http://www.meetup.com/bitcoin-barcelona/

http://www.meetup.com/bitcoin-barcelona/events/199120942

y la convo en bitcointalk:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=736010.0

I think RenegadeMan lack of global vision. We are not talking about US service or EU service, we are talking about something can help people all around the world.

China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, some african countries, most of arab countries like Siria, Egipt, etc.. there are a lot of countries which are not regular democracies like US and EU. Every day journalists, freedom fighters are killed all around the world.
I fully understand what DRK's going to do for the millions of people in the world for who privacy isn't just something nice to have, their very life depends on it.

Contrary to some of the comments on here (which are hardly a surprise, so many people aren't able to think through counterpoint issues, they just return to a default position of rejecting even constructive criticism) I'm not misunderstanding the enormity of what DRK's potentially going to bring to the wider world. I'm talking about the risk to DRK of government and big business facilitating a whipping up of extreme public negative sentiment towards it resulting in a witch-hunt style of attack on anyone involved in running DRK MNs and/or DRK related businesses/services.

It's the risk to DRK of it becoming publicly associated first and foremost as a "criminals' network" that I'm highlighting, not whether DRK has validity, everyone here knows it does. The level of anonymity and privacy offered is a fundamental right that we all should be upholding.

I'm talking about the risk DRK faces and whether we can mitigate that risk to some extent.

So is just a marketing issue? Just spread the map I published. Freedom is a rare thing in our world! We need to make people think about that.

DRKTor can offer a great service for a lot of people who need to protect against corrupt and dictatorship regimes.

The majority of the world is run by people who take a dim view of anyone challenging their authority. They have fought very hard and probably killed lots of people to be in charge of things and are not about to give that up so some ‘peasants’ can wield a ballot paper.

Development Update - August 19, 2014

Utilizing the Masternode network - DarkTor

One of the future goals is to turn the masternode network into a decentralized business for masternode operators. To do this we’ll add features that improve the privacy of end users and compete with centralized businesses. Our first endeavor into this is to make a completely private tor network within Darkcoin.

The Darkcoin network will begin to offer anonymous internet access via the masternode network. As a user, all you’ll have to do is pay a fee for 24 hours of access. This fee will be paid to a masternode in much the same way the masternode fees are paid, using a deterministic algorithm for distributing the payments evenly across the whole network.

There’s a few benefits to running a private tor network through Darkcoin.
Sybil resistant - Due to the cost of obtaining masternodes, it will be very difficult for any one person to view all traffic.
Anonymous Payments - Users can pay anonymously for the service
Private Network - Our tor network will be internal to darkcoin only. All traffic will be paid traffic, so the cost of running the service should be profitable for the masternode operators.
Faster than tor - Tor has historically been very slow. This will be a lean version, that has much higher throughput.

As for the cost of the service we’re thinking $0.50 per day or something to that effect.

We’re still working on the details how this will function and this isn’t a feature that we’re absolutely set on. We’re very interested to get the community’s response to see if it’s viable .

Ozzie please, your opinions are valid and you a respected member of the community, but you are now flooding the thread with your posts.

What if this is a classic whale strategy. You get some fiat ready at an exchange and then move large amount of coins to that exchnage. This will create panic among noobs, make them think that someone is getting ready to dump. Noobs panic and sell and the whale collects the cheap coins  Roll Eyes
Whales do not need your cheap coins. They are already rich. They sell when they sell and buy when they buy. We are just part of the flotsam.
Exactly why would one want to buy Bitcoin at $1000 each when they could do it at $100 each? Because they have money?
That would be a very bad move/bad investor. The same is applied to Darkcoin. The market was manipulated and the margin gains in the last day were huge. You're wrong.
After RC4, I saw the money dry up. I expected dumps but not the amount that occurred. But you can see from the 6 month chart, that core miners from the start have been dumping. Does not mean that Drk technology is bad or whatever but key holders have been dumping for months. Your attempts at rationalisation are amusing.

You can't know this for sure, nobody can, you are beginning to spread FUD.

Please take a breath
Seriously, who do you think had enough coins to dump into the market? I know one Chinese miner had 300,000 coins on his own.  Who knows how many the devs had?  They all have expenses and families to maintain. Plus, some would have cashed out etc...  It's what happened. If no one sold, the coin would be worth more right now.

I don't know and you can't know. Please posts FACTS, otherwise you are talkin nonsense FUD

I read last 20 pages and your opinions (darkwallet, opensource drk, etc..) are quite clear right now.

Now take a break please.

FFS will you take a break? This is not the shojayxt spam thread.
I do0n`t know why but I don`t see any of his post...what are you talking about? Cheesy Cheesy
Ignore him and you will have no more worries Smiley

That's fine for us, but new people will come to the thread looking for something useful and all they get is this:

Trolls need your attention. With no interaction with the regulars, they vanish.

Don't let trolls take control of the thread. Just let them speak alone.

Even all fuders and trolls can't destroy what is, in fact, the best alt of the cryto scene.
Now focus and keep the good work.
Devs develop, the troll hunting team have tons of work to do too.

So sad reading all the "Hero Members" trolling in this open thread.

So easy to beat the dead horse. You are scum

Get a life.

Yes, and one hero member of the bitcoin foundation had to come here trolling on this thread on RC4 launch..It's pathetic how greed changes people and crypto coin holders are trying to destroy each other's coin..It's worse than Wall Street..At least they work together on Wall Street to make as much money as possible..Here it's just people destroying each other..Pathetic...
Crypto was supposed to replace fiat but with what's happening in the crypto world, it's just not going to happen..

please, this is not about DarkCoin (only). This is a general falling market. Please follow: http://coinmarketcap.com It's all in red.

The fundamentals of Darkcoin are rock solid.

This is why you should not invest in a coin that is vaporware and you wait for mooooooonths for dev to actually make the coin do what it is supposed to do instead of coins that actually do the job and better!

Oh and premined/ninjamined/instamined coins ALWAYS dump like this.

Have fun and i hope some of you took some lessons...

I'll remember this post to you in 2 months time.
