461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC hodlers l on: August 11, 2018, 02:01:37 PM
I was holding some small amounts of LTC in hope that Litecoin would offer something more in terms of being used as default option for small purchases using online payment processors. But, I guess I was wrong. It was disappointing to see how the entire business with Litepay went down. Now, the newest business move by Charlie Lee to partner with a German bank could be seen in two ways. It could be positive, if integration of LTC in merchant processing really occurs, but also it could have negative consequences... crypto+banks?!, who knows how it goes.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepVault, another real use case of blockchain on: August 10, 2018, 07:17:49 PM
"DeepVault is a blockchain notary that allows you to store file validation credentials (hashes of files) within the blockchain.
I'm not familiar with their coin. When you say blockchain, is it Bitcoin's blockchain, or their own blockchain?

Because, here is what they state on their website:

Quote
The SHA256 hash got locally from the client's program for a specific archive is transmitted to the DeepVault server. A bitcoin exchange including a call of the 'OP_RETURN' type is done with a specific end goal to post this hash on the blockchain. What might as well be called the ASCII content 'DV##' (proportional to hex '57540414d50242353') is likewise included toward the start of the hash. The 'OP_RETURN' sort of exchange has been provisioned by the bitcoin designers group keeping in mind the end goal to permit the likelihood of posting information on the exchanges incorporated into the blockchain open record. Quote from: https://deepvaultonline.com/

You can use OP_RETURN on Bitcoin's blockchain directly to store any data you like, you don't really need an intermediary to do that.

In any case, I like their concept. Hashing, combined with the immutability of the blockchain, can be used as a immutable proof of ownership.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: believe or not on: August 10, 2018, 06:26:29 PM
I'm sorry about your loss, but the golden rule is never to invest more than you can afford to lose. I can't really give you an expert advice about the future of the entire space, but I can give you my personal opinion. I think that bitcoin will grow if you consider its long term future. If you ask when this growth will happen, it's anybody's guess. If you still hold bitcoins in your possession, just keep them, don't rush to sell them when the price is low. Not only will bitcoin reach its previous all-time high, it will grow many times more. However, I don't think you can say the same for the entire crypto market in general. In fact, I believe that only a handful of cryptocurrencies, the best and most innovative, will survive in the long run.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pleasantly surprised about LBRY on: August 10, 2018, 02:01:18 PM
So, have any of you ever heard about LBRY? What do you think about it?

I'm not sure, I might have heard of LBRY before, but I never really payed too much attention. So, thanks for sharing.

From what I can see, it is a really cool concept. I've just downloaded their windows app and it seems I should be able to claim the 42 free LBRY Credits.

Hopefully, their platform will grow and attract more content creators. More content will then translate into more people interested in that content, hence, a possible competition to the centralized book publishing on Amazon or video publishing on Youtube. Would like to see that happening.
465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ERC20 tokens and the wallets that one needs? on: August 10, 2018, 08:34:44 AM
OK I have looking into some wallets, have you heard of TRUST wallet is is in the Google play store, Suppose to support tokens, but wary of app based wallets
Honestly, I've never heard of TRUST wallet. I see that it's an Android and iOS mobile solution. I don't know if I would "trust" it enough to use it. In any case if I am going to use it, I wouldn't put any significant amounts in it.

As the others have said, use a hardware wallet.
466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ERC20 tokens and the wallets that one needs? on: August 10, 2018, 08:05:39 AM
If we are talking about ERC20 tokens only, you can also use MyEtherWallet (MEW). It's an online wallet which supports these ERC-20 tokens. When it comes to ETH and the tokens that use the ETH blockchain, MEW is what majority of the users use these days. The security with MEW is awful, and you can read here on this forum of people losing their coins every day due to malware or other malicious attacks. I personally, have never found a better software solution. I tried to install the ETH wallet myself, but their blockchain is so bloated that it was a dreadful task. So, yes a hardware wallet would be the best recommendation if you can afford one. If you are gonna use MEW, make sure you have understood how to rune it safely (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3461647.0). Good luck.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the EOS , ADA or Ziliqa on: August 10, 2018, 07:36:56 AM
I don't know about investing it Zilliqa, but the technical side looks interesting. Compared to the competition, Zilliqa at least has managed to implement some promising solutions, like sharding. By contrast, so far ADA and EOS are just hype and promises. It would be interesting to see how their sharding solution works in practice. On the downside, they have postponed the launching of their mainnet, with the explanation that they need more time for proper testing. Maybe they want to launch when the market is bullish, who knows. They also promise decent decentralization so I'm looking forward to following their progress.
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH mining, need help. on: August 09, 2018, 08:33:57 PM
I need somebody to send me the best GPU cards with discount.
I also need to tell you that I live in Iran.

Why don't you try your local classified ads? In my opinion, that's one of the better ways to buy a cheaper GPU that hasn't been used much in mining.
469  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading altcoin for the first time... on: August 09, 2018, 06:55:27 PM
I want to learn to trade alts, on Binance, but am just afraid to begin.

Binance is a good choice to start with trading for the first time.

Most of the vids I've seen say to use Bollinger bands along with, of course the candlesticks.  Can I get by with just those two indicators for trading?

Of course, you can use Bollinger bands. Many people do. You can get by with it, but don't rely just on it. Try to have as many different signals as you can, including signals that have nothing to do with technical analysis.

Or, are there more "tools" I should use?  Just seems a bit overwhelming! Only going to spend $20 worth in fiat to start out, until I learn this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, there are many more tools, but you have to start somewhere without making things too complicated. In fact, you don't have to use tools at all. Some people trade just by following the charts, without any tools. But it is good to have a system, especially if you are just beginning.

Make as many trades as you can, because your main point for you now is to learn. You will soon figure out how things work, because practice makes perfect.

Be patient. Don't be too happy when you win, and don't be too sad when you lose.

471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] 🚀🚀Mero Coin - Digital Marketplace 🌐- Signature Campaign✅💰 on: August 07, 2018, 09:52:02 AM
Hey. Quite an interesting start bounty company. I took your signature, but I want to ask: how will you track the number of posts per week, if you do not have a starting date? And where you can see a table with the accrual of awards for the week, as some elementary mistakes in the counting of posts in a week and start a useless argument. In my opinion, visibility is the best discipline of your company.
I thought it would be interested to join too. But after one week of posting, there was not a single answer by the manager. There was no spreadsheet and no update at all. It was not clear whether they will make weekly payments, monthly payments, or any payment at all.

So, after a week, I quit.

472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Technical or fundamental analysis: what is the best choice? on: August 05, 2018, 04:51:25 PM
You can also act in the reverse order. For example, use technical analysis to find the crypto currency in an uptrend, and then check with a fundamental analysis whether there are objective reasons for its growth.
I think with this you have answered your own question. Technical analysis can be useful for day trading  and short term evaluation. Fundamental analysis makes sense only if the coin has some utility value, which many coins don't really have.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee’s ‘unhackable’ crypto-wallet allegedly hacked in a week on: August 04, 2018, 01:49:29 PM
They just replaced software, they didn't manage to get the coins.....
Correct. They have apparently gotten root access without read/write privileges. John McAfee claims that no coins have been stolen, and if that's the case, the wallet hasn't really been hacked.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Gamecredits - pure shit? on: August 04, 2018, 01:12:10 PM
It seems like a huge drop from about 20,000  satoshis in April to 2,000 currently. But many other coins have suffered similar destiny, and this is to be expected when the market is bearish. The main point is, do the people behind Gamecredits have a long term vision about where they want to be.  Are they working behind the scenes on practical solutions and publicly on promotion? If they are really devoted to their plan and vision, maybe it's worth sticking with this coin. Otherwise, given the huge number of similar coins on the market, probably not.
475  Economy / Services / Re: Help needed to get a token (coin) listed on Coinmarketcap on: August 03, 2018, 08:16:06 PM
What are their real requirements? What do they mean by becoming more established actually?
Their reply is really vague. Probably they mean more exchanges (volume). Hopefully, the guy who promised to help will actually be able to help.
476  Economy / Services / Re: Help needed to get a token (coin) listed on Coinmarketcap on: August 03, 2018, 07:47:31 PM
Someone could correct me, but I think you have already done all you could do. More exchanges could help, of course, but these 3 your coin is listed on should be enough. I believe it's just a matter of time before they list your coin. At least that's what I remember from other altcoins trying to be listed. It was a waiting game.
477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Important trading psychology lessons that you should take note of on: August 03, 2018, 08:55:48 AM
In my opinion, the most important psychological treat of a good trader is to remain calm no matter what happens on the chart.  Easier to say than to do, especially if the movement is in the wrong direction from what you expect. It takes having nerves like steel to be a good trader.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to start buying Bitcoin again? on: August 03, 2018, 08:52:47 AM
Do not rush with the purchase! Most likely the price of bitcoin will continue to drop right up to the time of the SEC decision on ETF on August 10. But it is possible that the decision will be postponed to September, then the fall will continue.
Yes, there are indications that SEC will prolong its decision until September 21st. For those who don't know what it is about, it all revolves around the announced bitcoin ETF (exchange trade fund). So if the decision is positive, we may expect bullish sentiment, if not the other way around.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO non payments on: August 03, 2018, 08:42:26 AM
Welcome to the ICO world. It sucks I know. I've been denied payments a couple of times already. Hard to tell which one of the new ICOs is a scam ICO and which one is not, but there are quite a few. Good luck in claiming your reward.

P.S. Forgot to mention that you can report all scam ICOs in the Scam accusations board (provided that you have some proof): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency back from the dead? on: August 03, 2018, 08:31:55 AM
But if this august, crypto currency is fall again or maybe have no positif movement, so this is the end. What do you think buddy?
Doesn't matter at all what we as individuals think. The market has its logic, and it will go up and down and then up again. Just don't get caught into believing that these swings mean something important is going on, and don't rush into stupid decisions. If you hold long term you will be fine.
