Is there a dev working to fix this issue?  Would love to add diamond to our pool!

pool mining with actual wallet is only possible with a proprietary pool configuration

afaik only ahmed is working to set up such a pool and not willing to share results of his invested time

easy (close to standard pool setup) pool support will be implemented in next diamond release

for now its solo miners paradise

diamond dev team did decide instead of release multiple wallets with small fixed
we going to wait with release until we have a wallet that fulfill our quality criteria

meanwhile network stay in this stable solo mining status

actual wallet runs stable solo mining runs stable
transactions run stable

everything else will be part of next release

Out of curiosity, I pinged the nodes in the original launch post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.msg6507800#msg6507800 and they all timed out.  Sad

a lot servers including ours (at least mine) deactivate ping (icmp echo request)
and a coin network dont need this few host in add node for anything alse than to find a startpoint to search for peers
basical our nodes just provide a easy startpoint for your wallet to find peers

I still can't withdrawn from cryptsy... This is very annoying right now
I waited over a week to get coins from cryptsy and that coin worked 100%

please if u have troubles with cryptsy withdrawall and deposit create a cryptsy support ticked

our wallet handle transactions stable and we submitted a data to cryptsy

its now their part to link the updated wallet towards exchange software

6665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 07, 2014, 11:08:19 AM
question:

This is very nice but when will we have a working pool?
Every single pool is having the same problem with rejected blocks and im about to give up on this coin.
Please make an effort to get 1 single working pool up.

answer:
scrypt pools closed forever. i'm making a groestl pool server (closed source which i have no obligation to share as its completely custom) it should be done soon Smiley

ahmed will create a proprietary pool solution which is able to mine with actual diamond code

meanwhile we work on adjustmends in code for standard pools too

6666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 07, 2014, 09:45:56 AM
as long as deposit and withdrawal not working on cryptsy
i suggest u write cryptsy support requests regarding this issue

good news

but even if gurus can get a pool working with actual code
we still will deliver a update with more standard conform pool mining possibilities

meanwhile thx a lot ahmed for prepare a home to the people who prefer pool mining

Is DMD in any exchange now? I want to buy some, what is the price you guys offer?

you can buy diamonds at cryptsy https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/72

just deposite and withdraw the coins from exchange is frozen until exchange updated their wallet

but all the coins on cryptsy are valid diamonds that u will be able to transfer to your wallet once they updatet wallet
6669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 06, 2014, 10:42:16 PM
I don't think you can speak for everyone
It'll be bitcoin all over in that solomining will die quickly and pools will reign supreme.

its not poolmining against solomining
its asic against everymans hardware

and by move towards groestl we did clear choose a mining type where everyone can take part and not a few big asic owner
groestl is also much more friendly to a broader spectrum of possible mining hardware (amd, nvidia, cpu, and soon even arm based tablets/smartphones)
yes groestl wont be asic resistent forever but our prime mining window is expected to be around 15 months and we think noone will invest into asic development for such a timeframe

everyone can have his own opinion
my opinion isnt better than yours
but my opinion is the basic of the diamond coin specs  Cool

im impressed by this professional coin rollout good luck for this project!

why is it such a huge deal for pool mining to get rolling? I thought the change in algo was trying to create a more equitable landscape for individuals looking to be involved.  The only thing that pool mining will ensure is that the hashing power is centralized and small solominers will leave.

its opposite way around
small miners are cpu or single gpu miner
and this people want to escape the solo mining lotto

i understand we all know pools will increase nethashrate

but main purpose of this mining is spread coins between as many interested people as possible

not that a few people earn a golden nose

the golden nose phase is later when even without mining u can see how ur diamonds increase  Cool
6672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 06, 2014, 10:17:50 PM
the main issue is getwork pools are not ideal due to the protocol. They are major resource hogs.

we full agree

just if someone wana create a temporary pool it would be a option
or set up a p2pool
(could ask for higher fees for more bandwith useage)
until we fixed the stratum combatible mining

cpu miner as example or singlegpu miner would sure spend the extra fee to mine on a temporary getwork pool to escape the find block lotto

its not like we earn anything if we give the hint that such a pool could pay off his aditional "resource costs"

6673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 06, 2014, 10:05:58 PM
diff 48 - 3,505.43 MH/s Gröstl networkhashrate  - around 350 MH/s scrypt hashingpower

based on http://dmdpool.digsys.bg/ nethash calculation

still a good value like 4 time the (scrypt equvivalent) hasrate than pre relaunch (and without pools)

another indicator

getmininginfo

{
"blocks" : 392415,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 35.09868325,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 2390291173,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

35 - diff 2390.291173MH/s - around 230  MH/s scrypt hashingpower

@HR dont wana invest time to analyze your numbers just state my nethash expectations which seem to be far away from yours

Is the problem related to the dmd wallet or is it cryptsy that hasn't updated it yet?

dmd wallet is able handle transactions without problems
yes we have problems with pool mining now and we work on that

but that have no impact on all wallet abilities that are used by a exchange

so

Quote
or is it cryptsy that hasn't updated it yet

this........

Is there any working exchange? Where you can deposit DMDs?  Roll Eyes

send a cryptsy support ticket it seems they need some pressure.....

diamond is mineable solo but there troubles existing regarding pool mining

we working to fix that problems but search in the meantime a alternative way for our community to mine

is p2pool mining working as close to solo mining methods that it could still work?

maybe someone from this community is interested to research this possibility

please PM me if u can setup a p2pool network thats able mining diamonds

@cryptonit: do you know anything new about the cryptsy situation?
transactions seem to still be stuck. "generate new address" also doesnt work.

we provided them all required data
its now their turn to implement it
6679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 05, 2014, 10:25:58 PM
todays update from team progress:

we run a testpool with a few modifications in wallet code
we analyzing logs and adapting pool and wallet code
there is progress in behavior but no full success until yet
we will continoue tomorrow once our devs did sleep over it
once we get our pool runing we will share how we did it and the modified source/wallets

Just hope if you get your official pool running, it will be 0% fee.  Anything else will raise a red flag...

-tb-

we have no plans of keep the pool running as soon as other working pools are up

at least not as official pool

what the guy which gave us a server for testing do with it once we finished is his own decision

HR

only thing to add is that lot people just choose wrong mining software!
use software that works with groestlcoin it will work with diamond too
