I have a doubt regarding the extra point system, but first I would like to confirm that I can still receive any prizes from the side competition only at the end of the main competition, as it already happened in the last edition.

Now the doubt regarding the normal point system:

I know I already used my joker, and since I want to keep the benefit I know I can't double my points again, but my question is if I can "steal" the joker from my opponents. Let's say that today I have the "Highest number of wins during the day". I can't get my points doubled but if I win this, that means that my opponent didn't win the challenge so no one will get their points doubled, is that correct?

One of those days when i regret that i woke up today

if i won this bet today i would have gone from the bottom the the first place in just 1 HIT
was waiting for 1 more goal on the newcastle match

https://directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=1A2voaAWqYNxgRujSm5rfoAubggSpxD11G

really sad

Yep that was tough luck :/
I was sawing my opponents bets and it seems that he got really unlucky in some of his bets as well, like these two, also lost by the same game.

https://directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=165kJSTAj3DsbuHBs7gkjoN2zqeSrA5ETz

Or this one. Just one goal and with a missed penalty:

Better days will come I'm sure, and this really looks like the best contest so far. I don't remember seeing a top4 above 100% ROI and still in the middle of the competition.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IX FREE Tipster Competition - sponsored by DirectBet (Discussion Thread) on: October 17, 2016, 10:30:25 PM
I'm glad I've passed to the next round. I had a really bad start but manage to get a rush on the last three days.
I really like the new extra point system, we can't really relax because one good day of bets allied with a daily challenge win, can turn the tables.
I really enjoyed the battle in the group C

There was only one thing I "didn't like". Like the admin said, some groups were less active, and that resulted in easy points for some players.

My suggestion is:
Why not a league? Just one group instead of 6 and then the top 16 will advance to the playoffs? This way everyone would be in the same situation, and players in inactive groups would not get an advantage.

Anyway, as usual I'm really enjoying thi competition!
Waiting to see who my opponent will be on the next round xD

i am sorry if this question already asked but i did not see in few pages back about this
so how long the side competition will be held?
and for how many days each phase of side competition will run?
thanks for you who can answer my question Smiley

As the admins of the competition normally say, you can see everything related to the side competition in the second post of this thread (discussion thread). Here is the link if you want:

By the way, congrats on leading both the main competition and your group of the side competition!

925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the difference between game and gamble? on: October 14, 2016, 11:31:08 AM
what do you think it is?

gamble

I think they are completely different things. When you play a game, it's for the game itself in my opinion. The motives can varie from the type of game, maybe you like action, maybe you like a story, maybe you like role playing, maybe you like puzzle, etc etc, but when you gamble, I don't think you care to much about what you are doing, you can flip a coin, you can play dice, or make a bet. When you gamble you look for the excitement in risking something to try to win something back, and I don't think you care that much about the activity from which you are getting that thrill.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 14, 2016, 11:27:44 AM
Quite interesting games for tomorrow. I will take my chances on Man City v Everton, Chelsea v Leicester, West Brom v Tottenham. City and Tottenham, are doing great in the premier, and I expect both of them to win, specially Tottenham, because I'm sure they don't want to waste their effort in being right now the only team that defeated City, so they will keep the pressure on City by winning their game I think. As for Chelsea, it's not that they are doing great, but Leicester is having so much trouble when playing away, that I expect them to lose again.

Man City v Everton
Man City @ 1.46

West Brom v Tottenham
Tottenham @ 1.68

Chelsea v Leicester
Chelsea @ 1.53
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 14, 2016, 11:17:51 AM
Two great games for tomorrow, Juventus v Udinese and Napoli v Roma. I don't think Udinese will score against Juventus because they are having trouble scoring and Juventus has the best defense so far, so it should be a good bet. As for Napoli v Roma, I think although both teams are playing well, Roma is really struggling when playing away so I will bet on Napoli to win.

Juventus v Udinese
Both teams to Score? No @ 1.62

Napoli v Roma
Napoli @ 1.97
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prediction ligue 1, france football league on: October 14, 2016, 11:07:22 AM
Some interesting games for today, Nice vs Lyon and Toulouse vs Monaco. Monaco is playing very well away, but Toulouse is very strong at home. It's a great test for Monaco, as I'm not sure they will be able to keep this good form the entire season. Anyway I will go for Monaco.
As for Nice, I'm pretty confident they will win this one. Interesting season this year. PSG fans are missing Ibahimovic for sure.

If monaco could do very well against PSG then there should be nothing that they could afraid of. Basically if they managed to win against PSG then it is crazy to see them lose against toulouse. Im not saying that they have 100% chance to win however they have quite a high chance to win this game

hmm I don't think that works like that, and if you want to go that way, Toulouse also won vs PSG when they played home. Actually they did not lost home yet, so it wont be an easy game. I will still go for Monaco, because they are doing very well, but it's not close to 100%, but since the odds are @2.42, I think there value in that bet.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 14, 2016, 12:25:30 AM
I think I will go for Dortmund today. They have a few losses vs current "top5" teams, and they will sure have some trouble vs Hertha. But those two losses were when playing away, so I really think they will win this one, since they are playing home. The odds are low, so I will probably use it in a parlay.

931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: October 14, 2016, 12:12:15 AM
Today I'm going for the game Las Palmas v Espanyol. Both teams are struggling, but Las Palmas is playing at home, and is slightly better than Espanyol in my opinion, so I will go for them.

Las Palmas v Espanyol
Draw No Bet, Las Palmas @ 1.52
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ★☆★ Brazilian Soccer Predictions Thread ★☆★ on: October 14, 2016, 12:03:13 AM
Today I'm going for Fluminense vs Flamengo. I confident on a win for Flamengo, they are quite strong both home and away, so I expect them to win this one. The draw no bet seems like a good chance to @1.6, but I will risk it this time.

Fluminense v Flamengo
Flamengo @ 2.1
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: October 12, 2016, 08:48:34 AM
Argentina's resounding defeat at home against Paraguay quoted a 13!
Argentina depends on Messi, without him got only 1 win in their last 5 matches.

I'm so tired of Argentina, they keep messing up my bets. Another loss with them, and look at those odds :/
Didn't expect the draw from the USA. They seemed to be in great form, and started well, but the game was way more balanced than I would expect.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would anyone be interested on a dice site powered by a learning AI? on: October 12, 2016, 08:46:16 AM
I'm not sure I'm understanding this. If it's based on a learning AI doesn't that mean that a player that knows the AI pattern of behaviour, or how it is evolving, could exploit that and predict the outcome of a bet? If it's not random, and it follows a pattern then you just have to know that pattern and you will keep winning I guess, because you know what the AI will decide. If it works like this, then I don't know how you can bring this idea to gamble.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 12, 2016, 08:38:44 AM
Going for a few games today and will make a parlay with them.
Murray is doing great as usual so I expect him to win in two sets vs Johnson. I know he gave him trouble in the Olympics, but I don't think it will happen again. The other bets on my parlay are on a few favourites that I think should win their games, Dimitrov and Kyrgios

Tennis Parlay
Pospisil v G Dimitrov, Dimitrov
Kyrgios v M Zverev, Kyrgios
Johnson v Murray, Murray 2 - 0

Total odds: 1.76
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IX FREE Tipster Competition - sponsored by DirectBet (Discussion Thread) on: October 12, 2016, 08:33:22 AM
I have one doubt, if we change lets say for Entry 2, but were already using Entry 1 at start, will the bets from both entries count to the minimum bets required? Hope it does because if I make the chance close to the end of the group phase, it would be unfair to be forced to make 21 bets on last days.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: October 11, 2016, 05:11:54 PM
i'm making a few bets for would cup qualifying games again. This time I will go for England to win, Germany to win nill, and Uruguay to win.
The hardest ones on these games will probably be England and Uruguay. Let's see how it goes.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 11, 2016, 05:08:48 PM
I have kept clear of betting for the last week and bit but in coming back I want to place a bet on a sure thing. And it looks like this derby might be it. Since Lec city is hurting and are hungry to quell the doubters of their abilities and Chelsea is well.... Chelsea so they will want to score on them while they are down.
I will go with the both teams to score scenario and see if I can actually start a winning story for me once more. Smiley

In stamford bridge it will be hard for leicester to win or even to score. The odds for chelsea to win is around 1.6 and it is quite good and it is actually a waste if you skip on that. Not saying that leicester has no chance to win but to be honest it is almost possible that chelsea is going to win this game

Yes I agree with you, the odds for Chelsea are pretty decent. Leicester is having a lot of trouble and I don't think they can win. As for scoring I don't know either. Not saying that Chelsea defense if that good, but they are not conceding that many goals and Leicester is having trouble scoring.

Never heard of this site before. It's a interesting concept. Not a thrilling game, but still nice for a "lottery".
Quite a decent number of wins in the website considering the low odds. It's not easy to guess 1 in 16, and I counted 8 wins out of 40, so it's on that page at least the winnings were better than 1 in 16.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IX FREE Tipster Competition - sponsored by DirectBet (Discussion Thread) on: October 11, 2016, 04:34:30 PM
I'm glad changes will be made if the group activity stays the same. I think anyone from Group C or D, would get 8 points if they were on Group A, so yest, it's a big disadvantage for us, if things stay the same.
