El reportaje gira en torno a una empresa llamada Unetenet, donde el supuesto fraude se fundamenta en un esquema piramidal con ganancias aparentemente garantizadas. La tecnología en la que se asienta ese supuesto fraude es circunstancial.

Así que asociar, aunque sea tangencialmente, a Bitcoin con esta estructura empresarial no tiene sentido más allá de presentar la tecnología subyacente. Quizás por eso, la relación solo se muestra bien entrado el documental y durante solo tres o cuatro minutos. Hay que reconocer que nada más empezar esa pequeña sección, se resalta que Bitcoin es totalmente legal, con lo que lo que entiendo que se limita cualquier confusión en el espectador.

No entiendo que aporta esta "nueva" coin. Alguien me lo explica?

Yo ya me he apuntado pero en la página web pone que solo repartirán las monedas a personas que puedan "aportar" al proyecto sin indicar exactamente a que se refieren, bueno veremos cuando se empiece la distribución, la verdad es que este proyecto parece prometedor, además los devs han estado explicando de forma inusualmente detallada como se va a usar el preminado, eso siempre es de agradecer

Because your assumption is simply incorrect, you want to jump from the first day launch to today like there was no trading over the last 2 years and two rallies in which Dash went all the way up to 15 USD and  6 USD respectively and millions in volume traded. I have never mined anything other than BTC with butterfly labs ASICS in which I lost money. So all the nodes I owned I acquired from the market, so I know first hand distribution is healthy.

Beyond that, I think the project current state clearly shows we are making progress so is a personal decision each person needs to take whether they want to be involved or not.  

Well, bitcoin secures the blockchain with mining.  Everyone competes for the right to check and add entries into the blockchain ledger and earn a reward, and the others check it.  As long as nobody has the ability to predict that they will win the block a couple of times in a row or so, they shouldn't be able to double spend or insert things that don't belong in the chain.  Otherwise it's just a ledger.  

In Dash Evo, it will pretty much only be a competition to earn the reward and do the duty of entering transactions into the blockchain, no checking, no choosing (I believe).  The entries will be checked and locked by a quorum of Masternodes.  If the miner doesn't do what they say, it gets rejected.  Why does this work?  Because the MNs are chosen randomly and the quorum members check against each other.

So, sure, Solarminer, you could use something, a number, whatever in a newspaper to choose something like quorums, but the question is, where do you get the wide ranging, widely owned MNs or whatever you want to call them, to secure the ledger?  You need a wide ranging network with many self interested parties to make this work.  How does a bank get that?
