521  Economy / Economics / Re: if you think 18k btc is low wait until autumn ... on: June 22, 2022, 04:57:52 PM
There is a lot of debate whether BTC will go under 17500 again or if we already bottomed. I am using this as an opportunity to accumulate BTC, FTM, and ICP. If it goes down more, I will just buy more. No problemo.
522  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not panic. Everything will get better on: June 22, 2022, 04:56:55 PM
I think the best option for non-traders in this market is to accumulate POS cryptos with high APY staking rewards (like NEAR and ICP) during this bear market. When the bull market resumes, you will have an extra 20% of crypto you can sell.
523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Age of bitcoiners on: June 22, 2022, 04:54:29 PM
I think most Bitcoin investors are older folks and younger investors are into things like NFTs and smart contract chains like FTM and ICP.
524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: June 22, 2022, 04:53:46 PM
Any news on the Bitcoin citizenship investment program in El Salvador?
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no future as a payments network, says FTX chief on: June 22, 2022, 04:52:56 PM
I think the idea that "Bitcoin has no future as a payment's network" is an excuse for why 0xBitcoin on Ethereum was founded. They copied Bitcoin and convinced people to buy a fake Bitcoin on Ethereum and said that it was faster. IMO, the best way to scale Bitcoin is bigger blocks or integration with another chain like ICP or Flare.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, not your coins" on: June 22, 2022, 04:51:09 PM
"Not your keys, not your coins". I don't know since when the saying was born but it has been repeatedly mentioned in cryptocurrency communities.

It's bad idea to put your coins on centralized exchanges with custodial wallets (you don't have access key to that wallet).
It's bad idea to send your coins to centralized lending platforms (like Celcius, 3 Arrows Capital ie.). You don't own key and they can disable withdrawal, apply for bankruptcy anytime.

With this bear market and some disasters recently from Terra to Celcius, 3 Arrows Capital, it is very good time to learn this lesson and act accordingly. It is time to practice this lesson and protect your capital.

"Not your keys, not your coins". Practice it, before it is too late to save your capital.

Security checklist
Exchange hack timeline. Not all of them are real hacks. Some are scam exits.
I don't get why people are staking their BTC on these platforms when they could be wrapping them and using BTC in DeFi on chains like Polygon and the internet computer.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you ready to buy/sell for bitcoins now? on: June 22, 2022, 04:50:21 PM
Bitcoin may still be in a volatile market for a long time. How are you ready to dispose of your assets now? Would you like to buy and sell your assets/products/services for bitcoins? How are you ready to negotiate a price to make the deal go through?
Let's discuss assets, goods and services which price is more than $200 net. Inexpensive goods have already been discussed on this forum. For now, we will not take into account the fact that the use of crypto may be prohibited in one country or another. Let's find how we are ready to negotiate, and what tools we do need in order the buyer could find the seller.
I sold a lot of my cryptos for Bitcoin (not FTM and ICP though) and if I had a house, I would sell it too.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network Observer on: June 22, 2022, 04:49:37 PM
What is the argument for Lightning when people can use decentralized networks with integrated, pegged or wrapped Bitcoin on chains like like ICP and Ethereum?
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: June 22, 2022, 04:48:30 PM
Bitcoin remains to be adopted by every country in the world for various reasons. Here are my thoughts on why..

1. Government policies: Most government and financial institutions round the world seem not to want bitcoin cause of the financial freedom it gives to its users. They would want to control and tax the flow of finances of individuals and they probably fear the anonymous nature of its transactions. Some policies even go as far as criminalizing its use.

2. Scammers and fraudulent practices: Scammers have found bitcoin as a safe haven cause of its transactions being anonymous. Also, terrorist groups among other sources get funded by bitcoin also cause of its anonymous nature. Fraudulent practices and transactions are made with ease wth the use of bitcoin.

3. Fluctuating value: The value of bitcoin isn't steady as it rises and falls. The uncertainty in the price and value greatly hinders the general adoption worldwide.

4. Awareness: Nearly not enough effort on creating and spreading positive awareness on it as some government and individuals alike is hell bent on spreading negativity around and poisoning the minds of prospective users. People need to be aware and understand what bitcoin is really about and be awake to its uses.

5. Information hoarding: You could get lots of information about anything on the internet including bitcoin. But the internet can be misleading to newbies cause you could get right and wrong and also misleading information on the internet. It puzzles me that people with an in depth knowledge of bitcoin would purposefully hoard and keep information to themselves. You may think people don't hoard information but in reality, people do. It irksome just thinking about it. If people could share information, newbies won't readily fall prey to scammers.

These are my thoughts on what's preventing bitcoin from being adapted worldwide.
I think the issues holding bitcoin back are POW, lack of smart contracts, slow transactions, and higher fees. Fortunately, these things can be solved when BTC is integrated with the internet computer or pegged on Flare. At this point, we don't even need the lightning network.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dont invest in projects which is trying to copy Ethereum on: June 21, 2022, 05:42:59 PM
Wrong advice, telling people not to invest in projects that want to be like Ethereum is like telling people not to invest in Cardano, Avalanche and Polkadot, if you are one of the early investors in these projects you would have make a big fortune in bull market of 2021.
Agree with this one for sure. Ethereum is old technology and upgrading it is like trying to put a rocket on a horse. The better solution is to use newer chains like Flare and the internet computer which integrate Ethereum so that Ethereum can be used in DApps on those respective chains.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Path of Survival - Project Discussion on: June 21, 2022, 04:37:03 PM
Hello Bitcointalkers,

In this thread, I will post all the relevant information about the game which we're building - Path of Survival.

We believe that traditional gamers are left out of the blockchain gaming space due to the highly demanding entry (crypto knowledge, wallet, crypto), which eventually turns down the everyday player, who is not familiar with blockchain.
The game is going to be free-to-play, with off-chain game mechanics and a chain-agnostic approach.

We are doing the "gameplay first" approach, which will allow us to build the necessary player base from Day 1 and simulate the game economy before releasing it to the public.

The game will feature a traditional RPG progression in the form of PVP and PVE content and once the player base increases, we will release the RTS mode, which will be a season-based mode in which players will team and compete for resources.

Our most unique approach is the team-to-earn mechanics in the form of clan lands, in which the owners will be able to onboard other members, decide on the governing model and receive passive income from the fees generated by clan members on the in-game marketplace.

Things such as team members, tokenomics model and whitepaper can be found on our website: https://pathofsurvival.io/

Here I will mainly post insights on how the project is developing and what are our imminent goals.

This being said, I would be happy to hear your feedback and general feel about Path of Survival.

If you are going to build a crypto game then you should consider receiving a grant. Several chains are offering grants now, a couple of them are Hedera and Candle Chain, with Candle Chain being the easiest to get.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: #Solana The state of crypto today. on: June 21, 2022, 04:35:28 PM
It's true. The entire Solana blockchain could go to 0 because of a whale being liquidated. Solana is probably the least decentralized blockchain out of all of them (apart form IBM hyperledger). I feel much safer using decentralized blockchains like Candle Chain and Polygon.
533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I stake most of my USDT, it is better to leave it as USDT or change it to USDC ? on: June 21, 2022, 04:33:41 PM
I would say that USDC is being bridged to most blockchains these days and that it is a much safer bet than USDT. I'm looking forward to switching to USDC on Candle Chain and I already have switched over on Polygon.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ethereum Dominance on: June 21, 2022, 04:32:21 PM
The fight between Bitcoin and Ethereum dominance is very interesting to follow and we all know Bitcoin has always dominated the cryptocurrency market and for now it looks like Ethereum is getting closer to Bitcoin and Ethereum Supply will deflation decrease -2% a year after The Merge proof of stake later. Will a new king of the cryptocurrency market willcome?
I don't think that BTC and ETH will stay in the top 10 in 2023. There are so many better projects that have been released since Bitcoin was founded and the tech just hasn't been able to keep up with things like Hedera and Candle Chain. Newer chains remedy all of the problems older chains had, like slow transactions and high gas fees and they add more utility, like enterprise usecases.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful buying alts right now on: June 21, 2022, 04:30:49 PM
It's too early for the bear market to be over, I am saying this because many think we have hit the bottom when ethereum made it to 900$, its not over and you shouldn't be buying coins with all you have, this is a fake out recovery.
That's a good point but long term, buying alts when Bitcoin is 20k or less is going to be a great deal. I'm accumulating CNDL and ATRI and will buy more the further Bitcoin plummets in price. I see this as a blessing in disguise.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops vs Bounties on: June 21, 2022, 02:35:24 PM
Both airdrops and bounties are something anyone should avoid doing round the clock because its so time wasting, only three bounty managers make sense in this forum and all the rest are crap bounty managers with crappy projects, if you want a positive result from bounties its better to join those ones from bounty managers using escrow, for example Julerz12 and Brainboss.
I have heard a lot of horror stories about bounties and that's why I asked. The only one I ever did, Candle Chain, payed out 25k CNDL and didn't require KYC. I'm hearing that other bounty programs either don't pay out at the end or require KYC before you can claim your rewards. Some people have been waiting years to receive their bounties and never got them. They essentially worked for free and got scammed. I would agree 100% with the other poster that said to learn how to do something like blogs to make money but at the same time, I did get a lot of money from some airdrops in the past, like 1inch, so I think there is an opportunity there. For example, if I lived in Turkey, just one 1inch type airdrop per year would be enough money to cover my living expenses, so I do think it is worth the effort.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounty programs or airdrops more profitable to participate in? on: June 21, 2022, 02:26:06 PM
Can you make more money participating in bounties or airdrops? I made the most money doing airdops so far, like the one from Uniswap, but long term, I think bounties like the one from candlelabsdotorg will pay off better. What do you think? Which of these methods of earning free crypto should I pursue?

If you managed to earn more money from Airdrops than from Bounty, you are probably choosing your campaigns wrong. Airdrops are usually dust that is given away almost for free, and owners aren't interested in long-term growth at all. When it comes to Bounty Campaigns, it's also not easy to find an honest project, but if you do find one, I'm sure you'll earn more in the long term than with Airdrop.
Okay, thanks for the feedback. I did earn 25k CNDL so far, so I know this bounty pays out. As far as airdrops, I think there may be two classes of them, one for meme coins and low value token startups and another for large projects like L1s or Uniswap/Metamask tier airdrops. So maybe some airdrops are profitable but most of them are not. That's what I'm thinking at least. If you have the time though, I think you should definitely participate in anything you can to earn extra crypto.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoin will go 10x this year? on: June 20, 2022, 05:36:17 PM
I think Trust Wallet Token (TWT) has a good chance to go from 5X.
I don't think it does actually. Trust wallet mobile app started charging token projects a listing fee in TWT or BNB, which is essentially a bribe to be included in their wallet. Since they introduced this, most projects moved to other wallets that don't try to tax them. I suggest you use something like metamask, tangem, or incognito wallet. I use metamask with EVM chains like FTM, Polygon, and CNDL. I never use Trust wallet anymore, only back in 2017/2018.
539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PoS vs PoW later this year on: June 20, 2022, 05:34:06 PM
Many are waiting for it and Now the price of Ethereum is $1670 what will happen if Ethereum if all stages are completed in the future?

Let's do the math
Lowest price now is $1700 highest $4800 (approx)
Eth 2.0 will kill off 90% of its coin generation (triple halving).
A halving should in theory double the price.
A triple halving is 8x the current price.

So anywhere from $13600 to $38400 per ETH is a sane estimate.
Woah, hold your horses there bucko. 1. You are assuming everything goes well in the merge and sharding. 2. You forget that 38000 dollar ETH means 1500 dollar gas fees, which means most people will be using other chains, not Ethereum, which means the price will never get that high because nobody will be using it. I believe Ethereum will do well long term but only because it will be integrated with Flare and the internet computer, not because of its inherent technology or number of users.
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Airdrop Sharing on: June 20, 2022, 05:31:23 PM
Yes, that seems to be the case, because with the current conditions there are only a few airdrops worth participating in,
while waiting for the market to recover it's better to join the bounty than just join the airdrop,
I think it will show results compared to just joining the airdrop
I think your suggestion is very good, but the current Bounty is also not so good that every participant who wants to join it must also look at it carefully and even a good bounty is also very quickly closed so that late participants no longer have place and have to move to another again.
I found a good bounty. There is one at candlelabsdotorg. I earned 25k CNDL, so I know they pay out. As to airdrops, I haven't seen any good ones since 1inch and UNI.
