Como algunos ya sabéis la comunidad Bitcoin en Barcelona es bastante activa. Hace ya bastantes meses (en Noviembre empezamos) nos vamos encontrando para compartir experiencias un par de veces al mes. Normalmente algún miembro del grupo se prepara una pequeña presentación (sobre un desarrollo que está programando, una nueva empresa, una alt que le interesa, etc..) y después hay un debate general. I personally think going closed is what is killing drk. The experts like AA are avoiding it and the whales did not react to RC4. Also markets will not form around closed source tech. There was a window to gain the support of the privacy community. Drk was leading that race.
Nothing is killing DRK.  It's a tiny and volatile market, currently filled with ADD lemmings, prices will fluctuate. Meanwhile clever people are getting on with building something amazing. Anyone whining about the current price who isn't actively participating in some way to add value to the DRK ecosystem should really shut the fuck up, it isn't anyone else's job to give you a free lunch.The current price is a signal. Ignore at your peril. The market does not like Drk as currently formulated. You think I'm getting a free lunch? I invested in Drk. The price drop surprised me. I'm being factual about what happened. No amount of wishful thinking or new tech is going to get whales investing when they did not invest after RC4. At some point Drk will be forced to open source but by that time the market will have moved on. They will be either using another open source anon tech or fork Drk and start fresh. The large mining at the start, block reward change midway and name is proving too big a burden to overcome. It's baggage that someone will discard. That's why Drk may have the best tech but the market is selling it off. The market is betting against Drk. That is a fact. 'The market' is as I said is currently a very tiny group of (mostly) idiots. That's isn't a market anyone should be caring about. The real market is out there in the big wide, the ones with real money who are crying out for a way of keeping that money private. They are the target demographic, not a few clowns with short attention spans in the crypto scene. Exactly... bravo! +1 Some of us are here because we believe in a real project with real objectives and a real and talented group of devs. This is a rollercoaster, if someone can't put up with it, please dump and leave the thread. I think the weak hands have all cashed out now, bottom was 0.005 BTC and trend reversal has kicked in. Not 100% sure, but fairly confident. This is where I start accumulating more DRK, just freed up 10 BTC. Price is likely to receive a further boost after Evan announces plan RC5 and beyond. I expect this will happen tomorrow, since he has probably taken the weekend off after all the hard work.
I damn well hope he doesn't announce anything until Tuesday, EVAN IF YOU READ THIS...GO TAKE ANOTHER FEW DAYS OFF I need to get another 2x MN under my belt! Just need my btc to clear over the weekend! Should we create a "Take a few more days off Evan" fund to pay for Evan to have an extended holiday? I will donate... I do think Evan made a mistake after RC4 release. Where I think it's fine to focus on coding and leave communication as a second priority, especially before final release, I think he should have spent a few days on the forums for many hours a day after RC4 release. This is new technology, with many people having questions on how everything works and many people having minor issues. Evan should have been posting like a mad man to inform and help people, and to defend his system. This would have easily stopped the price decline, and possibly would have increased it (although we arguably want a price decline to lose the weak hands). Of course we have Eltito for this, but I have the feeling that he is not very motivated to put in to much work for this project (for whatever reason... possibly doesn't own enough DRK). It just seems wrong that everyone has questions on how things are supposed to work, with no one from the team being here to explain it to us (with team being Evan and nobody else, since only he knows exactly how things should work). The team didn't have time for the forum. They were busy dumping drk. Unless you can give actual evidence, this is FUD and I will call you an liar and troll at this point until you show me evidence. . He is one of the worst trolls here with a clear agenda. +1 Please do that if you really want to help with the development process. Spreading the potential issues here acts more like a FUD and takes a food for the payed trolls around! What do you mean spreading potential issues? These issues are real. People should know about them. More people likely learn about DRK from this thread than anywhere else. If there are issues they should be posted where the most people go. Nobody cares if you post your problems here. Anyway, you didnt answer my question. What is your name on Darkcointalk? I can go and check to see if your screenshots and bug reports were missed. Don't you want your problem fixed? No your problem is that you don't want people to hear about these bugs with RC4. Nobody but the cheerleaders go to darkcointalk, everyone else comes here. You guys want to paint a picture of a perfect RC4 rollout. Well it doesn't exist.
Are you for real? Seriously? We are "trying to paint a picture of perfect RC4 rollout"? With 10 patches and quite a number of bugs? People are giving feedback to improve so that bugs are squashed. And they are being squashed and from, say, a few people getting it work correctly first time round, we are now at a percentage where it works for 95% of the people just a couple days later. It's been steadily improving to perfection. You have a bug? NICE. That's good, because Evan can then patch it and make it go to 98-99 and eventually 100% correct. You report it and it gets fixed. You don't even need to report it to Darkcointalk, it will actually be picked up by people who are reading the thread. But insisting on "OHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS BROOOKEEEENNN" and all the debating back and forth is not really bug-finding and reporting. It's about your usual trolling. If it didn't have bugs it would be called FINAL, not beta/rc. And still it would have a few bugs down the road as all final releases do. That's how software works. Rant: I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in the crypto-community today....How do they think the inputs and outputs on this page https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/tx.dws?502095.htm are not worth a market cap equal to LTC?...or at least an increase in the DRK/BTC price for the day. Utter BS. They're either going from one pump and dump to the other or they're sticking their heads in the sand and declaring all alt coins shit and praying at the alter of their gold calf-BTC. It just ain't right. JL Rant over. Day-traders are NOT crypto community, sorry. They don't care about innovation, etc. Day-traders make up the majority of volume on all exchanges. Saying that they are not part of the crypto community is ignorant. Take the day traders away and most altcoins will fade away. DRK included. If it wasn't for day traders there wouldn't be a market. If you say so, i know i'm right. Long day holders and serious investors keeps the coins alive, day traders are the trolls of the markets, they don't care more that a penny of benefit. Pues no llego en el mejor momento, yo me hubiera esperado unos días a que pasara la tormenta actual.  Si te fijas, la tormenta actual tiene que ver con las restricciones y "normas" que quiere imponer la autoridad financiera de NY al bitcoin. Restricciones y normas con una moneda perfectamente anónima, pocas puedes hacer.... |
