41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to directly spend your Crypto (finally) on: June 26, 2018, 02:23:27 PM
Well although this is still not the ideal way to spent cryptocurrencies, it definitely helps and is a step forward. There are of course already other ways in progress, like using cryptocards (some still work and don't have problems with Visa or MasterCard), or to simply sell your coins on an exchange and then withdraw them to the bank (this is the "worst" solution of course).

Anyway, what I really want to see is for crypto to be accepted on those companies without a middle man. That the hole point of crypto, and it will never be a currency until it happens, and we still have a long way to go for that. Still good news though, and could help a little in adoption.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 4 trading tips for surviving in a bear market – Coin and Crypto on: June 25, 2018, 10:30:19 PM
I actually think it's easier to make money on a bear market than on a bull market. During 2017, I thought I was doing a great job trading, because I was keeping most of my funds in fiat, and would by and sell crypto from time to time for profit. Most of the times I've bought I was getting profit, so I thought I was doing things right, but when I actually compared to what I would have make if I just holded my coins, I realized that I would had way more profit than what I was getting. So basically I was already doing the correct strategy for a bear market, and things look easy now.

The strategy for a bear market, is to keep things in fiat, and by crypto from time to time, when the markets seem to be getting a boost. Even if you fail that boost and the market falls, since most of the time you are keeping it in fiat, you are actually protecting your investment, so when the markets do shift, you will be able to buy a lot of coins at a better price.

This is for trading purposes of course, because if you do believe in the project, there is nothing wrong in keeping some coins for the long run, and to simply hold them and don't care about price movements. I try to trade, but I also have long terms coins that I just don't touch.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is best practice for gambling?? on: June 25, 2018, 10:20:06 PM
May anyone tell me what is the best practice for gambling with little investment? I have no so much experiance about it.Any suggestion or advice.

Well, I would say that the best practice is to gamble for fun and don't worry about profit because you probably won't get any when you are gambling.
If you try to gamble for profit, you will be doing things wrong in the first place, because gambling is not an investment, and that could eventually lead you to start chasing losses etc.

So if you will be doing it for fun, go for it, but don't see it as an investment or a way to make money, otherwise you will be risking getting addiction and gambling problems.
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to 3000$? on: June 25, 2018, 09:56:11 PM
I think this is highly unlikely but as usual no one can be sure about anything in crypto right now, since it's a very speculative market. I do believe in one thing though, very few people are buying bitcoin right now, and the market is ruled by traders and speculators, and since the majority of BTC investors are retail investors, I would say that these markets are not populated by specialists right now. I think this is important, because it makes it easy for whales to spook the markets, since retail investors are to emotional.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Starting WAR with ASIC vendors. on: June 23, 2018, 05:29:14 PM
I can't say ASIC doesn't lead to centralization, but boycotting them altogether is probably not the option. I think that what we need is more competition in the ASIC market, making them less expensive and accessible to more users. Of course big mining companies can always create ASIC farms, but if they are not that expensive, maybe more users will actually buy them for home use, and the mining pools could lose a small percentage of their share, which would be good enough I guess.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With each drop crypto currencies are getting stronger! on: June 23, 2018, 05:15:10 PM
Well if the price is dropping that actually means that there are more people selling than buying, or maybe we can't really make comments related to the number of people buying and selling, but we do know that we have a larger volume of sells compared to the volume of people buying in. So in theory, it would mean that crypto would be getting weaker.

I do believe that crypto is actually getting stronger with each drop, but for a different reason. I think that the weak hands that were holding crypto are leaving the space, and the ones that are buying now, will be less likely to sell it in the future, simply because that i they are buying when the price is dropping, they are doing it because they believe in it's fundamentals and are probably planning on holding it long term.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption can save lives now! on: June 22, 2018, 08:36:04 AM
Well I don't think it's that simply. If fiat was only digital, or even if it didn't exist at all, and all we ad was crypto, people would simply find other ways to rob money. Hacking would probably increase, and yes, maybe no one would die from those attacks, at least not directly, but I don't think armed robberies would stop. For instance I think that it would be possible for criminals to simply kidnap rich people, and ask for their private keys in order to rob them from all their money. It actually had happen already, although at a small scale. So if crypto was all we had, we wouldn't be seeing crimes like the one you've shown, but we would probably see more kidnappings and even torture, to gain access to private keys.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world? on: June 22, 2018, 08:30:27 AM
Everywhere you can find cryptocurrency topic especially ICO projects are doing well on the marketing through social media like facebook, twitter, reddit, linked, youtube and etc. Celebrities, influential individuals and high ranking government officials are talking about cryptocurrency and that is why i think cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world. Do you agree with me? Even haters help cryptocurrency to be known all over the world so let just leave the haters then.

Well, I do agree with you, but SEC, and companies like facebook and google, are definitely trying to change that. We already know that google twitter and facebook banned crypto adds, trying to make it harder for new projects to reach global population. Recently John McAfee also said that he would not advertise ICOs again, because of SEC threats, so I guess this will extend to more celebrities that were endorsing ICOs.

I don't think this is a big deal though, because most people already know crytpo anyway, but in the long run it can diminish crytpo popularity.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Glory days are gone for the moment! on: June 22, 2018, 08:25:44 AM
There is not enough enthusiasm in crypto to see 10K BTC at the moment. Most dudes are swing traders and Institutional money will not entertain investing into a market whereby the Whales manipulate.
The equation has changed and you need to grin and bear it for the moment.
Best bet is to buy a coin with good fundamentals that has enormous potential.

Many coins have half baked tech and will be taken over in the future.

I actually agree with you on this one. After the crypto rush that happened in 2017, I guess that the only ones left to buy crypto are institutional investors, but they will not jump in until the market gets regulated, and the risks of market manipulation are lower. Until then, we will probably just have "swing traders", like you said, playing with the market. Since they keep buying and selling, they can't make the market grow, because the money just keeps jumping around.

This doesn't mean that it's not worth investing in crypto, because the coins with good potencial, like you said, still have their fundamentals intact, and this makes them a good investment for long term. It's risky, but I think it's a risk worth taking.
50  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SECRET OF TRADING on: June 20, 2018, 08:54:32 AM
Even though you didn't offer much insight on how to actually get better a trading. And by this I mean you didn't try to explain any type of strategy you use. You did touch a fundamental point about trading. You need to have a plan, and you shouldn't even attempt to trade until you really know what you are doing. I think the best approach for anyone getting started into trading, is to simply simulate trading on tradingview for example, or any other platform or site that allows that. This way they can actually put to the test their strategies without the fear of losing money. Once they show sustainable profit in the long run, it means that it's time to put it to test with real money.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance about to offer Fiat-Crypto Trading. on: June 20, 2018, 08:42:10 AM

That would be amazing, because we are still very limited on crypto/fiat pairs. The majority of exchanges that offer that option, and you can count them by the fingers, usually don't offer to many coins for trade. I really miss that on coinbase for example, and I normally use other exchanges, like bittrex or binance, because they coinbase only allows me to trade 3 alts. If binance started offering fiat as well, it would probably put a lot of pressure on the other exchanges. I would probably stop using coinbase for example, and stick to binance, since they would have all that I need for trading (although you can still trade with no fees on gdax, and that is of course a plus for them).
52  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which do you prefer ? Kucoin or Binance ? on: June 20, 2018, 08:35:44 AM
I think there are a lot of other things you need to consider when choosing an exchange besides it's fees. Of course a trading fee and withdrawal/deposit fee are very important, but normally all exchanges are quite similar on those aspects. So for me, what you really need to focus is security, volume, and of course if it has the coins you want to trade or not. For me binance is a very good exchange, because until now it has been looking reliable, and you usually don't have issues with it, as far as volume goes, it's one of the top exchanges out there, and it also offers a lot of coins to trade with. For those reasons, I would go for binance. If you don't want to trade altcoins though, I would probably go for coinbase/gdax.
53  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical Analysis - logical explanation - Poll on: June 19, 2018, 10:25:58 AM
Well as usual, I think technical analysis works, but it wont be able to surpass fundamental analysis or, unfortunately, market manipulation. Sometimes everything just looks perfect, and you can earn some decent bucks on technical analysis alone, but some bad news come up (mostly fud), and it all falls apart. So basically I think you can try to use it, but you can't just stay to attached to your analysis, and you must accept that even if you do everything right, you must be willing to change because there are other things controlling the market.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash Price Analysis: BCH/USD May Overtake $900 on: June 19, 2018, 10:21:35 AM
As usual I don't think there any point in making analysis on altcoins because they will just do whatever bitcoin does. You can try to get information on what alt will get a stronger move, compared to what bitcoin will do, but it will be hard to see a break in bcash if we don't get a break in bitcoin as well.

As for your analysis it seems correct though, and if BTC breaks, I think we will see some nice gains in bcash. The same thing will probably happen with ethereum as well though, and I think I would rather trade ether than bitcoin cash though.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What platforms do you guys use to discuss/promote cryptocurrency? on: June 19, 2018, 10:17:49 AM
Well i hardly use twitter because it's just to messy for me. I like to use youtube to get new content but I hardly use it for discussion because I don't pay attention to the chat, so basically I watch the videos and nothing else. That leaves me with this forum actually, and I normally use it for discussion, and you can get a lot of good information here. Of course it's probably the slowest then twitter and youtube, in terms of getting new information, but it's easier for discussion in my opinion. I need to try reddit as well.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency on: June 17, 2018, 02:11:49 PM
If it is reallya regulation as well as legalization, why limit it on only seven cryptocurrencies? Good thing is less competition and price may rise continuously but how about innovation? Just thinking it would be fun to have more competition.

More competition? I think that one thing we are not lacking is competition. Or at least attempts to become competition, because if we actually look to most projects, they are nothing more than copies of other projects, and that doesn't necessarily classify them as competition.
Not saying that other projects should be deemed illegal, on the contrary. I do think everyone should be allowed to create it's own project, but I'm just saying they need to become better, and serve a real purpose.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto long-term? on: June 17, 2018, 02:04:50 PM
Do you really look for a long term profit, like the people who had bitcoin in 2014 or are you here trying to get a quick buck with a minimum effort?

I think that those seeking fast profit at a minimum effort will not be doing it in the right time. The markets are still on a down trend, and although it's possible to view some nice increases in price from time to time, they are to fast and hard to catch, so most people trying to do that will probably get burned. I think the best approach for entering crypto now, is taking the long term approach. If crypto is to survive, and it's price is quite low, so this should be a good time to invest. We will probably have some losses in the short term, but we should be rewarded in the future.

Also, from a technological point of view, crypto still has a long way to run, so that another reason to see these investments as long term, since crypto needs time to reach it's true potencial.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tell about Bitcoin gambling site and your opinion & experience on: June 16, 2018, 07:56:49 PM
Right now I'm only betting and I like nitrogen. I used to be a fan of directbet, but since they've closed I turned to nitrogen and stayed there. They had small problems with "payments delays" because of the high fees, but everything is smooth now, and I like how things are working now.
I'm not using any other type of gambling, because I hardly play on casinos, and I just don't like "crypto poker", because it still lacks a good player base.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain and Personal Projects on: June 16, 2018, 07:54:11 PM
I guess that one of the great uses of the blockchain, is the possibility of having a complete decentralized platform where it's users can use whatever it offers, and trust in it's data without the need for a third party to confirm that the data in that platform is legit.

If you project has any needs for that, then I guess you could try to develop it on the blockchain. It's applications are quite large of course, because it's easy to have the need for secure and trustworthy data, without any bureaucracy complicating things. Voting systems, any type of certifications (college degrees, art certifications, shipments data, etc), and many other things. So I guess it would be easy to try to secure some form of data on your area of expertise (Atmospheric Physics).
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your recommended crypto allocation? on: June 15, 2018, 08:58:21 PM
Hi all,
the recent bloodbath pushed me to start investing in the crypto market. My current position is approx. 33% BTC/ETH/EOS. What would be your recommendation for a balanced crypto portfolio for the next 6-12 months?
Thanks!

I understand the importance of not keeping all the eggs in one basket, but usually when bitcoin is falling, the altcoins fall even harder. So in the current market conditions, I think you should keep more in bitcoin, and less on the other alts. When you realize that the trend has changed, and money is flowing in again, then I would invest more on altcoins, because they usually increase more in % than BTC.

There is of course the opportunity for ICOs, that is a little riskier, but usually quite profitable even on a "bear market" like this one.
