How does people get 7mh hash rate one 280x?

i am running with this setting on 280x core/mem 1027/1250

--lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 -I 20 -w 256

the best  i can get is 2.1mh

it's really strange, got 11 MHs on an old HD5970 - my HD7950 = 5.3 MHs, HD7970 = 7.1 MHs...

its not strange
its know that 59xx cards have very high performance on groestl algo
6702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 03, 2014, 03:47:08 PM

"Fair" would be to roll back everything to block 386228, wouldn't you say? That would be best for the community at large by rewarding everyone who was troubleshooting for the good of all, wouldn't it?

everyone had his chance to mine noone got any advantage
after like 30 mined blocks the wallet was posted for everyone to be used
a few minutes later diff did raise and show people where joining the mining

if someone cant set up solomine
if someone have no access to a windows pc
if someones wallet crashed more that the other ones
is that unfair?

what did others gain
what he lost?

if u didnt mine diamonds last few weeks and months
when diamond difficulty was low as hell
should we rollback because u lost something?

if u didnt mine last day where difficulty was very high after a short time already
should we rollback?

what u expect from a rollback?
easy diamonds from beeing one of the first miner?

diamond is not that kind of coin
after restart network it needed like 3 blocks until diff was adjusted to be at 1 dmd per minute there was no unfair fast mining

the mining rewards will stay for sure at least 1 1/2 years at the same 1 dmd each block until 1500000 total coins reached

that i call fair

network stay running in current blockchain

i post a crashfixed wallet in a few minutes
ui glitch (white mouseovers) isnt fixed will follow in later wallet
for now stability wallet release is more important that wait a lot more hours

as announced by pit_DMD linux wallet and source and some support to compile own linux wallets will follow
6703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 03, 2014, 09:43:36 AM
short update:

until yet all tests are good no single crash in new release candidate

give us a bit more time testing we release wallet in a few hours
we wana get the tooltip bugfix into this release too while we testing it allready regarding stability
6704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 03, 2014, 08:06:42 AM
We're testing the new fix, you may have to download another blockchain (we restore to old structure database) and new wallet. It's running without error. Will release it soon.

thx for update

so our ambitious plan where to high we packed to much new stuff into the new wallet
and because old network stuck we had to release it without enought test time

BUT with active dev such problem can be solved
and our network is running on groestl and will stay running on it

everything u mine every transaction is save

the upcoming fixed wallet will just change the database system where data is stored local back to the prooved old system

open issue list now:

wallet crashes (will be solved with next wakket release soon)
linux headless client need to be compiled once we release new source
some ui glitches with invisible text on mouseover

missing pools (most poolowner waiting for headless linux client..)

edit:

just after wrote this i got beta version of crashfixed wallet
will give ya feedback asap

danbi thanks for your first working pool. I have given up compiling the wallet under Linux. Anyway could you check the pool? Even with this monster hash now we won't find a block at this low diff?

I've allready found a block for the pool but it doesn't shown there.

There seems to be problem Sad

Either the wallet is not accepting blocks via 'submitblock' or the NOMP stratum I am using is doing something weird (wrong).

Does anyone have successfully working pool with DMD and NOMP? Is there any other stratum server to support GROESTL?
I may have to shut down the pool, so that people do not mine in vain... until this is resolved somehow.

as far as i read from groestlcoin forum pools need a special stratum
maybe u read throught their btt thread

edit:

is this helping?

@cryptocoin and the others:
Definitely thank you for the effort. A good (active!) dev team is better for the coin price and life than any DOGE hype etc.. Hopefully we can even trump Bitcoin and become like the crypto gold standard comm. in the future.
For now I'd just like to mine again, if it's even worth it now. I only have a CPU for mining.

A few good, interesting coins totally crashed because of no dev action. That's why I only buy (and possibly mine) DMD right now.

thx for feedback
such words power our engines

groestl algo is rewarding CPU mining much more than scrypt
but for solo mining its not enought
once first pools are running give it a try

I read somewhere about merged mining with groestl coin, is it in the pipeline ?

we focus on stabilze existing features first
but yes merged mining is on the todo list
groestlcoin is giving a 100000GRS reward as bounty too if someone interested
6708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 02, 2014, 08:07:31 PM

gosh I like DMD but I hate half-assed clients

same do we
we didnt deliver the quality we where aiming for
BUT we did get network running on groestl algo

please keep in mind because of old network stuck we had to release a week pre shedule

updated wallets will be released and fix this troubles some experience now

the network is running and we are the first coin who managed to switch algo towards groestl
this alone make me proud of my dev team

since we have a full time dev i can gurantee we will fix all issues and create more features and gimmicks in the near future

meanwhile i have to say thanks to our comuinity for your support
and your understanding that great things need time
as they say "rome wasnt build in a day"

Edit: but I see this is standard behaviour for all coins ofc..
this
@cryptonit

but all the other clients including the previous DMD client supported the datadir parameter
...

everyone running SSDs is fucked especially if you have more than one cryptocoin folder

will forward request to dev

What is not working for you ?

pool 0 slow/down or url not working msg ..

I don't know how to make config for solo mining like this.

did u unlock wallet?
u cant mine into a locked wallet

Wallet is already unlocked but I can't mine.

I think this part is wrong in my config but I don't know what's wrong with it.

please fix this parameter asap!
can't even start up the wallet and don't wanna hog up the stupid %appdata% folder (who the f... decides to NOT just save stuff in the same folder that the client is in..)

Great work. Seems to be working, and I found a block  Grin

thats a nice gem u found  Cool

Thanks. It's so shiny.

In case anyone needs some instructions for solo mining while we wait for the pools to come online

Here's my config for 2x270x

------------

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

sgminer -k groestlcoin --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 -o http://127.0.0.1:17772 -u someuser -p randompassword  --auto-fan --gpu-fan 85-100 --gpu-engine 1020 --gpu-memclock 1450 -I 20 --thread-concurrency 16000 -w 256 --temp-target 80 --temp-cutoff 87

------------

Still working on better settings. I can probably cut back on the memclock, but haven't tried yet.

What is the unlock wallet feature used for?

to unlock the wallet......

edit: to be able to claim POS rewards u need to unlock ur wallet
to be able solo mining u need to have ur wallet unlocked too

if u dont have a password for ur wallet u are allways unlocked and can ignore that button

but we suggest everyone to protect his wallet.dat with a password

some mouseover texts are unreadable (white letters on white background very intelligent..)

Hi devs,

Could you explain like im 5, where is the official repo with source?, can i keep the same blockchain?, how did you fix the timestamp issue?
I want to support DMD, Minar.cc has been doing it since first days, so please PM me with more technical info if you dont want it to be public just yet.

TL;DR
I want to turn on my pool i need github repo and to know if the chain is exactly the same one.

Thanks!

we forked a few blocks before old network stuck
u need to resync with new wallet or use the downloaded blockchain we provide as base

6717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond Coin (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, coin mechanics, 50% POS on: May 02, 2014, 02:53:22 PM
so i removed the old appdata roaming diamond files and exchanged them with the ones you gave for downloading , then i put in my old wallet.dat file , when starting the new qt.exe i get the error : error loading blkindex.dat , what should i do now ? Tongue

I get that too Sad

you have to download both of those of the links given for the blockchain in the descrition and move them to you appdata folder

u need both! into ur appdata diamond folder

no good idea,
some People now instamine at low diff a coin with is worth 100k Satoshi each, so they catch will many coins before
pools and with pools several miner are online and makes the diff higher.

and the persons who connect with solomining will never tell to all how it works fast, cause more miner , higher diff and lower Profit for them ...

bad start if u ask me

wrong we mine too and i can tell ya i mined 11 dmd ..........
instamine is something else i guess Wink

diff is already above 4 so far from instamine

join in solomining its easy

sgminer.exe -k groestlcoin -o 127.0.0.1:17772 -u userfromconf -p passfromconf   -T --xintensity 300 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 24512 -w 512 --lookup-gap 0 --difficulty-multiplier 0.0039062500

thats my line i use for amd290 with latest sph-miner https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0
https://mega.co.nz/#!uAp12DYa!vhfp1wDb43mB1KCo_5ZfwXehYhBXeKcVYWbmkTB2ldg

just replace -u and -p to the values u set in ur diamond.conf

@ pool maintainer
i got the info u need to use a
Quote
have to use a modifed stratum
all who run allready a groestlpool can give u support regarding this
we as coin dev team dont run a pool and cant give support in pool setup now
