Wink

Some good advice from the great investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett (to properly play the alt game):

• You are neither right nor wrong because the crowd disagrees with you. You are right because your data and reasoning are right.
• Wide diversification is only required when investors do not understand what they are doing.
• Never invest in a business you cannot understand.
• Unless you can watch your stock alts holding decline by 50% without becoming panic-stricken, you should not be in the stock market alt -market.
• Why not invest your assets in the companies you really like? As Mae West said, "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful".
• Risk can be greatly reduced by concentrating on only a few holdings.
• Stop trying to predict the direction of the stock alt market, the economy, interest rates, or elections.
• Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy only when others are fearful.
• It is optimism that is the enemy of the rational buyer.
• As far as you are concerned, the stock alt market does not exist. Ignore it.
• The ability to say "no" is a tremendous advantage for an investor.
• Much success can be attributed to inactivity. Most investors cannot resist the temptation to constantly buy and sell.
• Lethargy, bordering on sloth should remain the cornerstone of an investment style.
• An investor should act as though he had a lifetime decision card with just twenty punches on it.
• Wild swings in share prices have more to do with the "lemming- like" behaviour of institutional investors than with the aggregate returns of the company they own.
• As a group, lemmings have a rotten image, but no individual lemming has ever received bad press.
• Do not take yearly results too seriously. Instead, focus on four or five-year averages.
• It is more important to say "no" to an opportunity, than to say "yes".
• Always invest for the long term.
• Does the business have favourable long term prospects?
• It is not necessary to do extraordinary things to get extraordinary results.
• Remember that the stock alt market is manic-depressive.
• An investor should ordinarily hold a small piece of an outstanding business with the same tenacity that an owner would exhibit if he owned all of that business.

I think 290 or 290x get 2.3-2.5 Mh/s speed and not 280x gpu.

my 280x get 2.180 max. more than that freeze

A lot of people get 2.3Mh with their 280x's anyway, and your screenshots prove nothing.
Well, i imagined this kind of response, but i don't know what could prove i have done it without releasing the code. If you have any ideas, please tell me!

Release the code. Smiley

You'll get some donations. Nobody with a brain is going to pay you up front to run unaudited mining software.

I tried that before. Never got a penny. (my Protoshares miner is now used by several noirshares pools and i never seen a peny for it in donations).

I can't understand, too. What if sgminer developers started to ask money for bug fixes or new releases?

If you have made something nice because you are clever, share it with the rest. If you won't share it, after a while your 'fix' will be rediscovered by someone else who will share it.

If you want to make money like this, go to work for the fucking M$

Well, you are saying that i should help people make money (literally), by mining but that i should not get any money for it? really???!
No one will "rediscover" my "fix" for free either. This kind of improvement requires hard work and those who rediscover it will be willing to be rewarded for their work.

my opinion:

Just send the code to coins101, AlexGR, chaeplin or other senior trusted member (who agrees) of our community to verification. Later you might claim some donations...

My darkproxy.net website now has an easy cloud server mining guide to help folks new to crypto get started with mining some Darkcoins.

See: http://www.darkproxy.net/darkcoin-cpu-cloud-mining-guide.php or https://ssl.darkproxy.net/darkcoin-cpu-cloud-mining-guide.php

I've also started working on a pseudonymous Darkcoin mining protocol which will allow P2pool mining via Tor .onion's or a secure VPN tunnel.

~ Full promotion of darkproxy.net commences from this weekend. By Nov. 2014 the site aims to be serving well over 2TB+ of traffic avg. per. week / month.

 Shocked

That is AWESOME.  I'm glad we have someone with darknet expertise working on this!   Grin Grin

Expect lots of residual hits to the Darkcoin project website.   Cool

Just in time for the new website launch Cheesy

Indeed. Thanks.

I don't claim full credit for the guide though, as I've only expanded upon a blog post by kvvs, adding some more detailed screen shots and updating some settings / info. etc. ...

See: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/cloud-mine-darkcoins.349/

Again, credit to kvvs - so please donate some Darkcoins and choose either sign-up link - with a coin flip. Smiley

...

When the Darkcoin master nodes stuff is a bit more finalized I'll look to write a detailed set-up guide.

Howto lock down security settings, the best server locations and choice of VPS provider are all going to be important factors.

A list of hosting providers who are already known to be Tor friendly will be very useful.

Hoping to earn enough Darkcoins through this website to host my own master node or two.

Some initial profits will go towards funding some extra dedicated connectivity nodes for Tor and I2p support - 6 nodes in total - 2x Tor (only) , 2x I2p (only), 2x Tor and I2p for chaining both networks.

A list of hosting "friendly" providers will be a must in a short time Smiley

A lot of us are waiting for a "prove of idiots" MasterNode set-up guide, so you can get some darkcoins (some of us will donate, for sure)
1510  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: Artículo especial sobre Darkcoin on: May 02, 2014, 01:59:15 PM

I've taken in suggestions about images, colours, etc.

What do we think of this? http://darkcoinsample.hostoi.com/

It would be nice to get a new website up before that wired articles comes out. People will be looking up DRK.

Just remember we will use different languages for the web (design some space to show it, please)  Wink

I was thinking about the goverments (of the US and Europe mainly) and I think in the near future (with some “terrorist” excuse)  they will try to close the DarkSend masternodes system. We are now out of the focus of the media, but if Evan succeed (and I have no doubt about that) we will be exposed to all kind criticism.

The  anonimity is a real threat  to the goverments and powerful people. They will be very nervous in the next few months/years (if they are nervous with dark wallet, and they just need to hack one server....)

I think we must anticipate this possibility.

Our weakness link in the chain are the Masternodes. If we use external servers, we must spread it all over the world. It's no sense we all use the "Amazon" servers, because Amazon is a US company the US goverment can easily close that.

Maybe sounds paranoid, but I think our masternodes must be placed in servers of companies  located all around the world, in Russia, Southamerica, african or asian countruies (not in china, of course), etc...   Not only in US and EU.  This will make our Masternodes net more powerful.

My 2 duffs.

Hola!

Métodos. on: April 30, 2014, 05:37:39 AM

Métodos. on: April 29, 2014, 10:13:26 PM

I would like to ask the devs to make it compulsory to include the blockchain as part of the supernodes, and have it as 'read by anyone'.
I think that once we have the supernodes up and running with a readable blockchain that is accessible by anyone, different services might evolve independent of the darkcoin devs on top of this, such as the thin wallet described by TS.

Personally, I'm thinking less about smartphone wallet, and more about symbian wallet for third world countries.
These countries enjoy a huge influx of remittances by workers sending money back home, traditionally via Western Union.
We have in our village Thai and Filipino students/workers. I heard how much they are charged for transfers and almost fell to the ground.

This is  huge market of more than $0.5 TRILLION PER YEAR.

I think this also bundles well with the Darkcoin gift-card that the devs are working on.

This is a great idea.

This is something that Andreas Antonopoulos is always talking in his conferences. I think we must focus in real "third world" problems instead of western world merchants.

We must beat Western Union first, then other FIAT currencies
1518  Local / Minería de altcoins / Re: Groestl vs x11 on: April 28, 2014, 09:55:27 PM

1519  Local / Minería de altcoins / Re: Asic Scrypt on: April 28, 2014, 06:20:33 PM

1520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: April 27, 2014, 09:37:27 PM
In the last 10 pages I read a lot of people asking how to setup a masternode, and many started to offer to pay for someone to help them setting up a masternode. There is an awesome tutorial made by chaeplin in DRKtalk, but I think many of us, and many to come, would love to have a video of it, so I thought that we could organize sort of an event, a webinar, where one of us could explain and setup a masternode (in testnet so that we could see 100% of the steps and still be secure), and then record the webinar and leave it in the official site for future reference (in the future many people will need this)

There are sites like webex.com or gotomeeting.com (both are paid I believe) were we could do this with an acceptable amount of viewers. Because it takes time to prepare it and do it, I think we could organize a donation for the speaker (or if it matches something in the bounty list by LimLims then we have it already).

Is it a good idea? Does anyone feel like doing it? And would it be better to do it already or wait until RC2 is out?

I like the idea. I can donate some DRKs for this
