or 0xMR to 20x for you to become a millionaire. It's okay if 9 out of 10 fail, you only need one microcap to make it big. |

But they do not and will not move, as all the institutional money is pouring into bitcoin.
We won't see a "year of the altcoins" for a very long time, at least not before bitcoin has reached one million.
Investing in altcoins is difficult, and so is timing the market but you will be lucky to get a 2x with Bitcoin. Microcaps like ALCX and 0xMR can easily 200x. |

it seems that the fight for the top 10 in coinmarketcap is a long way from having altcoins that remain in that top 10 for years, which leads me to the question: how long will ADA be able to stay in the top three? I thought Tether was going to be in the top three and would not leave it for many years ... but I can see that soon BNB will occupy position 3 and will not leave anymore The current ADA valuation is hype, no developers polled want to program on haskel. The only way for smart contracts to be successful on Cardano is if they build something that normal people can use, a lego smart contract where users fill in the blanks and the smart contract is issued. The first blockchain that does this will take a huge market share. |

Uh oh, I think you really need to take a look at your portfolio: BTC- A safe bet, especially if an ETF is announced ETH- A safe bet, Ethereum scales in March Dash- Sell, it has an identity crisis, it's not a privacy coin anymore, it really doesn't do anything that you can't do with other blockchains, there is no usecase Monero- Sell, It's an overpriced fork of Bytecoin that can be tracked. There are over 100 cryptonote coins that have the same exact technology as Monero, there is no reason for it's current valuation. Add to the fact that it's biggest use case, swapping from BTC to XMR and back to wash BTC, is no longer necessary due to the taproot upgrade and wrapped Bitcoin on other privacy chains like incognito. I would sell for incognito PRV or 0xMR. Litecoin- I would personally sell this but due to adoption from some institutional funds, it will likely continue to exist for a few years but I doubt you will make as much money holding it as you would holding a DeFi token like FARM or ALCX. Tezos- It's an ETH killer that isn't gaining much adoption despite the high gas fees. I would sell this for HBAR or the new blockchain that the former founder of TOMO is making. |
