You can blame the companies AMT hired to do work on these all you want, but eventually the blame falls squarely on AMT for their incompetence. They took everyones money and picked the manufacturers to build these machines. They are 100% responsible.
Anyone that is hardware savvy knows that heatsinks need to be clamped down tightly. The fact that they thought they could use thermal tape to stick the heatsinks on these chips shows complete ignorance of technical skill.
I'm sick of reading all these excuses both Opieum and Fuzzy want to make for AMT. They are responsible for this mess, regardless of who dropped the ball on the design and/or execution.

A judge can demand garnishment the wages of those responsible to get the plaintiffs paid back. They can also take control of their assets in order for these monies to be paid back.

Yes a judge can garnish wages: in pa it's 10% per creditor not to excede 25% max to comply with federal law. And that is only if what you are making doesn't put you below the poverty threshold. Lets say Jim and Josh net 50,000 each so 100,000 x .25 is 25,000 per year / over a minimum of 1500 orders I hope everyone enjoys their $16.67 a year. So I'll be paid back for my miner in 345 years if josh, jim, and I were all so lucky to live that long. So while it's not literally dimes it's no amount of money worth having wages garnished over. if I'm lucky and live 50 years after a judge lets wage garnishment happen I'll have recouped 833 dollars in those 50 years. As for their assets that depends. Who's names are "their" assets in? If they are able to prove it's not not fraud and cause by undue damage to them by a third party that resulted in their inability to ship the miners as specified they their assets aren't going to be touched after a judgment was awarded and they wanted to declare bankruptcy. If they have their company set up a certain way then their assets will be shielded, if they were smart enough to go that route. I'd have my assets in a trust that named my children as beneficiaries some long time off into the future. Remember the backlog of research from users here, about AMT's business registration? THEY ARENT EVEN REGISTERED AS A U.S BUSINESS! They've been using Advanced Mining Technology's name, which is an actual mining company (other business) founded in the 80's. An LLC might of covered their ass, but there is no indication of AMT LLC. or anything to that nature. Hell, maybe someone can point me to a webpage that shows their actual registered company? We already have the legal aspects handled with the class-action lawyers. If AMT want to work out a solution that gets everyone compensated then that's good for everyone.

My returned damaged AMT 1.2T Bitcoin miner is just sitting there at: FEDEX GROUND 14300 TOWNSEND RD PHILADELPHIA, PA 19154-1015 (800) 463-3339 AMT, Please go pick this up. Everyone is concerned why you are not picking up your packages anymore or answering the door.  Why the fuck would Zipkin tell people to RMA their miners to a location where they are never at? He should of given the address in which his car is located, considering he keeps all of the other manufacturing supplies in his trunk. That's right people, AMT is run out of a CAR. Yes, do you recall they accused me of waiting a week to ship it back. (The truth is it took a full week because AMT failed to pick it up at my address after they said they would). I had to get my trunk dirty and put that taped together cardboard box in my nice car. They instructed me to send it back to them, which I did. AMT_Miners posted here that they would receive the 1.2T miner, fix it and ship it right back to me. (that's not acceptable to me, but they didn't even do that much). As I've said, it looks like they are no longer in action. It's actually been five times already, nobody is even answering the door anymore. I'm sure AMT will show up again in a week to delete posts and tell everyone that the rest of the orders are "shipping shortly" and blah blah blah. On the other hand I am working with them to repair one of my miners (2 bad cards and 1 bad card on a working one). So far they have been helpful if a bit delayed. At the moment I have 3 bad cards due to a default setting my miners had...I corrected that and things seem to be working for the remaining cards. For me personally it has not been all bad. At the end of the day its just been communications issues as has been stated. I can't speak for anyone else but myself, so far my own experience has been while a bit delayed they have eventually replied. That being said I do get that people are fed up and want answers.
Hopefully this all gets resolved to everyone's satisfaction. There is more bad blood here than a hemophiliacs convention (no offense intended to hemophiliacs).
So they've been playing favorites - helping you, and ignoring everyone else. This really helps put everyone at ease (NOT). For starters why are you are instigating more problems? What are you doing to make this situation work? What stake do you have in this besides just coming in here and going prosecute? Did you get hardware from them? Do have any legitimate claim from this? Plugged my miner is after I got a blackplane from another AMT customer. Note: AMT has not shipped me a backplane. This is the result:  The backplane started going up in smoke when I plugged it in. Notice the burn marks at the top. No wonder they conveniently forgot to include a backplane. We've created a fedex tracking number for now the 2nd backplane that we'll be sending to Carlos.
Carlos is valued customer of AMT and we are very happy tom have him. We'll update this shortly with the fedex tracking number to Carlos's house.

Has AMT contracted you to provide technical support? Are you also doing re-work on damaged boards?
Will you provide help on missing parts? I got a missing back plane. My assistance to customers, will be technical support. (Though limited by several things.) I am not personally reworking the boards myself, just identifying the point of failures, and marking the components to be reworked. If I can, I will try to assist with locating or obtaining missing parts. (Once I have settled-in. I just got out of the hospital a few days ago, and have to finalize the "informal contract", with Josh.) You see how AMT has shipped these units. You see all the problems. You see how they talk to customers and not offer refunds. And yet you offer to work for them for free (AGAIN). I don't understand you. What are you, unemployed or desperate for their approval? Trying to help them out, and thinking by doing so they will treat you special and give you a newly working 2.4TH? I just don't get it. Don't you value your free time? Do you think you need to offer free help to them since they are holding your miner/$$$ hostage? Either way, you are just complicating things by becoming their technical support. They should be actively refunding/engaging with customers, but now they have you to do that for them. At the very least, an AMT representative should be doing technical support so that the responsibility is in their court. . I still believe these were intentionally packed poorly for insurance claims. These miners are probably riddled with heat/power issues, even when they aren't smashed in shipping. We just have to wait and see how long someone can run one of these at the full 1.2TH STABLE, without it burning out.
